For mod pack users, check to see if your pack has the packing recipe for blocks of flint. If it does, you may want to make a slight modification where you put an additon set of brass tunnels with filters between the press and the mixer. The filters would both go on the outlets and it would be Andesite on processing side with iron nugs, gravel, and the blocks of flint on the other. You will need this if you plan on pushing RPM last 64. Edit: For those seeming this, I didn't realise you can set a filter on cauldrons so it always makes a certain product. So, you set the press cauldron filter to Andesite and it will only make Andesite. You then don't need to add additional tunnels on both lines between the press and the mixer. If you want to speed up the system though, I'd recommend either changing the filters so it can allow cobble to enter both tunnels and exit on the gravel and iron nugget line or cover the top of the line. Speeding up the system can cause cobble to fly out of the cobble gen which can end up on the line and clog the system. You will also want to at least double the size of you lava gen as it will run out if you push the speed closer to 100 rpm.
Really like your style of conveying information. Everything is non-rushed, coherent, and just thoroughly explained without spending an overly ornate amount of time on any single thing!
with 2 extra gearboxes, 5 shafts, 2 belts, a brass funnel, and a andesite funnel you can redirect the extra gravel back into the wash chest to be cleaned if you dont want the gravel for other purposes.
I did something similar using a smart chute, 2 belts, 2 encased chain drives, a gearbox, 5 shafts, and 2 funnels. The part of my design I like is it looks almost identical to the one in the video as all the new components are underground. It makes it so it looks nice still in my opinion. I should also add that when you recycle the gravel the farm will be noticeably more efficient.
Great video I would mention to add an Andisite filter on the basin that has the press because if you have 4 gravel in the basin and no iron nuggets, it will press the 4 gravel and make gravel bricks but if you but the ANdsite filter on the export side, it will only ever make Andisite and not gravel bricks.
Just for clarity: Along the sides of the basin on the top there is a filter slot - put the item you want the basin to PRODUCE in that slot. This will prevent it from compressing blocks or using other recipes, and will prevent your factory from getting clogged.
I gave this a try on a mod pack and it works amazing, had to make a SLIGHT addition since the mod pack turned iron nuggets from the gravel into raw iron nuggets but with how well you explained everything and the jei mod I was able to make a mini smelting system for that. All around an awesome video and I hope to learn more from you
I watched a few of your Create tutorials and they all have helped very much, thank you. A way to possibly make your videos even better is to maybe include a schematic to the thing you've built (with Litematica for example), so that people can rebuilt everything even easier. That's really the only improvement that comes to mind.
for anyone having issues with the flint clogging up the system at the washing region, you can change both output filters on both brass tunnels to output flint, and then set the distribution method for the funnel that inputs flint to "prefer nearest" - then, the flint will output into your output chest when there is excess, and you can use a filter and lava to destroy it if need be
Very cool, but I noticed a few things that could be changed to optimise this for survival and use a few less materials. First, at 10:12, the big gears don’t need to be connected by a vertical gearbox, they can do that 90 degree turn without, saving you a gearbox. Second, at 11:44, as weird as it sounds, you can do that weird turn with 2 encased chain drives, which cost a bit less then 2 gearboxes, i think. And finally, if you want to only filter 1 item, you can put that item in the filter slot of, for example the tunnel, directly. The filter list is only needed for when you want to filter multiple items through one tunnel/funnel/etc… hope this helps in the future
A wonderful guide for a very compact farm. This is the first video by you that I have watched. I'm looking forward to checking out the other farms you showcase. Not sure why but I had an issue with belt rotation however, moving the small cog and vertical gear to the third millstone took care of it. I added an output funnel filtered on gravel and used two belts and an input funnel to recycle the gravel that ended up in the final chest. No sense in letting it accumulate when we can just send it through again. Thanks for the wonderful build! It's very much appreciated by those of us just starting out with Create!
Thank you for the tutorial. This definitely helps a lot with this huge build. I’m working on. Maybe I missed it but one thing that I do suggest is taking a piece of andesite, and an andesite alloy. Place the andesite on the pressing basin, and the alloy on the mixing basin. In my case, one of the mods in this pack includes gravel bricks, and flint blocks. If either of those are made it gums up the entire system by putting andesite on the first basin and andesite alloy on the second basin it prevents it from making anything else.
