as cool as hannibal is as a character, i'm not sure why he'd ever really be added considering he's very methodical about how he kills which wouldnt really fit the game, and he'd have no real power unless he maybe eats people which would be way too odd lmao

My thoughts exactly, I love Hannibal; he stands out as one of my favorite horror icons… up there with Jack Torrance for me… but I don’t think he belongs in DBD. I don’t think they could craft Hannibal in a way that does him justice. He would probably feel like just a dude who looks like Hannibal rather than actually feeling like we’re playing as the Dr himself. Also with the direction Behavior has been going I genuinely believe Hannibal wouldn’t fit the atmosphere, he’s too grounded in psychological horror while DBD is more of a party game with horror IPs now a days.
I think if Hannibal ever got a video game adaptation he deserves to be the antagonist of a RPG. I’m imagining a gritty, dark game like Heavy Rain where you are the detective either tracking Hannibal down or getting his help to locate a different killer… I highly doubt Behavior could portray him the way he deserves to be. But maybe I’m just overly cynical and will eat my words next year when they release the greatest interpretation of Hannibal since the first movie…. Doubted
I have researched Lecter for alot papers in college. I would say the book version would be the way to go if they did. He is completely distinct from the video adaptations. It would allow for a more methodical game play with a power that revolves around stalking with his gaze which is said to be captivating in the books. It's a copy paste power of Myers. That would be the best way if they were to go that route.
This is all speculation so maybe it’s Hannibal survivors not necessarily Hannibal himself… it’s just odd to add someone who is older, has no signature weapon, and no powers I feel legion kinda fills the average human trope

The Walking Dead in October makes more sense since Gumpy said it's on ice and as someone said in a comment that will be TWD 15 year anniversary also another call of duty twd collab is happening so the license is still being used to promote the spin offs

@AlienFan25 Gumpy said it's the show. Telltale won't be happening and even if behaviour wanted to skybound doesn't give that ip out to anyone (only exception was 7 days to die back when Telltale published console version)

hannibal despite being horror legend just wouldn’t fit into the fog. he doesn’t really have any special abilities that could give him a power, i imagine if he were ever to come into dbd he’d either a, have to be a survivor, which could be cool but wouldn’t really fit, or b, a skin for a already existing killer, and that also wouldn’t really fit seeing as every killer just doesn’t fit

Norman Bates on the other hand feels much more feeding, simply on the account of the big trans community dbd has, he feels more appealing and also, everybody knows the famous shower scene so his weapon of choice would have to be th knife.

Hannibal lecter will likely be part of a movie skin pack. They will pick a few classic movie villains and several killers will get skins of different killers.

the TV show version feels the most likely. It was very well regarded, almost like Ledger's Joker in the way that people had a classic actor as the gold standard and a younger actor reinvented the iconic character. It is kinda recent and I would imagine the target demographics overlap a good bit. And lastly Mads seems open to doing game stuff, he was in Death Stranding too.

My main issue is that while yes Hannibal is a horrifying character and very iconic he doesn't really have a solid "power" and isn't much of a slasher.

I don't foresee Hannibal being a killer in DBD. He as a character doesn't mesh well with the gameplay.
I do however, see Jack Nicholson's depiction of Jack Torrance from The Shining as a killer possibility.
He's an insane axe murderer, and it doesn't need to be much more than that.
Concept for his kit and perks.
The Madman (Jack Torrance, The Shining Chapter)
Map: Overlook Hotel.
A map variant to the Mount Ormon Resort, this map has a very large main building with two floors that includes the hotel lobby, and the second story with a couple rooms that can be entered. The main building would be placed at one edge of the map, and the rest of the map would be a a mix of open space and the hedge maze acting as several variable tiles linked together.
Weapon: Fire Ax.
Special Ability: Torment.
The Madman suffers from horrible visions and is haunted by specters only he can see, brought on by his own tormented mind.
The longer The Madman goes without injuring Survivors, the worse his Torment gets. He must constantly quench his bloodthirst to stay calm and be capable of differentiating what is real and what isn't.
Torment explained:
Torment builds up over time when Jack is not chasing Survivors, pauses when he is chasing Survivors, and decreases whenever he injures Survivors. When at maximum Torment, the next time he would begin chase with a Survivor he will have increased vault speed, destroy doors and generators faster, and he begins the chase with a stack of Bloodlust that cannot be removed until the chase ends one way or another (including stuns). When injuring a Survivor while at maximum Torment, his Torment will be resolved and reset to 0.
As his Torment increases, The Madman will begin to hear and see things that aren't actually there, and it only gets worse the closer he is to maximum Torment.
(Note that the "permanent stack of bloodlust" supersedes Rapid Brutality's bloodlust limiter, and the stack will automatically activate Beast of Prey to hide his red stain.)
Examples of illusions brought on by Torment:
An illusion of a Survivor will jump into a nearby empty locker.
Ghostly apparitions will appear to haunt him. (Not in the form of Survivors)
Illusory dropped pallets where destroyed pallets actually are.
Dull totems may appear to have been blessed by a Boon.
The sound of a Survivor falling from a high place.
Sporadic whispers he cannot comprehend.
Momentary visions of blood. Blood everywhere.
It's not all bad though. After Jack quells his Torment, his mind becomes calm and collected allowing him to focus on the task at hand. For the next 20 seconds after completely resetting his Torment to 0, his attacks will inflict deep wound to Survivors. During that time he will not gain any further Torment, and scratch marks become much clearer as well as appearing closer together for him (old Predator effect).
Perks:
*Here's Johnny!*
Destroy breakable walls and dropped pallets 25% slower.
After destroying a breakable wall or dropped pallet, Survivors within 32 meters will scream, revealing their location to the killer _and_ be hindered by 10% for the next 6 seconds.
Once activated, this perk will go on a 25 second cooldown.
*Writer's Block*
There's too many distractions. _You can't even think straight anymore!_
If the same Survivor makes two loud noise notifications within 10 seconds of one another, they will be exposed for 45 seconds and their aura will be revealed to you for 6 seconds.
This perk can only apply to the same Survivor once every 60 seconds, but does not have a direct cooldown and can occur to multiple different Survivors simultaneously.
_A loud noise notification is only counted for the perk if the Killer is far away enough to receive a visual indicator_
*Binding Contract*
_"...I have signed a letter of agreement-- a contract!"_
You are bound by the Entity to fulfil your duties to it as per your contract.
At the start of the trial, one Survivor will become your Obsession.
When you kill your Obsession by any means, another living Survivor will become your Obsession and you will gain 1 stack of Contract Fulfilment.
For every stack of Contract Fulfilment, permanently gain 15% missed attack recovery time, open lockers 15% faster, and pick survivors up 15% faster.
_You cannot switch Obsessions by other means while using Binding Contract. This may limit the usage of other perks._

