I know this is easier said than done but people need to take ranked less seriously. This patch just reverted to how the game way pre ranked but now reveals your hidden mmr and has a per hero mmr. Trying new hero’s won’t be a problem because the ranks are some what hero dependent. If you are good enough to get a rank it will come naturally regardless. The issue is 99% perspective. Few people are just absolutely trolling to ruin games and when people goof off often their rank will reflect that. TLDR the game is in alpha and separating the player base was an experiment. As someone who’s hit top 500 in multiple games over thousands of hours the difference between ranked and unranked is way overblown

Only thing with this new change so far in ranked ive had good comms and casual it doesnt matter now all my games are hit or miss for people that wanna work together
Lots of people super upset, but this game is early development. It's crazy how playable the game is at the moment; enough for people to treat it like a finished game getting constant re-balance. Personally, I think this is kinda dangerous because it blurs the line for players. I really do often forget I haven't paid a dime for this game and there is no monetary gain for this game yet. I'm super optimistic for the game because so many people are super passionate about their takes and saying stuff like "the game is ruined." Like every 2 weeks the game gets a pretty big change, so we're in a constant state of "it's so joever -> we're so back" for a game that's early development. I do think the whole testing system is odd though. Like making small/slight balance changes week over week only for a huge change every 2 weeks is kinda odd? I know balancing is impossible with this system, so I'm assuming thats just done to keep people playing the game. I just hope it doesn't interfere with the resulting launch state of the game. I understand the subtle map changes to really hammer out maximizing the map quality; the heroes, not so much.

I'm not really a fan of casual and ranked being combined. I really liked the separate ranked queue, I felt that the quality of matches was consistently much higher. Additionally, I am MUCH higher mmr/rank than my friends who I still like to play with. It kinda sucks we can only queue in ranked together now, it's honestly kinda a shit deal for any of the Randoms who get queued with us who may want to have a more serious ranked match but it's just me and my friends goofing off. Were people having problems with queue times in ranked? I was in high phantom-mid ascendant, and I don't think my queue times were ever more than like a minute or two.
I should add that I am assuming this is probably only going to be combined while the game is in pre-release. Hopefully, on release, we'll have a separate solo/duo ranked queue and a separate casual mode.
You can still hire people to boost you? Just have them play from a customer account that is similar MMR. (For Duo Boost) and for single boost they just play on your account.
I don't know if this true or not. But someone suspected that the game has like a hardware detection for matchmaking to prevent smurfing. Because they tested themselves playing with a new fresh account and then got rank similar to their main account. They also compared to other pros like MikaelS who also got Eternus on his fresh account. Even though it can be because of the player's performance, the game didn't even have that much data to prove that they're belong on said rank. I assume both are playing both of their accounts (main and fresh) on their own PC, hence their fresh account got similar rank like main account. So maintaining an account with a low MMR requires them to play bad, which also might affected their main account.

I fucking love it because its been so miserable to only solo queue for the last few weeks, causing tons of people to leave the game. High elo basically stopped playing overall due to long queue times. I understand its gonna suck when they mix casual and ranked players but pretty sure its just temporary because of the playerbase size until they have a better ranked system in place
@@AverageJonas Totally get it on it being an issue on the top end of the rank queue especially with rank redistribution making the top ranks smaller. I was Phantom 3 before rank redistribution and the queue times were never bad. I hope it’s temporary like you said, it’s still alpha after all, and they launch with a solo and group mode for ranked like League of Legends for example. Still good to experiment!
Spirit amp is your base spirit power getting amplified Procs are basically when you hit someone with gun or abilities & grants you a buff or debuff to other enemies
I feel like whenever the dev added something, they make it a super broken thing and then refined it later. Same goes to Shiv back then and then Mirage.
Silencer looks broken.... as in they threw it on the floor and stamped on its remains. Correct me if I am wrong, but 1.1% build up per bullet requires a minimum of 91 bullets to fully proc yeah? So unless your weapon is automatic it is basically useless. Also once you finally build it up it finally does something for only 2/6 seconds for the silence/spirit dmg debuff?
Disagree with update about matchmaking rework. If you play hero’s that take a minute to get online (IE haze) and your whole team doesn’t give a shit about MMR) it automatically hurts you to the point if you are playing for rank, then you better only play hero’s that can hard carry and end quick.
@@jashhandy358 And see this is the issue since technically you are both right. There are players who don't give a rip because (of many reasons) its a game in early dev that is probably going to reset, but who is to say @gears542 is wrong for caring about his MMR even at this point? People get enjoyment from games in different ways. Some from being goofy and casually playing, and others by being competitive and seeing improvement/growth. That is reason why there are ranked and "unranked" (hidden mmr masks this for most games) ques. Both perspectives are right, because who is to determine the "correct" way to have fun in a game?
@@SamSyncedI think you are very correct but in terms of this game I think the choice to merge the ranked q with unranked was the right one. Imo I think the match quality and queue times will be better and it’ll be healthier for the game as it is early access
@@jashhandy358 I think your point has a lot more validity than people understand. As much as I get people caring about their rank, the current objective of the devs is to gather data and insight on their game before launch, meaning they want people to play as many games possible. If merging the queues lowers queue times and let's them develop better through gathering more data, that should be their main priority. The game isn't a live service title at the moment, even though some players want to treat it that way. It's an alpha TEST, meant to buffer out issues. That doesn't mean I don't think they should have separate queues, but a lot of players seem to have forgotten the entire point of why they have access to the game in the first place.
I’m going to be honest here: I don’t like the changes to the matchmaking system at all. It actively creates a hostile environment between players who want to take the game seriously and those who just want to play casually. That’s not fun for anyone. Additionally, the core MMR feature and how rank is awarded feel very broken. From what I understand-and based on what I’ve seen on my own profile-you can make the game think you’re at an Archon or higher skill level by playing fewer heroes and ensuring that most of your win-to-loss ratios with those heroes are positive. This new system actually discourages players from experimenting and trying new characters. After all, what’s the point of playing with a new character if it’s going to hurt my overall rank? In conclusion, I don’t think this change will last long. It’s only going to divide and alienate the player base. And when you have a game that’s still in beta, you need players to stick around and want to keep playing even after the game’s official release.
I have never touched ranked nor did I want to play it cuz of all the sweating and overall less forgiving environment and now I am being forced to which makes me not want to play. I feel as though of the fun is gone, honestly its really sad. This whole change feels really abrupt and forced most likely due to the recent huge wave of criticism towards ranked since it was so basic. So Valve said: "Oh ranked is not good? The queues suck and dont have enough players to make lobbies with players of equal skill? Just force everyone to play it, that will fix it."
Would love if Valve re-wroded the "This game is now safe to leave without penalty" literally the most broken thing in the game. People think they wont get MMR and Win/Loss by leaving.

