    I think you mean the seasoning on the pork chop made your blood pressure go up. Pork is actually a quite lean meat, very little sodium. It's literally called "the other white meat". I can speak on this because I suffer from HBP and never had any issues with pork...just the salty a$$ seasoning that was added to it.

    Louisiana food is Soul Food! Every Southern state has it's own adaptation or riff on Soul Food. Because you can (remix) (added the remix for @dankmemer6576 the a-hole who couldn't stand that autocorrect changed a word to make the sentence seem incomplete) most things across the South, but some things are area based. Where Black people are and all the food we fix, is for the Soul. -- AND yes, 😁 I'm being hella PETTY 🤣 You're welcome 😜

      I'm from Louisiana. I would say we eat a mixture of soul food and Creole cuisine. We can distinguish between the two. Fried chicken, greens, cornbread would be more on the soul food side however gumbo, etouffee, jambalaya we see as Creole cuisine. The flavors between the two cuisines are quite different. Creole cuisine has a lot of sauces and seafood compared to traditional Soul Food.

    That last shot of biscuits and gravy made me immediately hungry, and wanting some now! I grew up in deep south Texas, and one of my favorite meals was Mom's biscuits and gravy! I was stationed in the military at Biloxi, MS, and ate a LOT of this stuff, as well as spending a ton of time in New Orleans! I ate my share of crawfish (crawdad's) and fried shrimp.

    Isn't crawfish soul food? Canadian here so no frame of reference but I always that crawfish was soul food. Also.. what is a crawfish? Does it taste more like prawn, crab, lobster or fish? What makes this video funny is Britain, at one point, controlled the spice trade.... I guess they just never asked how to use them.

    • @amorky8391
      @amorky8391 8 месяцев назад +1

      Crawfish tastes like mud lol. It's a milder prawn but since it's often freshwater and not salt water it's not as strong of a flavor.

    I don't trust nobody who don't eat no pork.. 🤷 first of all, 'Soul Food' cannot be categorised by any region or any stereotypical dish.. it IS in fact food for the soul, that heals and nourishes the mind, body and soul and the experience is tremendously unique to each individual person because what connects too and feeds one person may not do the same to another.. ❤

    I don't really consider new Orleans a soul food place it's more French/creole inspired and the only seafood I would consider soul food would probably be catfish

    When they are in America, they both act as if they are discovernig flavor for the first time. No wonder they are both so thin. My favorite videos of theirs are the ones where they have authentic BBQ for the first time, and the Waffle House video.

    • @bookclub5021
      @bookclub5021 8 месяцев назад

      I think they both massively overstate the lack of flavour in the UK. There's so many different cuisines here, Indian food is like the most popular cuisine. There's a hundred different Indian restaurants in every city and all the little towns. Caribbean food is everywhere here too. Both of those cuisines are spicy as fuck lol. Yeah traditionally English food can be a bit bland sometimes but not always but the influx of immigrants here over the last 50-60 years has made it a great place to eat out.
