I believe this is the case for any vehicles that offer armor plating options where it offers no real protection but only serves to obscure your vision. I recently bought the Weaponized Tampa and I knew the armor plating was only cosmetics but I wanted more detail on such a bland vehicle otherwise.
Nice PSA. And a statement on how good the armored Kuruma is for PvE. One question about the Nightshark and sticky bombs though: Is it still possible to blow up the entire Nightshark in one go if you're holding a sticky bomb and someone shoots at it, making it explode?
In my opinion this video only applies if the night shark is your primary mode of transport. Otherwise the night shark is now just a transportation/troll vehicle in general. Imani tech vehicles are better in every aspect no matter what you’re dealing with
I've got 2 night sharks and none have armour. I rarely see people with armour on. Kinda wished it was something that would help more than 50% of players but kt wouldn't even do that
I was hunted constantly by one these in my Toreador a few weeks ago. If they weren't making me roadkill when they did manage to destroy my Toreador, they were rather effortlessly killing me with the front mounted guns.
the front machine guns are busted what lol. almost every vehicle has intended uses. the nightshark is so heavy you can pin vehicles and hold the trigger and the explosion they produce wont blow up your nighyshark cause of the armor.
I love how they nerf the oppressor out of its skin but they think the night shark is acceptable, being able to take a whole collage of missiles and being almost impossible to shoot the driver out of the window 😍😍
You're definitely my go to for all vehicles and flying content. I only wish i could fly against you for fun. No one does aerial combat for fun anymore. Less griefers as well so cant really go around being a vigilante protecting peoples cargo. Oh well. Still got a whole new game to lookk forward to.
I use the plating and never have an issue. When I’m driving this thing I don’t feel like fighting. The nightshark is my turtle in the shell mode. Just juke people out and spam snacks. lol they give up
Someone tried running me over in his nightshark last night. I dodged him. He then got out to kill me on foot. I killed him with explosive slug and drove off in his nightshark lol
However in Free aim, it's quite....a foe. But despite that I only put said plating if the combat area is filled with bullets and rockets and I want to get out of there pronto and you forgot a fact about the nightshark, It's the fastest and most armored vehicle in gta online so I think if it was fully bulletproof I know everyone would complain so I think it's rarity is a good thing. Though you have a point Mr. Ghillie.
“Fastest and most armored” is very false. The Virtue has similar explosive resistance and is worlds faster, the MOC and Acid Lab are worlds ahead in the defensive department. The only thing the Nightshark excels at is cheap ground griefing by repeatedly running people over
I am guilty of this. Mostly to recreate an IRL vehicle. However I also am on PC and is not a PVP person, so I rarely use it to begin with. The only time I use it is when Rockstar release a Business Battle loot, where it is useful for me to escape safely.
Every time I fight a griefer in a Nightshark they all do the same braindead bs aka *Try to run you down and shoot you with the horrendous MGs just to get shot out instantly*
especially in auto aim lobbies too. like they actually think they protect them when I guarantee they've tried the same shit a thousand times before and died the same way. you'd think people realise the windows don't actually do anything
I disagree, it certain circumstances perhaps. What I like to do is park in between two objects, a tight alley for instance. Then proceed to keep shooting whatever crosses until the police show up. Then I can literally just sit there as long as I want and keep destroying cop cars and farming RP as long as I want. In pvp, why would sit around in any vehicle? Also, its a fast vehicle, so how are you going to hit it with C4 20 times to blow it up?? Your argument is circumstantial and not factual. Even in this video, you had to have a friend sit there while you slowly shot at him with a shotgun 6 times through the window to kill him.
@@X-Lord_Tuls_A-X__Mr-M I disagree. It’s not like I’m gonna be holding the sticky forever and most times it’s against other explosive vehicles not bullets.
Some idiots don't understand how they can use Nightshark. 1-It's a explosion resistanced vehicle, requires 26 homing rockets to destroy. This basically gives more advantage against rocket users with or without platings. So Nightshark is for players who drives cars and performs Drive-bys but can't do anything because of getting exploded usually. 3-Nightshark plating covers nearly complete, but you can kill with them properly. Only difference between RC cars are you can kill the driver. AI have confirmed aimbot, so don't get suprised if you die against AI even you are driving that car. Weapon opportunities are huge while fighting against those players. Even a Mk.II pistol/revolver does the work. Or use FP + Mk.II special Carbine for 100% full auto accuracy. Aim sessions doesn't matter, imo console players are using this on Free aim servers.
