Best video in the nano series on your channel. Some invaluavle advice, great shopping list for any beginner reef keeper. Can not argue with the top spot, the most important parameter and the best piece of kit for the job - DD temp controller 🙌. Do you always leave your cleaning magnet in the tank? 😬Fantastic video and really enjoy this channel. 👍
Thanks for watching Jay. As we often discuss the simple reefing practices and parameters can easily be overlooked so this really covers them. DD controller is the best 👌🏻 I take it out from time to time to examine it and make Sure it is in good condition
That is a really good question 🤔. Not sure it would as these basic products are just as important for salinity, temp and water quality in a 100L or 1000L system.
Nice video. Question for you. When setting up a new tank if you got the salt to high would you just dilute it with RO water until you get the correct parameters? Don’t want to start a cycle with high salt
Thanks for watching 👏🏻👏🏻. Correct, if you add RO then salinity will drop. Worth mixing say 25L of RO and measure how much salt you need to get you to 1.025. You can then use this ratio when mixing saltwater for water changes 👍🏻
Hello, thanks for the update. Noticed the Red Sea ATO sensor is not using the bracket with the magnet, is this correct, if so, how did you install it? I've recently restarted my Red Sea 130d and looking for an ATO, was considering the Tunze but the Red Sea ATO has the wireless. Just wasn't sure it would fit in the AIO of my 130d.
Thanks for watching. Correct, I don’t have the bracket fitted and I have positioned it between the return pipe and the side of tank. Fits snugly so all good 👌🏻🙌🏻
@@fishpalace Great! Thanks. That was the only thing holding me back from purchasing, wasn't sure if it would fit and work. Looks like I'll be hitting the buy button. Thanks again. Subbed
Thanks for watching and for your comments and opinion. It is an interesting point as if I did not make a video unless my tanks were perfect then I would only be showing one side of the hobby, which is misleading and disingenuous. I take the rough with the smooth and show all sides of my reefing hobby. I make mistakes and share them so that other people can avoid them and be more successful than I am. Do you agree with my 5 must haves or would you have a different 5? Many thanks 👍🏻
@@fishpalace the fact is that there would be many more things to say about starting a marine tank, obviously what you say is true, but they are just the basics. I noticed that English and Americans still don't know how to use bacteria and start a tank as God knows, so I just disagree with the first point, given that rocks and sand (even if alive) do not have a sufficient bacterial load to start a tank (and by doing everything in a hurry and not using bacteria you end up with cyano)
@@thomasturbato7021 I agree tanks are set up in a hurry and so little focus on bacteria but I think this will come to the forefront over the next 12 months or so to try and avoid the issues that many see. I have made the mistake with this tank but not my other 2 tanks of not spending enough time building up bacteria hence the problems I have seen recently. You live and learn from your mistakes and become a better reefer

Great video it Will help many people in the hobby 👍
Thanks for watching Tony, really appreciate it. I hope so as we often overlook the simple stuff and both salinity and temp is 101 of reefing 👌🏻
Great vid, really useful advice.
Thanks for watching and the kind words, really appreciate it 👌🏻🙌🏻
Great video Paul 👌
Thanks for watching and great to have you on livestream last night 👏🏻👏🏻
Great video. Would the list change if it was for bigger tanks?

Great video and well put together thumbs up :)
Thanks for watching Tom. Looking forward to watching your channel soon 🙏🏻
