Let me tell you what.. first all I saw dio live on the Last in Line tour. OMG his stage show was so awesome. I still, at 52, count this as the second best live show I ever saw. This solo is, as far as I'm concerned, is one of the very best ever. Does it shred? No...but its so tasty I can hardly deal with it, Thank you Viv.

Amazing. Vivian has always been one of my top 5 guitar players but I think he's playing better than ever. Band sounds incredible. I'm sure Ronnie would be proud.
Best guitarist of Dio's solo career. Blackmore is the best guitarist Dio ever performed with and that guy Iommi was fantastic. But I do really like Vivian he to me made the band. When he split it never was the same. Dio didn't pay this man hardly what he was worth.

I love seeing players Viv's age evolve and mature. In areas where they might have just burned the fretboard down for the sake of being able, they think through the notes, carefully selecting them, and play them from the heart. This solo isn't as fiery as it might have been on a tour in 1983 or 1984, but it has a sense of style and flavor that he was incapable of pulling off at that time, because nuances come with maturity and experience. I love this guy's playing. He's always been a favorite of mine.
