Good review appreciated your honesty, I absolutely love my gt ,have own the 400 in the past , great kayak. love the gt Storage and compact factor which is important to me and the stability factor, I find it definitely not slow, fast Enough , certainly turns great, I think it's perfect for the inshore fishing, and i think it's underrated as well
They’re definitely loved by a lot of guys and I really enjoyed my earlier kayak fishing from mine. You’ve nailed a great point, if you have limited storage space it’s a great option 👍
Agree with everything you say. GT has some good features - great stability, low weight, tackle pod, short length makes it easy to transport BUT it's paddling performance is poor especially when weather is against you. Even in calm conditions it is slow. If you are going to add the Bixpy then this may be the Yak for you. Otherwise get the 400 or reload.
I bought a Profish GT in February. I'm very happy with it. Absolutely love the stability, length and tackle pod. I honestly can't see myself wanting a 400 or Reload (at least for a while).
I’ve had 5 years now in my GT and you’ve nailed the review. Great kayak for chasing snapper in the shallows. One pro I’d add is the relative ease for loading onto roof racks. The extra windage is a definite consideration so I agree, don’t get caught out in an offshore breeze.
Ease of loading and being shorter for storage would be a key purchase consideration for many. Have to admit with my Reload I take a few rods but mainly use one 😂
Great review, clear explanations, great camera work and editing. I have nearly completed customising my (pre-fire) GT for use on in-shore and fresh-water fishing. A query - where did you get your yellow Fishfinder Spray cover - I have the Rob Forte one but it has no see-through plastic screen cover - and the usual Wairarapa sea-state where I live is generally very "splashy" and I'd like to afford my Lowrance Elite 7 FX as much protection as possible.
I have a 400 Lite. I wrote to Viking several years ago about the mid-handles and balance, needed to move to a more central balance site. Also the rear handles should be a single, easier to carry and even balance. I've joined mine with cord and a piece of hose.

to be honest I think I find it easier to get a longer kayak up on to a roof rack

Gerard, that’s my own design, you can email me lauriepottinger@icloud.com if you want one 👍
I've got a gt, it's awesome. Trying to find a chill pod though is tricky@@!
I’m happy to sell mine if you can’t find one 👍

The reality is small changes like that aren’t cheap to change, is yours the new model?
No, old model. I raised the idea so if any mods to the mould in future, to consider a shift.
Solid video lauz very interesting comparison defenetly think the reload takes the cake
Definitely the best yak for where you’ve been fishing 👍
Great vid thanks mate! 🙌
Cheers bro 👍
Good one Lozza
Many regards from Greece, l have a pro fish reload, in Greece we have waves every three meters, so lam satisfied from my kayak, καλές θαλασσες

@@yakfishfun8441 No I am the only one I bought it in France 6 years ago, it’s very stable and perfect for the Aegean sea, καλές θαλασσες
Aegean Viking 😎
NZ has a lit Snapper fish,.
Sure does, where are you based?
@@yakfishfun8441 USA, calfinornia. Not good compare to NZ
We’re very lucky that we have a lot of coastline relative to our population, fishing improves a lot the more remote I go 👍
@@yakfishfun8441 I bought Snapper from Grocery and it labled from NewZeland. It is very tasty fish, better than any fish.
