James Spader gives the best interviews. I love how he takes his time telling the story. He is an awesome storyteller and person. Wish the interview was much much longer.
Good God, actually Jimmy showed a lot of restraint during the interview imo...they just uploaded the most entertaining/up beat part and it was mostly b/c of Jimmy. After this part he didn't interrupt him at all and it took him another 2+min to say he was a waiter...I watched the show live and tuned out after this part due to boredom.
Voicu Violeta I watched the entire thing too. All talk show hosts interrupt but to me Jimmy does it all the time. Very annoying to me, so much so I often turn the channel.
No wonder he said going to JFK Jr's apartment was an oasis. He went to NYC at 17 with $100 in his pocket and mostly ate fried egg sandwiches for meals (according to an interview many years ago). He didn't come from money, he just happened to be a scholarship student at a very elite school.
maybe I generalize but rich/powerful people/families from Western society e.g. US are somehow relatable and friendly. James was nothing back then, and he hung out with John, and was invited to the Kennedy mansion to have dinner. Jackie even gave him a job. From where I came from, rich people even less than the Kennedy level wouldn't even look at people like James.
James really was close with John K. & The Onassis family, hence his love of all things Greek. So I imagine he must have went to Jackie O's funeral and felt utterly horrible when John John passed away. I know I did, and he was his buddy. He's such an Amazing Man who seems to have no idea how sexy he and that voice of his actually is. And I love his laugh @2:05. Too Adorable!! ❤ *Love You Jamesy!* ❤
SH S OOH, can you just IMAGINE him playing that part in the movie? It would have raked in several hundred million had he played the starring role. Instead, it was deadpanned!
I met James Spader here where he was making the movie, Sex Lies and Video Tape. He is the nicest and most friendly man I think I ever met. Just beautiful in and out.
If James Spader would read me a telephone book I would listen to him for hours. I would listen to him no matter what he would be saying. He is fucking amazing.
Everyone says that his voice gives them chills. I will admit he does have quite a unique way of speaking and delivering lines (I find it kind of sexy actually). However even though I'm a huge #TheBlacklist fan now, I first saw him as Alan Shore on #BostonLegal. He was a funny, yet intelligent ladies man on that show. A true treat! Therefore I don't think James Spader will ever scare me. Not as Raymond "Red" Reddington or even as Ultron!
Just two days ago I watched an episode of the blacklist where red mentioned humphrey bogart. And now james spader does it as well, awesome to see these little inputs james is giving to the show
Poor young James Spader. moved to New York hardly knowing anybody...except John F. Kennedy jun. and Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis. come on, how hard could it be.
In the late 70s or now? Both are tough because you need a place to sleep, a place to clean yourself, a way to get presentable for job interviews, and food to eat. No internet back then either, so you had to carry change for phones and couldn't get texts. The weed probably helped though.
Anner Chisline Spader was trying to make it on his own in NY but he had no worries. He came from money, hence being a classmate of John Kennedy. Unless you assume JK went to a local public school which would make you really out of touch with reality.
+tootz1950 Wrong, Spader did not come from money. He was a scholarship student at Phillips Andover Academy. His parents were private school teachers, and he grew up in faculty housing at Brooks Academy where his father taught. He went to NYC with a hundred bucks in his pocket, and slept on the floor in his older sister's apartment because it was already housing a bunch of other people. He worked many odd jobs while trying to make it as an actor.
not a fan of fallon as a host but for some reason, so far when it comes to Spader's interviews, I've only seen him this candid and laughing with Fallon
James Spader is the Bomb,if u haven't watched "Blacklist" u have no clue what u r missing. This show,to me,tops ALL the other Crime Drama Shows. Check him out in "Tuff Turf". It's a great movie dealing with a Very important topic of being a BULLY.
I am a child of the 80s and JAMES SPADER really was a HAWT STUD back in the day but he has NOT aged well. However, NO MAN was ever better looking than JOHN F. KENNEDY Jr. I cried the entire weekend when he died and made a pilgrimage at New Year's to be in Times Square for the Millenium New Year of 1999 and also to see where he lived downtown on Varick Street. Got my pic taken in front of the bldg. Still miss him.
Ok..... why is it that is the end of the conversation......Are these clips meant to be lousy examples of his segment or what. They are pretty worthless, hardly all of what he has to say.
They actually uploaded the most entertaining/up beat part of the interview & it was a good deal b/c of Jimmy. Spader has this slow, monotone & long way of talking till making a point & 1 story took a very long time in ''talk show time'' - he even noticed himself at some point. YT viewer's attention span is not high, so they upload snips of interviews. They usually discuss ~3 topics in an interview and they cut the interviews by topic...I guess they couldn't cut this interview better... This channel is used as a means of advertising the Tonight Show, a way for ppl to sample the show and it's ultimate goal is to entice young ppl to watch the show on TV. Next 2min of the interview: JKO got him a job as a waiter & he spilled water on a group he was waiting: www.nbc.com/the-tonight-show/segments/113821
Funny how many famous people happened to know other famous people. Babysitters, friends or whatever. Its almost like if you don't have those random connections, you are SOL.
