It definitely grows on you. On the first listen I didn’t know how to feel about it either, the outro saved the song for me, but eventually I started jamming to it. I’m more of a fan of their older albums as well, but I don’t think the genre was the problem here. I know they can do better, musically speaking, I guess that’s why I got somewhat disappointed. Maybe a guitar riff would have given the song more personality, as well as drum beat variation. The bass was great imo though.

@@CherryEmikoHime107 I don't know it's supposed to be a sequel to Hurts like Heaven this album follows the story of Mylo and xyloto in a different solar system after they escaped major minus. This song is supposed to represent people who are always unloved or cut off because they are different when in reality people like us who are cut off I have autism it's refreshing to hear my favourite band to make me feel better by saying that I have higher power. I definitely prefer it over the shit a head full of dreams and ghost stories. My favourite era of Coldplay is from A Rush of blood till the end of the Mylo tour.

This song is one of the best produced Coldplay songs to date. The tone, build up, chorus, guitar, drums and bass all play a factor. Of their singles, it’s my favorite since Every Tear Drop Is A Waterfall and it has an Mylo Xyloto vibe which isn’t a bad thing.
Coldplay is one of those bands that don’t sound like anything on the radio, and it is refreshing to hear a new song from them.
Overall it’s a great song that might be an underrated hit after its all said and done
I'd say it's their best since Mylo era but that's because this album is a sequel to Mylo with a X and Y twist
This is their worst song in quite a while imo. I’ve seen a lot of die hard fans agree with me. Terrible lyrics and a very cheesy, easy single. Hopefully they can turn things around with the new album.

COLDPLAY is such a heavenly band. I can't express how much I love them. This new song is a banger. Just because it's pop doesn't mean it's bad
The best thing about Coldplay is how they keep changing with time and don't just stick to a same sound, you should acknowledge that.

This means that you're judging this song subjectively because it is made by Coldplay. If the exact same song was made by a band you don't recognize, I'd doubt you'll say that this is a banger.

Love the song so much! Just a feel good song to get lost in.
It grows , and honestly if you really think about it those lyrics are so Coldplay imo . They always come back with something a bit new . Plus nothing is ever by chance with them so I expect that as more comes out about an album things will click . We don’t need to replace the scientist !! if anything it left me walking away feeling good with this one!

I loved the song from the first time I heard it. Yeah, it’s a little pop for them, and they’re capable of more musically. But it’s catchy as hell and such a feel-good song I can’t help but love it.
It's not that poppy when you bring A Head Full of Dreams into the equation
Max Martin produced this he also produced Taylor Swift's 1989 album and Blinding Lights by The Weeknd and Britney Spears oops I did it again and almost nearly every pop hit in the last 25 years
This is a era of music they have been planning since X and Y when they started working with Brian Eno they wrote a lot of stuff like this that they were holding back for a while when they had the budget to create a solar system for the tour listen to Moving to Mars it's a song that's been trademarked for release and it was a b side from the Mylo era. The band wanted to release the poppiest song on the album first to give it that extra attention so people where hungry for a tour again.
I have loved this song right from the very start! It reminded me how much I have liked them since Viva la Vida and now I am a bigger fan than ever :)

Agree. Everyday Life is like the-take-a-breath-album for Coldplay after hyped Mylo Xyloto & AHFoD. Anw, for me personally I like everything that Coldplay have tried to present to their listeners.

I just feel bad for the band because they released Everyday Life in the style of their older stuff but it didn't sell and people slagged it off and now they release something more commercial and people are slagging it off it's like they are at a point where they are damned if they do or damned if they don't

They try to sound 80s/synthwave/funk like The Weeknd, BUT sound like Imagine Dragons. Also they ripped-off Imagine Dragons with the shitty CGI music videos that will look dated in 8 years. Terrible