This is great and works wonderfully. I would recommend adding another brass funnel underneath the belt leading directly into a lava pit with a filter for gravel, just after the gravel intake funnel on the first basin. This will remove excess gravel that doesn't get taken into the basin. Then you can collect excess iron nuggets at the end of the belt
I built my own andesite alloy farm a while ago, it was far too huge and was so complex i couldnt use shaders around it as it dropped my FPS to 0. Thanks to this you saved my GPU from death.
Really appreciated this. Works perfect and if I need only andesite, I suppose I will divide up the process so half goes to a chest and half to the alloy production
i threw in some weighted ejectors and two more brass funnels and now the extra gravel that the system makes cycles right back into itself. the final double chest where the alloy is made has a gravel-only funnel on the side with the pipe, leading into three weighted ejectors that toss the gravel back to the first double chest, with another gravel-only filter leading into it. works!
The cobble generator can be compacted and improved by removing the waterlogged stairs and instead waterlogging the drills and placing trap doors under them. On the face that you placed the stairs, you can use trapdoors as a sleeker design to hold in the water flowing from the drills. Because the water can flow into the cobble gen area, it turns into stone because the lava is above it. From my testing, drills break stone faster than cobblestone. It also makes the cobble generator refill faster due to water flowing more quickly than lava. TLDR: by having water flow into the cobble generator, it generates stone instead of cobblestone, which the drills break faster but still produce cobblestone, and it replenishes the stone sooner because the water flows more quickly. The improvement is inspired by Skeej_Inc where I first saw the cobblestone generator design.
Simple but effective also for any excess of gravel you could probably have a brass funnel collected to a large chest place between the smasher and mixer but across the conveyor belt with a filter for gravel so that any excess gravel will be collected into that chest instead of the main one you want for your Andesite alloy collection chest.
This is a good early game andesite alloy farm but it semi automatic (from what i noticed unless it built it wrong). The system eventually will lock itself due to not having enough iron nuggets to make the andesite alloy recipe. To fix this, I routed the excess gravel to a washer. The flint is trashed and the iron goes back into that single chest which feeds it back to the system. So were using our excess gravel efficiently.
This helped a lot with figuring out how some things in create works and i tested the design but... It felt a little slow and there was somehow a large excess of gravel. I got a stack of andesite alloy for every 3 stacks of gravel in the output chest. Maybe it just has to do with the flint but otherwise it was great.
To be able to get rid of the stairs you waterlog, you can instead waterlog the drills and that frees you up to use trapdoors or glass at the front for a way to visually see it working too if you are interested in that
If anyone is watching this now, many mod packs have gravel bricks, flint bricks or one of the two. Please take an andesite alloy and use it on the filter in the second basin and an andesite piece and use it on the filter on the first basin. This will stop the system from gumming up. This is also the reason why you might start seeing iron nuggets in your final chest.
Came back to like: built it with the addition of a return belt for the excess gravel back into the double chest for washing, now i have an excess of iron nuggets, around 16 nuggets per 7 stacks andesite alloy.
thees a few improvements this could have; unnecessary use of chain drives and gearboxes, the chain drives on the drills and the ones connecting the drills' chains drives with the rotation speed controller could be replaced with belts, and also the large cog that is beside the rotation speed controller's large cog can be connected without the vertical gearbox, because large cogs can connect to other large cogs on its axes. the two gearboxes that connect the mechanical pressed can be replaced with chain drives, as chain drives can have chain drives facing upwards and chain drives facing sideways at the same time. more effiecient cobblestone generator by having the drills being waterlogged instead of using the waterlogged stairs. there are probably a few more improvements but these are the improvements i could think on the top of my head but good video anyways
Very nice and neat explanation of the create mod, with exemples on how to integrate it on the builds, cheers ! keep it up like that and thanks for course !
You do not actually need the Single chest at the start, you can spare the resources of it. just make the best 1 longer to the back and let the gravel directly fall on it it works and spares the one extra chest.
calming and beautiful voice, great ideas for vids, also a great knowledge of building and how to use the mod it-self... seems like a possible create series which people would easily love to watch. +1 Subscriber