Still good to experiment!
what does "8% spirit amp Proc" and "18% spirit lifesteal Proc" mean ? I don't get it
Spirit amp is your base spirit power getting amplified
Procs are basically when you hit someone with gun or abilities & grants you a buff or debuff to other enemies
@@luckyisland9914 ho ok, so the french traduction is bad cauz it's translated to "chances"
@@roofishighcorp.associates2020 👍
Fairly sure spellslinger is bugged
the 3% buff not apply at all
Unfortunate they nerfed bebop heals. it was fun fully upgrading ultimate and being an orbital laser
Its not really a nerf to bebop specifically but a readjustment to every healing effect in the game
@@AverageJonas 100% to 33% is a huge nerf if you played him with lifesteal... the 1v5 is no longer.
@@ItsBadRatits 80 percent now, not 33😂
@@AverageJonas in the patch notes it literally says 100/33%. its in your own video man.
56:05 Okay that makes sense
Haze looks even more ridiculous wtf
There’s no way Arcane Surge stays like that. It’s either getting nerfed hard or isn’t going to effect ults
it's so perfect for paradox time bombs
@ yeah those are probably massive
So good for Dynamo and Pocket ultimate
I feel like whenever the dev added something, they make it a super broken thing and then refined it later.
Same goes to Shiv back then and then Mirage.
i feel the beginning of the end with this update.
that's a lotta damage
Silencer looks broken.... as in they threw it on the floor and stamped on its remains. Correct me if I am wrong, but 1.1% build up per bullet requires a minimum of 91 bullets to fully proc yeah? So unless your weapon is automatic it is basically useless. Also once you finally build it up it finally does something for only 2/6 seconds for the silence/spirit dmg debuff?
It's adjusted for base fire rate so it doesn't actually build up that slow. That said this is still a nerf from previous silencer
Disagree with update about matchmaking rework. If you play hero’s that take a minute to get online (IE haze) and your whole team doesn’t give a shit about MMR) it automatically hurts you to the point if you are playing for rank, then you better only play hero’s that can hard carry and end quick.
Or just try not to care so much about mmr in a game that is still in early dev. 🤷🏻♂️
That’s the kind of mentality that I’m talking about
@@jashhandy358 And see this is the issue since technically you are both right.
I think haze may be broken... LOL
just had the first game of the day, mcginnis sucks to play against
gun buff wasnt needed at all its bullshit
The Parries have gotten even worse LOL. Super buggy
1. Literal beta game
2. Casual always had hidden mmr anyways
The game isn’t even released, this is the time for them to try things. Holy moly some people just 😢
@@scxizm It is an Alpha not a beta
People sweat in casual just as much.
@@47slogra semantics, point still stand
The competitive players need a separate queue. Why would I want to play in a queue with casual and competitive players?

52:30 Jesus christ
I like your videos, but please stop hating Yamato.
Never
Would love if Valve re-wroded the "This game is now safe to leave without penalty" literally the most broken thing in the game. People think they wont get MMR and Win/Loss by leaving.
all these updates for an alpha game. thats valve for you
Still no Forfeit button
