Hi Matt. Mine is a Sept 2001 4.0 Sovereign in Emerald Green Metallic. Depending on the light, sometimes it looks like British Racing Green; sometimes it looks like Sapphire Blue. It's in great condition with only 74,000 miles on the clock and I absolutely ADORE it. So much so that when I see someone like you so enthusiastic and excited over these wonderful cars I well up with pride. There really is nothing like them. If they've been looked after from new, they're not expensive to maintain. There are loads of ebayers who supply second-hand, reconditioned and aftermarket parts.
Yours is the best YT channel there is about cars. Keep up the fabulous work.

A truly beautiful Jag. Elegant, understated, and classy (please don’t remove the coach-line)! Brings fond memories back from my childhood, when dad had his. R567 EGP - blast from the past! That glorious V8, the sound of the second beep when locking the car, the indicator tick, the style of the interior lights by the rear passenger head rests - like something from an art deco dining room, so beautiful. It does deserve to be saved, but more importantly it deserves to love in your garage at home .I absolutely adore the 308 its the last of the try jags ,it's a decent car under all that dirt and I would be extremely disappointed if you moved it on for a measly profit of 1500 quid. Old Jaguars turn heads and it says a lot more about the man that drives it than an AMG ever could. Be proud of your roots ,you know you want to keep it ,and when asked what car do you drive. In your best Jeremy Clarkson. I drive a Jaaaaag 😁🇬🇧❤️

Some places can fix the headliner by injecting adhesive through it but even that’s not easy.
My father has a x308 LWB supercharged 4.0 and they are notorious for not going into the deepest “sleep” mode, and they drain the battery. He has a big solar panel on the rear shelf and it keeps it topped up.
It’a too big for my garage but otherwise I love it. It’s in royal blue with ivory seats, identical to the one the late Queen used around Windsor Castle except hers had a handbag hook. The carpets are Wilton thickness. Solid walnut picnic tables. Heated electric rear seats, car phone and Sat Nav in that old thing…. But single zone climate control. Strange omission.

@johnatherton71 But the difference is that German cars sell in huge numbers and the companies that produce them are independent and profitable!
Those German sheds as you call them actually have a much higher owner retention than anything JLR makes so apparently they must be satisfying their owners well enough for them to buy another one.
Six of the top ten selling vehicles in the UK are German marques or designs.

Something special about old Jags, my brother once came home with a Daimler Sovereign 4.2. He was only 20 at the time, we had a laugh driving round in it, a lovely car that sadly hadn't been looked after but will never forget the ride....like a magic carpet.

G'day from WA! As soon as I saw the title I thought 'hello, here we go'! But I agree, it's just too nice a car to let it go so well done for investing in it, although 14 months and not finished - didn't even clean the moss of it?! Must be a record! I'm looking forward to the update - please do one. I'm sure it will be a beauty when its finished. Well done Matt! You're a gem!

These were actually pretty good for reliability back in the day. They came quite close to the top in those customer satisfaction survey things. I've always liked the Ford era Jags. They seem to be the best ones to have.

@@matthewgodwin3050what are you huffing mate? Ford era jags are the worst ones by miles. For reliability it is the new ones that beats the rest, I know the modern looks aren't for the older gents tastes but are very stylish designed by Ian atleast. Loved my XF mark2 so far.

But that said, young bloke like yourself, an X350 XJR in top nick! It doesn't matter what you've spent on her as long as you can afford it, do your best by the old girl and if you must sell her, get a good price and make sure she goes to a really good home, someone who will love and appreciate the Lady and Cherish her, like I do mine! Good luck mate, a finer thing you couldn't be doing! 👍🇳🇿

Definitely not lost your mind. This is a classic that will start to appreciate in value soon I feel. It's arguably one of the most handsome Jag shapes but is modern enough to daily drive. I think it looks best without the chrome trim in XJR spec but traditionalists will like the chrome. That's a classy special interior. Nothing modern this side of a Bentley has that feel.