Altho this works i found out recycling the extreme overproduction of Gravel is helpful, i used mechanical arms as a test design to put back the excess gravel from the output chest into the input chest that goes to washing, this speeds up the Gravel and iron nugget production and does not prevent enough gravel from reaching the andesite press as its only overflow being recycled, Problem is i needed 2 arms since the machine isnt compact enough, maybe redesign this so a belt can be used to recycle the overflow.
idk what i did different but i keep gettig a lot of gravel bricks in my basin for the mixer and i never get any alloy from this its just bricks and i followed this video step by step, redid it 3 times and still bricks. help
you need to set the recipe filter in the first basin from the mechanical press so that it only produces andesite. (press rightclick with an andesite block in your hand on one site of the basin, it shows recipe filter on your screen) then it shoud work
For some reason, the last chest contained too much gravel. Is this how it should be? Apparently flint is found in small quantities, right?) but andesite continues to flow smoothly
There is another option that leaves you with many building materials. Although it is much longer. Cobble grinds into gravel Gravel grinds into 100% sand 10%flint 5%clay if I remember right. Sand haunts into soul sand Soul sand washes into quartz and gold Quarts + cobble makes diorite (I think) diorite + cobbles makes andesite Optional add on is diorite + quartz makes granite.
Fantastic tutorial. My only gripe is the amounts of shafts and gears you show t the beginning are incorrect. Not a big deal as both are easy to make real quick but it still interrupted my process. I will definitely be looking at your other Create tutorials!
As you may know that this being an early game quick farm, is not optimal for example the cobble generator can be far more efficient andyou could add a clause to extract gravel and reroute it through the system
Thanks for the tutorial one thing i noticed was i had to add cobblestone to the filter on the gravel tunnel because every now and then i was getting a blockage with cobblestone guess its missing the mill
I dont know what I did differently, but I get a massive backup of gravel which clogs the first basin. To fix this (in case others get this problem) I added a second fan above the belt with waterlogged leaves and powered it through the millstones. I also extended the gravel generator or the washed side by two more generators set one block sideways from the three you added with a belt underneath and an andesite funnel connected to the double chest. Since the chance isn't 100% when washing, I feel 4 gravel generators for the washing side is more effective. Still slightly backs up with gravel on occasion and requires a manual clean out of the andesite basin. Very confused as to why
I'm playing on the valhelsia 6 modpack and i've followed this tutorial and for the most of it. it's worked. The press is crushing the gravel and flint, however, that's producing gravel bricks not andesite. Which is then blocking up the 2nd basin for the mixer. Resulting in the no alloys. Does anyone know how i can fix this?
I know that this is months ago but, Hear me out. What if you recycle the excess gravel back into the Power washing belt? Thinking what I'm thinking? Edit: It actually works, I get more Andesite Alloy and there is no major bottlenecks. I used Belts to transport the Excess Gravel back into the Power washing Belt and Doubled my Alloy Production
Hi ^^ Im very impressed! Good work! Im just wondering, how that andesite maker basin do not sucking up all the gravel from the belt, and making gravel brick when it have enough for it? Cuz i tried to make an andesite farm in creative, before i started watching that video, and my problem was only that andesite maker always made gravel bricks, and flit bricks for me when it had enough material for that :o
its an amazing video, create is a really cool mod but, its comunity is so small compare to a tech or adventure mods. I'd like to use you video and your build to translate to my Native language (portuguese) and share on my channel. Giving all credits to you, obviously 😅
My windmill bearing isn’t working essentially. I stopped it at one point and it broke off and now I’m getting the message “unmovable block (block name) at (block location) and when I replace the block with a sail or anything it still doesn’t work but my windmills in general work just not with the machine. So what do I do?
It was working perfectly mine for me until it seems the gravels are coming out too fast resulting to the iron nuggets remaining stuck inside the brass tunnels and the flint being unable to enter it since it seems the gravels are all taking the spaces. If I remove the andesite funnel from the chest that releases the gravel, the iron nuggets are now able to come out of the brass funnels and the flint being able to go in. Anyone knows a fix for this? Specifically how to slow down the gravel so that the iron nuggets and flint have the time to come in and out of the brass tunnel.
For mod pack users, check to see if your pack has the packing recipe for blocks of flint. If it does, you may want to make a slight modification where you put an additon set of brass tunnels with filters between the press and the mixer. I threw another brass tunnel with the other splitting the gravel with a belt going back to the double chest. it's clean and cuts down on gravel waste.

