I just got mine today for 89 bucks for Black Friday. It is really a great deal ❤ Now I just started the biological process and can’t wait for it to be fully ready 😊
Nice review covering the advantages and disadvantages of this tank really thoroughly! For me personally, I feel the negatives outweigh the positives especially at this price point, but I know lots of people really love these tanks. Very well done and informative! 🙂👍
That is really cool about the mesh waterline. Thanks for talking about the filter. Cool that it is so quiet .. it would of been tough to film in that flex You were totally honest ... Probably the best review I have seen.
I love being honest when it comes to any review I make! Everyone has a right to know the good and the bad about the product! Now that I think about it, I think it's so quiet due to the pump being completely submerged.
I had this tank with matching stand you can see on my channel. I loved it, but some smaller fish/shrimp/snails can get trapped in the back chamber and they're tough to get out. I quit the hobby recently but I'm about to buy the 32g flex. I like that you don't have to take the entire hood off to clean the sponges and biomedia on the 32g.
Honestly, the pump that comes with the tank itself is fine for what it can do. If you do want more power, then any pump that has more than 132 GPH would suffice.
I actually just used garden soil that I got from the backyard! Check out this playlist I have! It should give you a better understanding of what you need to know for planted tanks! ruclips.net/p/PLMmFl-WMZN3C3tzK3TKjYPux6ZgC01yi1
This aquarium light is confusing me . 15 gallon version has 2450 lumens which is really high .This should grow advanced plants but not really. So is that numbers are correct?
Lumens are not a good metric to go off of. Lumens are used to measure the brightness of light perceived by the human eye, not plants. The better metric is PAR. PAR focuses on light that is used by plants for photosynthesis.
Photosynthetically Active Radiation (PAR for short). Watts or watts per gallon is also not a great measurement to use as it's a very baseline generic measurement and does not take into account lighting needs for plants. Watts is just the power the light needs to run.

I may have given it too high of a score now that I think about it. I need to think of a better grading system! 😂

@@TropiscapeAquatics that is the perfect attitude and approach

Thank you
What pump would you upgrade for this unit 15gallon 🤷✌️🙏🇨🇦

Do you still have new unused tanks?
I have tanks currently not in use at the moment, but they are not brand new.
Where can I buy the arms for the lid? Thanks
Here's a link for them. These aren't mine fyi.

amazon also carries them now
Hmm from my experience the light doesn't remember its settings when paired with a timer...🤔
It's a hit or miss sometimes. I personally would change out the light for a different one that has some sort of timer for better consistency

@@TropiscapeAquatics ty for the info. What is PAR call? I also looking the watt , is PAR simillar watt?

@@TropiscapeAquatics Ty very useful information. I found PAR values for fluval plant 3.0. Do you know PAR values for flex 15 gallons?
Unfortunately, I don't. I don't have a PAR meter, which is the only way to measure PAR. PAR meters are very expensive...
Does it need a bubbler in the back?
Nope! If you're worried about beneficial bacteria and oxygen supply, the intake should bring in plenty of oxygen for them