Just seeing this now and the other Spader/Kennedy videos. I had heard he knew John-John but now this confirms to me he is a white hat and the blacklist IS part of the program.
I like James Spader, but I must observe: you can't say you have "no prospects" and then two minutes later talk about your best friend Kennedy Jr and visiting his mom Jackie O. It's not what you know.... you know?
Spader is def one of the most unappreciated underrated actors of his generation.
How about Pretty in Pink ? 😉
look up the word " underrated"
of all generations honestly
Spader is like good wine: he just gets better with age.
yesterday i made the same comment on another video of spader! agree 100%
Definately have to agree with you
Absolutely!
EXACTLY
I know he is now attractive because his character, he was really handsome when he was young tho 🤭
James Spader gives the best interviews. I love how he takes his time telling the story. He is an awesome storyteller and person. Wish the interview was much much longer.
His voice for Ultron was such an amazing choice!!
It's so captivating and hypnotic.
when he says "there are no strings on me" i got chills
AKABoondock19 *There are no strings..
But yeah.
I fixed it....thanks =)
Why do you comment on every video? This is obviously a neckbeard pretending to be little girl. You don't fool me
The Emperor knows all. 😑
I could listen to James Spader talk about literally anything. He tells a great story even with Jimmy constantly interrupting him.
I like hearing James Spader laugh , thank you Jimmy Fallon.
Voicu Violeta I watched the entire thing too. All talk show hosts interrupt but to me Jimmy does it all the time. Very annoying to me, so much so I often turn the channel.
James Spader is awesome. The Blacklist is a great series thanks to him. I truly hate how underrated he is.
He really came to excellence in his older age, he was OK as a younger actor
but he is night and day better now
No wonder he said going to JFK Jr's apartment was an oasis. He went to NYC at 17 with $100 in his pocket and mostly ate fried egg sandwiches for meals (according to an interview many years ago). He didn't come from money, he just happened to be a scholarship student at a very elite school.
Exactly!! How interesting right? What a cool guy he was able to have so many great connections with people.
maybe I generalize but rich/powerful people/families from Western society e.g. US are somehow relatable and friendly. James was nothing back then, and he hung out with John, and was invited to the Kennedy mansion to have dinner. Jackie even gave him a job. It’s 2020 and I’m still in love with The blacklist and James Spader.
He wanted to be a gangster or a private detective, and now...as Raymond Reddington...he's both. :P :P :P
Not to mentioned he'll also be one of the greatest villains of all time :D ("There are... No strings on me")
I love his voice is really sexy and when he tell stories in The Blacklist is the best part. Amazing actor.
Mrs. Onassis experienced a lot of loss in her lifetime. It's nice to imagine her just being a mom and a mentor.
LOVE James Spader!! The Blacklist is my favorite. He rocks!
James Spader is amazing in the Black List 🙌
I would love to meet this guy! He seems like one of the most real/down to earth actors ever. Such a cool guy!
James Spader is the bomb. Class actor. I love you Robert California!
James really was close with John K. & The Onassis family, hence his love of all things Greek. So I imagine he must have went to Jackie O's funeral and felt utterly horrible when John John passed away. I know I did, and he was his buddy. I could listen to him laugh all day. 😍
James Spader is a truly great man!
this is the real Mr. Grey....
SH S OOH, can you just IMAGINE him playing that part in the movie? It would have raked in several hundred million had he played the starring role. Instead, it was deadpanned!
Yeah.. but better.. check him out in The Secretary
Love him in The Office
And blacklist
Rsenla and Boston Legal
the practice?
James Spader is such a great actor!! Love him in 'Sex, Lies and Videotape' and 'The Music of Chance'
I met James Spader here where he was making the movie, Sex Lies and Video Tape.
He is the nicest and most friendly man I think I ever met.
Just beautiful in and out.
James Spader is a legend.
If James Spader would read me a telephone book I would listen to him for hours. I would listen to him no matter what he would be saying. He is fucking amazing.

I find his humor funny... He never scared me in Blacklist, but he does have an intimidating look majority of the times...
Frickin' _loved_ #BostonLegal !!! Alan Shore was the _best_ and most... "creative" lawyer ever!!
Thank you, Mr. Spader. You gifted me with peace. It is more than enough...
Just two days ago I watched an episode of the blacklist where red mentioned humphrey bogart. And now james spader does it as well, awesome to see these little inputs james is giving to the show
so what was the job? This is what bugs me about Jimmy Fallon interrupting his guest. Never found out what the job was.
I got the feeling this is just a clip; would probably find out on some bootleg clip of the whole interview
A waiter. It's in the description right under the "published by" date.
It’s in the description
Son talent dépasse les frontières !
I'm french , and his one of my favorite actors ! Love you Red '
I love youuu, My James Spader. My Jimmy ❤️❤️❤️😍
Poor young James Spader. moved to New York hardly knowing anybody...except John F. Kennedy jun. and Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis. come on, how hard could it be.

