I wouldn't personally blame the girls for the "long" breaks because essentially the label makes these decisions and they're under a contract. But the good thing with BLACKPINK and YG is that they have always been quality over quantity.
Because the executive producer for BP Will rather take months to make one track than to shovel out a half sounding track. It’s how they work. Quality over quantity, they don’t break records just like that, it’s because when they finally release something it’s meant to just go to the top the next day or within a week.

Plus, earlier today, they dropped a list of dates for their #BORNPINK World Tour.
2+ years? XD their last comeback was 1year 10months ago in october 2020. and something happened? yeah.. they had "The Show", Rosés solo project, Lisas Solo project(that went into early 2022 when she promoted in the US and also had the project with DJ snake), BP "The movie", UN ambassador duties, Jisoo busy with filming snowdrop, shittons of magazine shootings(and other stuff like fashion shows and such), Jennie filming for "The idol" in the US... in between that time.. and thats just a few things. they were actually booked and busy. And Lisa said on the Zach Sang show that they are constantly recording something in the meantime. 1year and 10month is not really that long for an artist to release a new album. it took beyonce 6 years to release her new album!
Maybe for kpop fans its unusual because "normal" kpop acts constantly need to promote themselves to stay relevant. but at a certain level of fame you dont need to go through that "overworking grinder" anymore... even in kpop. best example is SNSD(Girls generation). their last song/album also was in 2017 and they JUST NOW released their new one.. Big Bang.. their last song was in 2018.. released a new song(not even an album) this year.. i wouldnt say its just "YGs fault". its rather that they give them free space to not overwork themselves.
But anyway, now Blackpink will be mega busy with their music project again. Single this August, album in september, from october worldtour TILL JUNE next year(its going to be the biggest worldtour in kpop GG history). i guess that needed alot of preparation in the first place anyway.

There's nothing fishy really I don't think. I know YG planned out the 2020 album to be a hiatus point because they were contractually obligated to the solo releases for Rose and Lisa. And Jisoo was working on her acting. They're time was very limited plus Teddy was working with pretty much everyone in the business it seems. Plus they've been touring where they can, they had the big virtual tour and the big televised event, plus the movie so it's not like they disappeared off the face of the planet.
Treasure was also gone for almost two years as well and they came back strong and there was nothing wrong behind the scenes.
Yeah. YG doesnt hunt their artist through the constant release/promotion grinder like other kpop companies do(if you know how tough it is with all the music show promotions you will understand what i mean). Blackpink was still active with many other stuff. they stood this relevant that they even topped the Korean brand reputation charts 8 out of 12months even without promoting new music as a group.
u cant categized blackpink like your any other kpop group with 2 comeback every year. this is greatest of all time we talking about. they in a different league, so dont compare why other group comeback so many times

Why have so many people lost their shit over a 2 year Hiatus ?? They have not stopped physically or mentally since they arrived to train at YG. Adele disappeared for 6 years and came back with a whopping album. 2022 is YG's year we have had Big Bang comeback, Ikon comeback, Winner comeback, Treasure comeback now clear the floor because the Queens are coming.
THIS IS NOT AN M/V it is a COMMERCIAL FILM but what so many have totally missed is PUBG has a channel here on RUclips and there is a 15 minute concert with BLACKPINK avatars the geniuses behind this clip have done something that has never been done before and by choosing BLACKPINK to collab with they knew it would be a success and it is an incredible work of art not just blackpink but the entire concept.
PUBG MOBILE is a phone game. Believing that’s why they’re animated. This comeback will be epic I think. 😄

this is just my personal question above all of those overrated rants against YGE and such, like do we get to see a day (in the past, present nor even in the future time) where somebody would take their time to properly learn a deeper business aspect of Kpop industry as a whole thing?

I have to disagree with u here bro, a true blink will be exited on their comeback after 2 years rather than complaining. Its not like their been innactive for 2 years doing nothing. They have other commitment as well such as brand endorsements etc. Besides, their comeback this time with full album not just a single. Good songs take time. Hey bro ive been suggesting some BP videos to u, in some community posts, anyway
I can't believe they really realesed this after the amount of leaks, only last year in July and August new parts lf RFL were leaked 3 TIMES... Wow, so I was wrong when I said they arent gonna realese this since was leaked ... Now im saying they arent going to realese Two Faced just to see if they do LOL XD
I know ALL the leaks, the ones in 2020 amd early 2021 and the ones after the half of 2021, there's some lines and verses that didnt make into the song but I don't even care, at least we got the song, They actually removed some parts, in some leaks Jisoo repeat twice "RFL" in the chorus in the 1st version of RFL in 2020/early2021(they all used to do actually except Jennie), Lisa's verse at 00:30 of the song is different in the 1st version of RFL in this one is slower, Jennie used to sing Jisoo's verse but they removed, Lisa's flow in the chorus got removed, and the instrumental in the chorus is a little different from the studio one leaked in July/August 2021, its a little little less puchier if this makes sense, and Lisa's RFL line in the chorus is different in this one too, in the 1st version she used to sing less agressive that part, Jennie's verses didnt change a thing from the leaks she's the only one with the same verses
but im glad they released the song...
