  • "Ev'ryone Says 'I Love You' " (1932), from the Marx Brothers movie "Horse Feathers". In the movie, each of the 4 brothers do their own separate verse-chorus renditions. I'm just doing the one from the sheet music, which is Zeppo's part.
I did an instrumental version of this song years ago as background music for a video, but recently I stumbled across a copy of the sheet music in a store. Some friends requested a rendition from me, so here it is.
The transition after the first verse, which I also use in the intro, didn't sound right to me as it was written by its chord names (Am C+7 F7). I saw in the sheet music though there are little "D" notes thrown into this bar, so I did my best to play something that works: 200x xxx5 100x xxx5 2313. Also, at the end of the second verse, the sheet music has the transition as Eb7 A7, but I think Emin7b5 A7 (or Edim7 A7) flows better.
Here are the chord changes. For beginning players looking to "dumb it down", you can probably skip the transition chords in the parentheses.
    Bb (Dm7b5) G7 | Cm (Ebm) F7 |
    Bb D7 | Eb Edim7
    Bb Gm | Cm7 F7 |
    Bb (Eb Bb) | (Am C+7) F7
    Bb (Dm7b5) G7 | Cm (Ebm) F7 |
    Bb D7 | Eb Edim7
    Bb Gm | Cm7 F7 |
    Bb (Eb Bb) | Edim7 A7
    Dm | Emin7b5 A7 | Dm | G9
    F F#dim7 | C7 Ebmin | F7 | Eb F7
    Bb (Dm7b5) G7 | Cm (Ebm) F7 |
    Bb D7 | Eb Edim7
    Bb Gm | Cm7 F7 |
Bb (Eb Bb) | end: Bb
(Sheet music though has ending bar as Cm F7 Bb)
