Honestly guys I can’t believe twice today I’ve forgotten about the vlog, so You Tube picked a corker of a thumbnail for me. 🤣🤣 Forgot to upload at 5pm, and then uploaded and forgot to add the thumbnail and do the description. I’m going to blame the cold weather. 🙈😄
Hi lovely,I found your channel through your groundwork exercises, I have a 5yr old mare, and we have had SI issues since I bought her in April 24’, bless her she just cracked on but it got to the point she was very unhappy, so had her back and neck x/rayed and found she has OA from C2-c7, but we think it’s only c6-7 that’s really a problem, she ended up having a CT. We’ve had her neck and SI injected and done loads of long-lining which we have found to be the most beneficial thing for her and lots of inhand poles like you do, hope you can get her sorted x x
I feel your pain with your horse Sienna. I have a horse with ongoing lameness . Have had him for 3 years and only rode him a handful of times. Just had a recent vet visit and some things are better some are not. I love him, taking care of him and enjoying him as he is. I’ve given up hope of ever riding him again so he is retired unless a miracle happens. In the meantime I’m putting my energy into finding a new horse to ride. Of course there is added expense but what else is there to do really. We love our lame boy, gorgeous horse just like Sienna. Looks fine on the outside but these are the cards he has been dealt ❤
I’m sorry about your chap. Like you say it’s the card that’s been dealt and you just have to do what you can and keeping giving them the love and care they deserve.
My old mare had so many similar symptoms to sienna! We had everything you can imagine scanned and x rayed over the time, every physio and rehab plan. But she would get to a certain point and would go back to square one just being sore again. Have you had her neck X-rayed? Turns out my mare had a neck fracture after we believe she fell over in the field. Hope you get to the bottom of it x
It’s on my list this year to get her neck x rayed. Sorry about your mare, did she recover? Sienna falls over all the time in the field being a wild child. So she could have easily done something. Thanks for sharing.

@ She’s doing really well thank you, has built up her glutes with a decent top line. She is now trotting in the long-line sessions around the whole arena and has a review this week to see if we can sit back on. If she’s still a little sore will probably inject the left of her neck as we only did the right. But she’s as fit as a fiddle, to the point she was piaffing (of her own accord as a mare in the field was doing zoomies) in our longline session last week, she would never have been able to sit behind like that before, she was a weedy little thing when I bought her, but I thought it was just because she was a KWPN and needed more time to grow and strengthen 😅! Exactly, It’s an expense but if you find something at least you can work on it and if you don’t then you can rule it out xx
@@charlottelouise_equestrian glad to hear your mare is coming along. Fingers crossed it’s a good review this week for your mare 🤞. All this long lining and inhand pole work sessions are great for the horses but I always feel it’s a bonus gym session for us. 😄

That spinal vet is close enough to me, to be an option for my horse.
So nice to see you feeling perky.
Oh that’s good, he seems incredibly knowledgeable and everything he was talking about rang so true with Sienna.

Thanks for sharing your journey with your mare. How is she doing now?
I think I’m going to get Siennas neck x rayed this year for peace of mind.

@ Thank you ☺️ It’s my only gym at the moment 😂, especially in all the layers you have on in this weather, definitely a good way of getting warm