Legend, you fixed my issue.
thanks! you just fixed it for me!
I'm sure you know it as well, but the vertical Gear box on the back is redundant. The large cog Is able to be attached to another one horizontally too
Yeah, that bothered me too 😅.
Also, speed controller is hard to come by in early game, I'd rther use water wheel array.
@@SlavaThereshinor just a gear ratio
allows it to be more compact

how so? i don't get it.
Easily the best and clearest survival friendly Create tutorials out there!
i love the calm nature of this video! it's nice and relaxing and also explains things well!!

I was looking for an andesite alloy farm with a proper explanation. Glad I've found it!
I like how compact this farm is, makes it easier to fit in my base.

Thank you! It helped so much getting lots of Andesit :)
i threw in some weighted ejectors and two more brass funnels and now the extra gravel that the system makes cycles right back into itself. the final double chest where the alloy is made has a gravel-only funnel on the side with the pipe, leading into three weighted ejectors that toss the gravel back to the first double chest, with another gravel-only filter leading into it. works!
OMG, your voice sounds exactly like Fabiola from Never Have I Ever. And also insanely handy farm, thank you for it.
Absolutely love your content, keep up the awesome work!!! Your videos have helped me tremendously!!!

Yes stone has a hardness of 1.5 and cobblestone has 2.0, so it will take 25 % less time to mine with a drill.
Thank you! I built this without much issues just following along :)
lol, i just watched this casually
no copying it, just enjoying
Your voice is so calming and reminds me of Zoey from yogscast. Definitely subbing this is therapeutic to listen to and the tutorial is great too!

same flaw for me
Works perfectly for me. Goods rates. Put a brass funnel at the end chest to get rid of the gravel, gets a lot of them fast.

a neat use for the extra gravel would be to add em up for the washing part to make it a bit faster

Thank you ! It's super easy and compact nice job
Had to add a speed controller to get the mixer working. Love this build.
This looks really nice, and I can certainly reinforce that after I built it… only to realise I was on 1.20.1

more effiecient cobblestone generator by having the drills being waterlogged instead of using the waterlogged stairs.
there are probably a few more improvements but these are the improvements i could think on the top of my head

Amazing, exactly what I need!
You have a nice bob ross voice. "We'll just add a few happy little shafts right here." 😅

I love the tutorial and its really helpful but is there a schematic? Yes im that lazy btw
to deal with the gravel surplus, you could probably run that back into the double chest for washing
I thought you were going to start sing at the beginning. 🤣
This is what I've been looking for! Wanting to learn the mod
idk what i did different but i keep gettig a lot of gravel bricks in my basin for the mixer and i never get any alloy from this its just bricks and i followed this video step by step, redid it 3 times and still bricks. help

