Danny's not wrong, matter does get heavier when traveling at greater speeds, but the difference at the speeds involved is so tiny it would have basically zero effect on the outcome.
He's not really correct. The balls would have to be approaching light speed. Negligible is an understatement. The effect he is calling "heavier" is a result of cue ball deformation and recoil. Assuming your stroke is level, when you hit the cue ball hard really hard it there is a deformation of the cue ball at the point of contact (like a rubber ball but WAY more rigid), the recoil effect when the cue goes back to its shape launches the ball forward with force relative to the speed and compression of which it was struck. This transfer of energy at high speeds overwhelms the surface friction holding the cue ball to the table (this effect is exacerbated with any downward angle from the cue or backspin). Once contact occurs with the object ball as the cueball is no longer aligned with the table plane, another elastic deformation and recoil occur between the CB & OB causing the cue ball to "jump" slightly because the forces of impact compounded by trajectory and angle are greater than the surface friction that keeps the balls on the table. Therefore, the jump cannot occur because the CB is heavier. It's just a similar effect.
If I understood Danny's argument, he's saying it gets angle on a straight in shot, because the cue ball gets heavier. I think the most simple explanation is rather that you loose accuracy when you power up. So if the object ball deviate just a ¼ inch from dead center to the pocket, the angle is much more exaggerated with a hard hit. That's why the cue ball doesn't follow and scratches.
@@2colossery Well we can't really say right or wrong to that here as we can't see exactly where he hit the CB. He could have aimed to cheat the pocket at speed. All I was saying is it's impossible for the cue ball to get heavier mathematically. And explained the physics of the jump and why it happens when aligned with the table plane. All John did was cheat the pocket or he saw he had a slight angle that we didn't see. In any case, at the speed it was played, it was a hell of a shot. Very low percentage. Still tho, the ball doesn't get heavier. It just seems heavier.
@Nikeel_A.W yeah, I get what you meant and we agree that it's not a matter of the cb getting heavier. I just think in general, the most likely reason that it's harder to scratch on high speed shots is the loss of accuracy, rather than the jump imo.
I find it funny when Danny said the ball gets heavier when you hit it hard and it was all Mark could do to not call Danny a freaking idiot. The push-out should be eliminated. What's the difference between getting hooked on the break or your opponent hooking you?
Before TV got involved, you actually had the push out option every time you got hooked. If anything I like that approach better, much more tactical. But 9-ball has become a fast food product. It's all about "the show". By far the worst discipline of pool in my opinion.
@@lencac7952 wth are you talking about? I was simply discussing rule changes of 9-ball that has made it worse. It´s fairly widely agreed that 8-ball, 10-ball, Straight pool and One pocket are significantly harder disciplines than 9-ball.
@lencac7952 lmao imagine getting butthurt about someone discussing rules of different pool disciplines. You got serious self esteem issues, dude. Bye 👋
50:33 This dudes ignorance reached a new milestone tonight. That is in the top 5 dumbest things I have ever heard in my life. The harder you hit an object the heavier it becomes... wow!
Shane playing a little mental game with the rack at the end.
the GOAT SVB 🔥🔥

Crazy, this is when Morra played right handed. Also, he was switching back and forth this match!
he is so slow and unlikable
good job shane !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Does Morra still play professionally? I haven't seen him in ant recent tournaments.
Every big tournament you’ll see him.
The smartest player
Johnny gonna be tilting. What a terrible way to lose getting yourself snookered. Tough luck
Is joe binden commentating this match
crazy for all that work come to a bad result from a good safe
Oh that last rack was kind of sickening.

Let's see your videos showing your pool prowess.

That's my point. If you think 9 ball is so easy and a game for the mutts then let's you run off a few racks.

If he was Italian? 🤦🏻♂️ Someone should inform Danny, an Italian American, that Canada, too, has Italians. 😂
kid thought he had him at the first half

Bull crap bad rack giving himself the 9b to take a 6-5 lead.
This video looks so dated. No wonder Matchroom is doing so well.