I can't see this happening.. Hannibal kills in a very specific manner and he wouldn't just run around stabbing at people.. ever. He also would not work as a survivor at all. I don't think this is possible.

There’s so much more they can do in terms of gameplay and power if they go with the tv show version. That incorporates a lot of metaphorical imagery that almost seem supernatural and it would be cool if the entity made it literal. While the original silence of the lambs is the much more popular of the two versions I honestly don’t think Anthony Hopkins Hannibal would work in the game with the tv show stuff as a skin if they go with the Mads Mikkelsen version, and if they don’t do the tv show I feel like original Hannibal by himself is not going to be compelling gameplay wise. Idk maybe his power would be like a smell trail? but of course all is possible.
Oh man, Hannibal's W**digo form would be boss as hell. And a scent trail would make sense, given how a keen sense of smell is one of Lecter's defining character traits.
Now I'm wondering what kind of perks Hannibal (and Will, because his empathy and deductive leaps) would have.
It would be a wonderful idea, but it's BHVR, they'll never put in the effort to do something that complicated.
I hope it's not true I don't wanna see Hannibal Lecter in DBD, but I did like the tv series and I hope Art The Clown gets added

Anthony Hopkins was not the only person to play Hannibal in movies, Brian Cox played him first in Man Hunter.
Also Bryan Fuller is mostly a tv writer, not a movie producer. He created and show ran the Hannibal TV show, which aired on NBC, which is owned by Universal.
Also just because Universal was involved in that video game/movie release, and produced the show, that doesn’t necessarily mean they have any ownership over the character. Rights stuff is really complicated, Universal might have had the rights to make a game based off of their movie adaptation, not necessarily the entirety of the video game rights.
Fuller was specifically talking about continuing the story of his tv show, which was an adaptation of Red Dragon and elements of the book Hannibal.

I think it’s odd that Jason Voorhees is not part of it, especially with Jason’s inclusion in multiversus. Hannibal would be an odd choice, especially when killers nowadays are more… interesting, to say the least.

I would love for Hannibal to come in but I'm also not sure how it would work. Like someone else here said, he's very methodical in the books and movies, but I do know that at points he can be brutal, like in the escape in Silence of the Lambs. I would love to see where this would go though either way.

I don't see how he would fit in as a killer in this game. Chasing and stabbing isn't really something he does. Funnily enough, I think it'd be better if he was a survivor. Seeing his smile and downturned brow as he looks at the other survivors would be both creepy and fun, making it look like he has plans for his fellow survivors once this is over. He gets unhooked and goes "Perhaps I misjudged you." or "I'll be sure to repay the favor." And you know exactly how he'd say it.
I think the original chapter is definitely Frank Stone. The game basically sets it up.

Hannibal is one of my favorite horror characters, I’ve never thought it capable that they add him into Dbd- I still don’t think it’s likely that they can add him in a way that truly encapsulates him. Personally I think if they were to have any video game adaptation of the Dr would be for them to take a page out of “Heavy Rain’s” book and make it a gritty, horror game following a detective… I don’t see him fitting in DBD and it doing him in a way that makes it actually feel as tho he’s in the game rather than playing as a guy who looks like him… then again Behavior did a decent job with Sadako… idk, I don’t think it’s going to happen and I’m not sure I even want it to; even with Hannibal being one of my favorite horror characters…

I don't believe Dr. Lecter will be appearing in DBD. Lore wise and gameplay wise, it would be very difficult to implement if they want to do the character justice like they have done with all their previous licenses. Nothing is impossible (Look at Chucky and how everyone thought it would never happen) but Hannibal Lecter would not just go around slashing survivors and putting them on hooks like the rest of the killer roster.
Anthony Hopkins did not play Hannibal in Manhunter. That was Brian Cox.
