Very similar construction to the old synchros and resolvers. One piece of equipment we have has a resolver assembly with 3 resolvers geared together. Each successive gear has one tooth less that the previous one. There are timing marks on the gears that you align to disassemble. It takes hundreds of turns to get all 3 timing marks aligned to disassemble.