Very interesting. I must say having more payload and skill overpowers having armor, low skill and less payload. Hell even equally skilled, I'd bet money on my ruiner vs most nightsharks.
Nightshark plates: basically nothing Insurgent pick up custom: litterly nothing if you're not gunning Half track: no difference, basically a haunted windshield
I personally feel that auto aim should not work when targeting people in vehicles. At least land vehicles. I understand that the person in the vehicle has the advantage because they are faster and have more armor ect. But that doesn't take away from the fact that all the person on foot has to do is just look at you with an ar or 1st person combat MG and you will probably die. Meanwhile the person in the vehicle has to free aim thier weapons. Don't know about you but manual aim vs aimbot will go to the aimbot 90% of the time.
I was thinking it was preference, based on your intentions with this vehicle. But when I saw the hitboxes through the armor plating, I was surprised. Rockstar cannot do one thing right. Car modifications make no sense, Mclaren F1 GTR, 2 liveries. 550k camry, can't lower it. The jubilees interior? Just look at it..
You still play in assisted aim ghillie of course you would say that , if somebody wanted to run people over in free aim to get kills the armored plating would work
Thats why I put a sticky bomb on the front and hold A to to crouch while driving I never had a problem with the armor plates. Also have a non armor plated but don’t like it cuz I die more.
In 95% of situations, it takes far too many hits with sticky bombs to kill a fully evasive Nightshark before it can reach a garage or whatever. Removing window plates makes sense if you actually _want_ the option of fighting back. Ghille is just assuming everyone does, and that's an oversight. If you're truly committed to peace, plates on for that slightly better defense front and back makes the most sense, period, full stop.
plates do nothing and take away everything. 8 C4 is nothing especially when you consider how much the nightshark gets thrown about by explosives. and not to mention if you have no plating you can throw your own C4 to throw the enemy nightshark away. you just suck if you use plates there's 0 use cases for it
@@yes_lad Even the video up there arguing against it demonstrates that the front and back plates do work. Try to keep up, buddy. Pure imagination for you to claim '8 stickies is nothing.' Sorry guy, I've played this game for a decade. To get hit by 8 stickies in 95% of situations, you have to stay and fight. So don't stay and fight. It works fine, almost every time. But I've been thinking about getting rid of the armor, especially after seeing this. Looks like it's more decorative than anything else and I do like the way it looks - until I try to drive in 1rst person.
No, you're using the Nightshark incorrectly. The smart players use the armor plating and place remote sticky bombs on their exterior then detonate the remote bombs as they drive by their enemy in close proximity.
While i definitely agree that the non armored variant is better, I think the armor plating appeals to the Mk2 Noobs/no skill griefers who can just reverse you into a wall over and over with virtually no ground defense.
As a private lobby enjoyer who does Nclub and Counterfeit missions, I find the armour windows very useful + if u remove armour plate, you loose the MG(I am not sure of that). As an absolute Tank of a vehicle Night shark is, I never need to worry about shooting enemies through windows. I can transport my goods to objective without any problems.
Tbh when I’m running people over with my nightshark I’m not hitting them with the side of it😂, they always gonna get met with the front side which is hard to shoot through and it works the best like that. They not gonna have time to shoot my side windows. I think I’ll stick with my armor plated windows they more OP. And it makes tryhards mad, they can’t beat my nightshark, especially on foot😂
Im pretty sure the fmj rounds go straight through these and since our player holds about 7 assault rifles, one of them should have fmj rounds and there you go. Works good especially in auto aim 😂 Or spawn a bike and use the emp launcher, then they have no where to go 😂

insurgent at least has the argument that you can have the gunner and you have mines for enemies behind you but even then it's still not really worth it
I have 2 nightsharks from the time they made it free. One has the armored windows, the other doesn't
What date did that happen
@@jrsleepy-4kt No idea. It was somewhere in 2018 though lmao
its now on the podium
I remember you saying on stream that you were gonna make an updated video on the Nightshark. 😆
I still use armor plates on my nighshark because i mostly use it for trolling and a getaway vehicle rather than a counter to anything or a fighting vehicle
My pvp vehicle is a toreador cause I've been getting better with it over time and its also just more fun for me to use
A night shark without plating can kill a toreador with only 2 sticky bombs.. assuming the driver is actually competent.
@CMDR_Vile i know but like i said i don't use my nightshark for pvp i use it for trolling and getting out of an area where people are fighting when i don't wanna get involved
'trolling' in what way? and how do the plates help you 'troll' in a way that no plates wouldn't help
@@koa6820 I'm just saying, if you run into a night shark without plates it can really mess your toreador up. On the other hand if you run into one with plates on it is pretty much defenseless against the toreador..
