I've always been fascinated with Mini PCs and SBCs. I have an HP Ultra Slim Desktop at home running Rocky Linux which will run Docker containers. This is something that I've wanted for a daily driver desktop running Windows and Fedora on dual boot, and multi-monitor support out of the box, Minecraft and coding is only what I do. This could just be the Mini PC I need to try, and easy to get too since they're being sold refurbished online.

I have the 3060mini I picked up at a yard sale and it runs smoother and better than my big hp I completely switched and use the mini pc for all my daily needs and I haven't been let down I also do a ton of gaming with not much complaint
Same, it sits under my tv and I use it for emulation mainly and some pc gaming. whatever I wanna play that it doesn't run, I stream it from my "gaming" pc using steam. I've aways been a pc gamer but lately I'm really enjoying more playing sitting on the couch with a controller.
@@Glob3Tech Brick is only 65W so I was sure it wouldn't work but to my pleasant surprise it works, though I believe it's running at lower clocks. Still runs well though
The 8500t has the UHD 630 iGPU which according to Intel, it can output natively 4k@60hz via DP or HDMI 1.4. Regarding the 10bit, I can't see why not. I don't have this pc anymore to test it for you.

The thing is Dell is very pretentios and funny about the BIOS and microdes which means there is a chance that if you put a different CPU (although in the same generation) it might not work. I would tray to ask DELL on the customer support to see if it will work. Let's say you have an i3 8100T and you want to put the i5 8500T. But of you replace it with an identical CPU that that will remove any doubts and it will work.

I would say if you export only 1080p yes the i7 variant should be enough if combined with at least 16gb of ram and SSD of course. But it will not compare to a full desktop that has a dedicated GPU especially in Premier. Depends how much you pay and if you travel then go for the Dell. But just for Premier Pro I would go for a full desktop since it uses CUDA acceleration as well from the GPU.
I don't do much intense 3D game playing, since everything that I enjoy is 2D console games, NES, SNES, Genesis etc. But what I would like to know is --- could I use the 3060 to run Music Software such as Reason 5.0 and Ableton Live 8??? Maybe also Adobe Audition???? My current rig is a very outdated HP Pavilion Slimline from 2009, and it seems to run Reason & Ableton pretty okay, but it struggles with even the most basic 2D games in Retro Arch. They run fine if NO SHADERS are turned on, but even the most low demand CRT shader like ZFAST will cause the frames to dip or sound to crackle and stutter.

Stock it's 75w which means that there are plenty of low profile powerfull GPUs like the the GTX 1050ti - amzn.to/30cP4F3 But, these DELLs have custom stuff and apparrently the limit is around 25w to 35w.l which is a shame if true for your system as well since you have such a good CPU. Technically yes. But the bios and microcodes that come with them are very pretentios, like all custom ones from Dell. If you can first have the CPU, test it and then buy it, that would be ideal.

I find it odd not to make these standard on workstation pc of this caliber. But hey ho, their 'toys' :)

😅😅 It's tricky with Dell's since not all of them officially accept GPUs over 75w TDP, as in the ones that have no PCIe connectors. These being said, I never tried it myself but from what I have seen online, I think you need to get a 6-pin splitter adapter for the gpu to power it. 👍 If you make it happen, plese let me know how it went.
Since I tested the 8500t, it should be a nice upgrade since you will gain 2 more cores over the 6500t and the upgraded iGPU which you saw in action in the video. Plus a 9500t has the same iGPU series as the 8500t so this will be the best bang. Now the question is if lets you upgrade since Dell is quite conservative on upgrades. How much is a second hand Intel Skull Canyon ? Some have the HQ variant laptop CPUs with either RX Vega chips or Iris Pro which are above the UHD series.

@@Glob3Tech the optiplex 3060 that i have, has only 4gb ram 2666mhz and CPU is i5-8500 @ 3ghz, with Seagate 500gb HD 7200rpm SATA (model ST500DM009-2F110A ) and onboard video intel UHD 630 but my system is extremely slow , i can't watch youtube in higher than 720p because it freezes at times and the blue light on the front of the mini tower flashes all the time like its calculating or searching for something certain website are very slow like news sites NYPOST, Dailymail etc any idea what is going on with my computer and why its so slow ?
@@TL.... Yes, you need at least 8gb of ram. Better yet 16GB if you can. Then another must upgrade is the SSD. It's very easy to clone if you get a samsung one. I have a tutorial in my 'quick tech tips' playlist to show you what to do. I presume you have Windows 10 which is optimised for SSD.

From what I remember it behaves something like an older i7 regarding video edition for example. I think it scores very similar to an 6700 i7 in R20.
By "Emulation" I assume you mean the standard 2D consoles from the 80s & 90s... NES, SNES, Sega Genesis etc.

Unfortunatly no. There is no dedicated gpu just the integrated one in the cpu.

Internally, nothing unfortunatly. The cpu has the igpu.
Internal Intel 630 graphics handles 4K but not HDR on this machine.

Currently looking to get a 7050 micro with i5 6500t and 16 gigs of ram. Would that be good enough to play games like forza, halo or cod?

Yes you can but it will not work in dual channel as in it will loose a bit of performance.