Cobble grinds into gravel
Gravel grinds into 100% sand 10%flint 5%clay if I remember right.
Sand haunts into soul sand
Soul sand washes into quartz and gold
Quarts + cobble makes diorite
(I think) diorite + cobbles makes andesite
Optional add on is diorite + quartz makes granite.
i tried making it and its crazy i get to have a glass farm, quartz farm, gold nugget farm all in 1
Take a shot each time Tyra says "little"
what a sweet accent to listen to.
One could also waterlog the Drills themselves
Fantastic tutorial. My only gripe is the amounts of shafts and gears you show t the beginning are incorrect. Not a big deal as both are easy to make real quick but it still interrupted my process. I will definitely be looking at your other Create tutorials!
Great Tutorial, Great Video, Great Job !
Im gunna build this later, and probably make some minor modifications
As you may know that this being an early game quick farm, is not optimal for example the cobble generator can be far more efficient andyou could add a clause to extract gravel and reroute it through the system
thank u for this it make me big happy :)
Thanks for the tutorial one thing i noticed was i had to add cobblestone to the filter on the gravel tunnel because every now and then i was getting a blockage with cobblestone guess its missing the mill
if you're some genius child from Asia, you can do some nasty mechanism to get the gravel that you get at the end to come back and redo the process
I dont know what I did differently, but I get a massive backup of gravel which clogs the first basin. Anyone else have gravel bricks being added into the basin? Why is that and how can I fix it?
Welcome back ma'am

I know that this is months ago but, Hear me out.
What if you recycle the excess gravel back into the Power washing belt?
Thinking what I'm thinking?
Edit: It actually works, I get more Andesite Alloy and there is no major bottlenecks.
I used Belts to transport the Excess Gravel back into the Power washing Belt and Doubled my Alloy Production
@TyraLore My windmill is overstressed for some reason, I used 24 sails though and have a wood plank above the bearing
Thanks for the guide Tyra! Could you show us the schematic you use for potato knishes?
the material chest at the start is super scuffed but the farm does work so thanks
at 6:04 that funnel if i place it , the basin keeps turning its output in wrong direction and wrench wont turn it back
THIS WAS SO HELPFUL WTH
This tutorial is very helpful!
what a beautiful voice you got
I tried the tutorial but my mechanical belts are going the wrong way, how do i fix it?
Set the windmill to spin in another direction, u can do it with a wrench i guess
You can DOUBLE the efficiency if you add another fan with water on top of the belt :)
My drills aren’t working they spin but don’t brake the block, and they work on my other farm but not on this one.
I was today years old when I found out that you can use iron to make andesite alloy...
Great job explaining ❤❤
my mechanical press and mixer are not going down into the basins?

Giving all credits to you, obviously 😅
very nice build but i added an extra belt to take the excess gravel back for reprocessing
Works perfectly!
My press and mixer arent going down? please someone help
I wonder if anyone can explain how with mine my press is making flint blocks instead of andesite?
My windmill bearing isn’t working essentially. I stopped it at one point and it broke off and now I’m getting the message “unmovable block (block name) at (block location) and when I replace the block with a sail or anything it still doesn’t work but my windmills in general work just not with the machine. So what do I do?
I'm having issues with the farm throwing cobble blocks everywhere, and it's clogging my belts. Anyone know how to fix this?
good tutorial even if the item count is slightly off
Please make another starter iron farm
I have an issue where the cobblestone generator eventually just throws cobblestone everywhere... For the life of me, I can not figure it out.
am i crazy or did you forgot to explain how to set off the belts
It was working perfectly mine for me until it seems the gravels are coming out too fast resulting to the iron nuggets remaining stuck inside the brass tunnels and the flint being unable to enter it since it seems the gravels are all taking the spaces. If I remove the andesite funnel from the chest that releases the gravel, the iron nuggets are now able to come out of the brass funnels and the flint being able to go in. Anyone knows a fix for this? Specifically how to slow down the gravel so that the iron nuggets and flint have the time to come in and out of the brass tunnel.