@yes_lad ramming peoples cars, putting sticky bombs on the front and ramming people and blowing them up, running people over at full speed for the hell of it. And the armor plates at least on the front help me to not get shot out as easily when i try and ram people compared to no plates.
Flare gun as a driveby weapon is funny against the broomstick bois
Getting rid of the armor plating restores that joy
I believe this is the case for any vehicles that offer armor plating options where it offers no real protection but only serves to obscure your vision. I recently bought the Weaponized Tampa and I knew the armor plating was only cosmetics but I wanted more detail on such a bland vehicle otherwise.
very good video, you have clarified many things for me and it is very well explained 😁👍
Nice PSA. And a statement on how good the armored Kuruma is for PvE.
One question about the Nightshark and sticky bombs though: Is it still possible to blow up the entire Nightshark in one go if you're holding a sticky bomb and someone shoots at it, making it explode?
with the plating you can just outdrive the person chasing you. Use it as a defensive vehicle to get away.
As a PC player, I lament this, because no armor can stop a modder teleporting you to cayo perico. Which is every 2 minutes.
I’ve been trying to find a nightshark with F1 wheels for so long, I want it so bad!!! Love the content Ghillie!
I thought about this a few weeks ago when it happened to me in a similar way and it's just better to have something to fight back
In my opinion this video only applies if the night shark is your primary mode of transport. Otherwise the night shark is now just a transportation/troll vehicle in general. Imani tech vehicles are better in every aspect no matter what you’re dealing with
Better yet use an imani tech vehicle instead. Nobody can lock on to you, you get actual bullet resistant windows, faster, and can still use weapons.
I've got 2 night sharks and none have armour. I rarely see people with armour on. Kinda wished it was something that would help more than 50% of players but kt wouldn't even do that
No one ever said that ultimate secret ever!! Thx for sharing your wisdom...
When the nightshark first released i put the plates on, found out i couldn't use my weapons, drove right back in and took them off
Stopping kids from saying first
Edit: do I have to delete this comment bc holy shit the replies don’t like this comment
Thank you!
Your welcome
God bless dude 😂 you're doing a a great service for the RUclips community. 😄👍
@@PabloHernandez-gl5ijRUclips needs to remove them from saying first.
They still said it :(
I was hunted constantly by one these in my Toreador a few weeks ago. If they weren't making me roadkill when they did manage to destroy my Toreador, they were rather effortlessly killing me with the front mounted guns.
You can still attach sticky bombs to your night shark and kamikaze your intended targets, right? 🤔
the front machine guns are busted what lol. almost every vehicle has intended uses. the nightshark is so heavy you can pin vehicles and hold the trigger and the explosion they produce wont blow up your nighyshark cause of the armor.
Yeah most air combat nowadays is just someone grabbing a Mk 2 Oppressor sadly. Not like it was in 2017 sadly :(
@@GhillieMaster exactly 😞
I use the plating and never have an issue. When I’m driving this thing I don’t feel like fighting. The nightshark is my turtle in the shell mode. Just juke people out and spam snacks. lol they give up
1:38 teleport ☝🏽🤓
Someone tried running me over in his nightshark last night. I dodged him. He then got out to kill me on foot. I killed him with explosive slug and drove off in his nightshark lol
Cool story bro
The only thing the Nightshark excels at is cheap ground griefing by repeatedly running people over
@@DanielSilva-fy6bo I meant in BOTH departments
I Respect What You Are Saying You Make A Persuasive Arrangement And A Very Good Point❤😊
What secondary color do you use on your nightshark?
I learned something new thanks for sharing this info Ghillie
Funny, you pay him money monthly and he doesn’t even like your comment. Hahhahaha
@@hamster_bro1 sound like you’re mad XD
Even if you put sticky bombs the night shark takes MANY of them before even getting blown up. I’ll take the little extra bullet protection.
They add up fast. Only takes around 9 or so to blow it up
It only takes 9 sticky bombs lol😂😂😂
Ghillie i literally only use sticky bombs in my Nightshark cuz of you
1 gun shot to that sticky bomb and you die, only using sticky bombs is a trap.
@@X-Lord_Tuls_A-X__Mr-M I disagree. It’s not like I’m gonna be holding the sticky forever and most times it’s against other explosive vehicles not bullets.
Whenever see people try to kill me in one with them just pull the mini gun out and boom
Nah u need to be more creative my way is EMP launcher > stun gun > melee weapon of your choice.
