Awesome car great save they are getting so hard to find I just got a 89 country squire wagon that im working on restoring and I also have a 88 grand marquis LS 4 door that i got from the 2nd owner I take it to car shows all the time :)
She's a Panther of course she will start, run and drive were my first thoughts when I saw the thumbnail and thumbnail caption. Ford's Panther Platform was a huge success for Ford during the 80s and 90s especially. The Platform is well known to be bulletproof and a very well designed and engineered platform and one of the longest running if not the longest running automobile platform in automotive history.
I have a 1988. 5.0. I LOVE this car. Just deleted all the EGR, ( suprisingly easy) new timing set, new ignition, fixed ALL of the fusible links( power problems) installed new heater core ( no easy task), new alternator, radiator, plugs, wires cap, rotor, ignition, tuned the timing (using mustang foxbody, seems to have worked very well with some slight differences) you-tube university, 15" American Racing wheels, new shocks all the way around, fuel pump ( recommend Carter). This baby gets it on pretty well. 75mph to 100+ happens real quick now. Great mileage, the power I want, and rides like its on glass. I have also aquired an '86 Ford LTD. Gorgeous car. 5.0, 8.8, power everything....it sat for over 20 yrs. They always seem to start and run like nothing ever happened.

I had an 88 Grand Marquis...the exhaust on it was rusted out in the same exact spot yours was. Miss that car.

Been driving my 88 for 17 years. Still going strong. One of the best cars ever built. Got the Canadian stickers too!
Straight pipe this baby and it’ll sound badass with just two pipes coming from each manifold and out the sides
It definitely will be getting a new exhaust soon, can't say what just yet.
Got one just like it. Used to drive it.Want to fix it, I miss having RWD and leg room. Fun car to corner.
