It's call Dye Sublimation Printing, there are 3 primary color "ribbons" and a laminate ribbon. It stead of an ink jet head, there is a heat transfer head. Heat transfer is what moves the dye and laminate from the ribbon to the "film". Image quality with dye sublimation printing can be amazing.
Great Video, I bought this camera a few months ago and never opened it, and then came across this video. So excited to know how to use my camera now. Thank you so much.
I had bought this camera for my son, but I KINDA think it MIGHT be a BIT of a hefty Birthday gift for a 7 year old, so I'm thinking about just just using it myself. Kinda wish I had ordered the white one now😅lol
I am thinking about getting this. I thought zink was going to die to be honest. When Polaroid did a comeback I thought it was going to kill zink. Then Kodak came out with their own comeback. Though not as popular. I think I am finally ready to try zink. I have a Lomography Instant Camera. Honestly not worth the money. The battery runs out and costs $15.00 to replace. And instax quality is just not as great in my eyes. LOL. Getting close to buying the Kodak Mini Retro 2...almost almost almost...just checking what else is available...but crossed out Polaroid and Fujifilm for sure... Anyway thanks so much! the quality looks good, really want to check that new zink photo.
I don't understand what you mean with kodak and zink?? It's not zink technology it's 4 pass technology - with yellow, magenta and cyan by lastly putting a protection coat over the photo film to prevent the ink from smudging.... zink technology is used with ink in the photo film and using heat - not the case for this product
Hey so um I need to understand something Is it optional to print down the photo or not? Like is there a button to let it inside like any other digital cam or you have to print it?
Good review! Btw, here in Indonesia its rare for the retro edition, and there are only the mini shot 2 combo. Is it the same with the retro one that just only the exterior different or is it also different in spec?
So far that has not been an issue with this camera or the film. I believe the way it works is that it is photo paper and when you click print it starts the printing process.
You're absolutely great but I have to say when you review a product you should talk about both the pros and cons instead of trying to sell the product and make the audience feel like this is an advertisement not a product review. Thank you non the less, this was helpful.
Is there anyone having a problem after a while with the Mini Shot have an "Photo Pickup Failed" Error and can't print at all even after i replaced the cartridge? Sometimes it even show "Please Replace Cartridge" Error after i change it to a new cartridge ..

I was wondering. I knew it wasn't a tiny injet. That would have been hilarious tho.

I'm wondering that too. That's the breaking point for me if I should get it or not
@@Michael_-qy4fu You can't

That’s what they used to do back in the day. They add yellow, magenta, and cyan. 🙂
This was a really nice review, thank you
Can you save photos with out having to print them
same question. do you know?
This was pretty helpful, thanks! Can you take multiple shots using the camera without printing each one or you must cancel or re-take a photo?
Yes!
I had my eye on this one and a Poloroid instant cam.. Can someone help me out in these two options? Which one is better?
How long does the battery last? it can be used with the connected Power Bank?
Is there a way to know how many prints still left in the camera/printer? Thank

How does it compare to the fujifilm instax mini liplay?
Do we have to replace cartridges in it?
Did you have problem with cartridges? I found many videos with print failure.

Good review!

That’s interesting, I’m actually not sure because I don’t know much about the other one.

I have this camera and my photos are not very clear at all? Is there settings on the camera that help clear it up?
Hey, can you save the photos instead print? Trought the app or any internal memory?
Hey do you know how to insert the cartridge because when I insert a new cartridge, it's keeps saying cartridge failed or isn't picking up
Does it take a SD card ?
oh I love how wacky it sounds!
Can you take a picture on the camera and transfer it digitally to your phone?
This is such a helpful and awesome video. Very helpful on making up my mind. I am definitely getting this.
Thanks! I recently got a pink one :) Only in South Korea collaborating with Yanolja. Can't wait to receive it!!
Upto what distance it captures photo and does it needs more light how many photos we get
can the photos taken on the camera be sent to your phone?
Did u get an answer because I was thinking about the same thing
@@jacobruiz6265 sadly no you csnt save the photos you take on the camera or send it to any device, you have to send it right away
@@jacobruiz6265 p
it seems gud but the photo size could have been a little more bigger
Thanks for this review!
Does light effect the film when it's going in and out? Should it be covered up some when printing?
So far that has not been an issue with this camera or the film. I believe the way it works is that it is photo paper and when you click print it starts the printing process.
Cool video! Do you need an ink to put inside??
No, it does not require ink, just the film packs.
What happen if you grab the foto before it ends the printing process? Let´s say that y want the orange plant.
can u print something from phone?
Yes photo is really really good
How do we refill the cartridges Or ink
It doesn’t take ink, you just buy a new film pack when one is out 🙂
just got a yellow one today ,
I wanna delete my photo on gallery but i can't . Pls tell me how in the kodak mini retro 2
What type the film use? Does it use fujifilm or the zink paper?
It uses its own kind that Kodak sells, you can get it anywhere online and at the link in the description.

Can you save the pics on phone memory
Can I store the photos I took from this camera? I think this camera is a perfect fit for me to take photo on a trip!!!
I’m not sure there’s internal memory, though you can take photos on your phone and print them.
@@NReluctant thanks for the response!
Is it possible to save the photo to your phone without printing it?
Take screen shot if that’s possible
Great review! You should really change out that air refresher, though 😅

How long does the battery last?
You can shoot multiple packs of film before it needs charged.
Is the focus fixed or automatic?
It is automatic.
Since it is actually printing the photo, do you need to buy ink or just the film?
Just the film, you never have to buy ink.
the best video thx I go buy 😻🥰😻💕
Just get myself one.
Instax is an actual light photograph, this is just like your home printer. There's absolutely no 'magic' to this.
“another layer of clarity”
means “different ink” smh
it literally says which CYMK ink its printing at a time
I❤️U
oh thats funny, it‘s actually just printing the picture.
I still like instax more.... a lot more.