I will do the same thing jack
Nightshark plates: basically nothing
Insurgent pick up custom: litterly nothing if you're not gunning
Half track: no difference, basically a haunted windshield
I think they should allow you to use drive by weapons with the window plating.
Virtue over night shark any day its just better for 90% of scenarios
You still play in assisted aim ghillie of course you would say that , if somebody wanted to run people over in free aim to get kills the armored plating would work
Not when the minigun exists
That NPC was helping the cops at the end. Smh.
You generally have to get the Shark wedged and stuck somewhere to get hit by 8 stickies.
@@CognizantCheddar the front and back plates have the TINIEST bit of protection, unless it's an actual new player then anyone with a brain will simply move the cross hair to the gap and instakill. and not to mention someone can jump on a small wall or any bit of cover and you can't kill them because guess what, you have shitty windows and can't use any guns
@@yes_lad It's more than tiny, it's exactly how much the model shows, obviously, and in free aim lobbies it's difference making, because you can hold the duck button while driving and be mostly covered by the bottom part of the front plate.
It is what it is. You can pretend whatever you like, but I don't have to pretend with you, I've played the game, i know what the facts are. 🙄
Fin
@@CognizantCheddar in free aim everyone uses the minigun at which point you are just dead lol. auto aim you get aimbotted out even with windows. in free aim you get annihilated by a minigun the frame their cross hair even glances over the gap
My man on another great tip vid
Should I buy this or Buffalo STX?
I just ram the hell out of people with the thing while blasting the air horn I installed in it to distract them. Then I get out and use it as cover as I go to my AR. But I've been thinking about getting rid of the armor, especially after seeing this. Looks like it's more decorative than anything else and I do like the way it looks - until I try to drive in 1rst person.
Can we just put Imani on every regular street car, Rockstar? It be nice to drive my dominator in peace for once
Im not a huge fan of modded vehicles.
But damn the nightshark looks amazing with f1s
Can you use nightshark in missions?
Yes. It's not special, so it's not restricted.
@@xiori01 thank you
No, you're using the Nightshark incorrectly. The smart players use the armor plating and place remote sticky bombs on their exterior then detonate the remote bombs as they drive by their enemy in close proximity.
FMJ rounds don’t care about either, they just want in 😂💯
there's no advantage to using FMJ rounds against a nightshark, regardless if it has window plating or not
I put sticky bombs on my front and back bumper so don't need to throw them it's already loaded and ready.
I use the armour plating just for the look. I know they're ineffective.
"The best defense is a good offense"
Is that just cosmetic B's the whole time???? Will the armor be the same??
While i definitely agree that the non armored variant is better, I think the armor plating appeals to the Mk2 Noobs/no skill griefers who can just reverse you into a wall over and over with virtually no ground defense.
They have secondary window plates for a reason 😂
As a private lobby enjoyer who does Nclub and Counterfeit missions, I find the armour windows very useful + if u remove armour plate, you loose the MG(I am not sure of that).
As an absolute Tank of a vehicle Night shark is, I never need to worry about shooting enemies through windows. I can transport my goods to objective without any problems.
I would love to see them add the imani tech to the karuma and insurgant
Tbh when I’m running people over with my nightshark I’m not hitting them with the side of it😂, they always gonna get met with the front side which is hard to shoot through and it works the best like that. They not gonna have time to shoot my side windows. I think I’ll stick with my armor plated windows they more OP. And it makes tryhards mad, they can’t beat my nightshark, especially on foot😂
Im pretty sure the fmj rounds go straight through these and since our player holds about 7 assault rifles, one of them should have fmj rounds and there you go. Works good especially in auto aim 😂
Or spawn a bike and use the emp launcher, then they have no where to go 😂
FMJ Rounds only work on windows. Not plating.
@@GhillieMaster fr? I swear i remember killing someone in an armored kuruma with them. I think its the fmj, or which ever is the purple one 😂
I just bought this car and upgraded it and then this ups up bruh but quick question I made my first 5 star and I lived with the night shark but with the plating’s so must I take them off or keep them ps I am level 14 so I can’t pick some upgrades etc
I didn’t realize the side plated windows weren’t programmed right, oh wait it’s R* 😒 I had it on for awhile when I 1st got it, but because of the op aimbotting getting shot still, I took them off to fight back. Unless I know explosives are gonna be used, I use the Armored Kuruma against the AI since the windows are 99.9% bulletproof.
So glad i dont use armor plating on it ❤
I have 4 night sharks only one of them has the plates on the windows just for looks but at that I don’t even use it 😅