tootz1950 Thanks for the argument and letting me know. Sorry to have bothered you.
+tootz1950 Wrong, Spader did not come from money. He was a scholarship student at Phillips Andover Academy. Justbecause84 Okay.
James Spader Rocks
I want to see the rest of this interview!!! Please post!
I know he is going to KILL IT as Ultron. Love him so much
The original Mr. Grey. James Spader is the best!
I loved him in Secretary.
not a fan of fallon as a host but for some reason, so far when it comes to Spader's interviews, I've only seen him this candid and laughing with Fallon
He was the most nonchalant + dopest actor on The Office, to me. Loved his vibe!
Love James and the Kennedys
I love him laughing
Red: I feel confident
Liz: Why is that?
Red: God doesn't want me and the devil isn't finished.
Hey Castiel. Dean does miss you. And so do I. Love Chuck.
If you don't love James Spader there is something seriously wrong with you.
yes.
Boston Legal was awesome
wow, i saw him last in Stargate. 20 years and he's almost unrecognizable but he is a great actor.
James Spader is so handsome, for aging gracefully.
Jimmy actually has a good way of interviewing people I like this one he matched James energy HAH
Love Spader💖💖💖
I love you James !!
I watch Blacklist.James Spader . And the The Avengers: Age of Ultron.
He's a great actor
There are no strings on meeeee!!!!
James Spader is the Bomb,if u haven't watched "Blacklist" u have no clue what u r missing. This show,to me,tops ALL the other Crime Drama Shows. Check him out in "Tuff Turf". It's a great movie dealing with a Very important topic of being a BULLY.
There are no strings on him....ultron!
The voice of Ultron
I dont get it, he was poor....and yet his classmate was frigging JFK jr?!
+Dizzy Blu I think they were experimenting on being poor.
+Dizzy Blu Public high school?
+Dizzy Blu he got a scholarship :) his parents were teachers
His parents were teachers. His dad taught English at a boarding school. They lived on campus.... which included rich acquaintances
James: At that time I either wanted to be like a gangster or like a private detective.
Raymond Reddington: Hold my hat
Denny Crane.
Gotta love Red!!!! Best show on T.V. Deal with it!!!!
Wait. Was there more to that story? Based on the title, methinks yes.
So the part about the actual job is cut. Genius...
When does the part come where she gives him a job, like the title suggests?
Is season two up on Netflix yet? :/
it hasn't finished airing yet.
It won't be on their until closer to summer. We are still in Season 2
damn, 1st season so good. i guess ill be missing out :(
Was Spader finished with the story? is there a part 2 to this vdeo?
Blacklist is awesome
he's still Robert California to me
Ok..... why is it that is the end of the conversation......Are these clips meant to be lousy examples of his segment or what. They are pretty worthless, hardly all of what he has to say.

Well.................. I guess that answers that question.......ha
we both have the same hair line now ....lol
STRINGS!
Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis opened the Stargate. Nice.
Robert California is alluring even away from the office
i want his voice
James Spader the ultimate 80's yuppie.
I still see him as the scary psycho from the movie "The New Kids". He was so good in that movie!
Sounds like a bit of "To kill a Mockingbird"...
Funny how many famous people happened to know other famous people. Babysitters, friends or whatever. Its almost like if you don't have those random connections, you are SOL.
So what's the job Jackie o apparently got him??
In the description bro
MORE JACKIE O stories !
conspiracy!! xD
The almighty Ultron!!!!!!!
They never explain but seems ironic because Jackie didn’t want her son marrying an actress and he broke it off with Darryl Hannah
ULTRON himself! james spader would be most fearful gangster in the city, you are all lucky he didnt go that route
Just seeing this now and the other Spader/Kennedy videos. I had heard he knew John-John but now this confirms to me he is a white hat and the blacklist IS part of the program.
Still don't know how James Spader got his first job.
P.S. Mannequin
The total lack of fear is one indicator he would score high on a psychopath test.
Lol
I miss his hair :(
Me too. He's still a nice looking man, but he was hot in Pretty in Pink.
He is much sexier with less hair!!!!
They never said what kind of a job it was.
Omfg Reddington
Wanted to become a gangster, living the dream as Raymond Reddington
Is that Robert California?
It's funny because on the blacklist he basically is a P.I and a gangster
He didn't even finish his story, for god !
What's the problem with these north american hosts? Why is it so hard for them to let the guest speak?
I like James Spader, but I must observe: you can't say you have "no prospects" and then two minutes later talk about your best friend Kennedy Jr and visiting his mom Jackie O. It's not what you know.... you know?
And now he plays a gangster spy on the Blacklist
Ultron Reddington
What the hell I thought the story was going somewhere
He's wearing the same shirt as he did the last time he was on.
Robert California
is it men or his voice gets deeper then lighter tone? lol
Ever since the age of Ultron trailer appeared, it's hard to listen to his voice and not think Ultron.
