World of Warcraft Ambience Music [for relaxing evenings] (mixed by Douglas Howarth)

- So, this is something I wanted to do in a while.
Inspired by Skyrim: Atmospheres (which I highly recommend even if you haven't played the game), I decided to make something similar from my much beloved WoW music. All of my favourite pieces from the game have been mixed together along with background ambiences from different places from the Azeroth to create a 45 minute soothing journey throughout the world of Warcraft.
Everything was stiched together in Ableton Live. Here's the tracklist:

2. 7:27 - Borean Tundra and the Kalu'ak
3. 12:00 - Wintergrasp
4. 14:33 - Violets of Crystalsong
5. 20:33 - The Grizzly and the Hills
6. 28:20 - Howling Fjord
7. 32:45 - Terrokar Forest
8. 36:30 - Flux in Netherstorm
9. 41:30 - Shattrath
Each of the 'segments' has been compiled from thematic collection of songs written by Blizzard for the specific area. I really hope this will help you relax after a long day just as it helps me, and will make a solid summary of all this music that wasn't released on the OSTs and sits within in-game files separately.

This is one of the most somber and bittersweet selections of music I've ever come across. I've been playing it a lot recently, it has helped me relax. It's sad and moving, beautiful, warm, and yet cold and isolated. So many memories... hours lost, days, weeks, months, years... friends made, friends lost... another home on the ether digital world...
Yeah World of Warcraft composers do an amazing job telling you the story of that part of the world you're in without words. To me, that's what creates an amazing soundtrack.

the nostalgia of WoW is unmatched by any game. 6 years of my life lost to progressing through this massive mythos. I picked it up again and all I do is listen to the music and collect gear sets from all my favorite old raids.

I remember playing the game when it was new, and people were still discovering it, a slower pace game (than today) that forged many friendships and led to many hours of joy... All those moments were lost in time, like tears in rain.

I just had one of the worst evenings in months...maybe in a year or two. I came home sad and distressed. I needed something to try and bring me some calm. I clicked on youtube and typed in relaxing world of warcraft music and chose this. It helped me get grounded again. Thank You So Much! It made a big difference for me tonight.

love how it starts w/ that draenic music. you can imagine the exodar coming into view from deep space, plummeting to azeroth, a new beginning for a timeless and broken people. Blizz has touched my soul with the emotion in their music

The wintergrasp tracks without the drums of war... The strings and horns and the solo trumpet (and that incredible vibraphone) in those tracks just give me chills to this day, and just puts me at absolute peace. They have also helped me shed tears when I've needed to, just as the grizzly hills music has, and the song invincible.
The WoW sound team is just something else. They've created absolute masterpieces. Masterpieces with value that is extended far beyond how just plain amazing they are to listen to... Connected with the memories and nostalgia associated with this legendary MMO, they're so much more than just pieces of music. It's such a unique thing to experience and is so hard to explain to people who don't know and have experienced the game first hand. I love and will forever love WoW and what it's given me throughout life. Thanks for creating and uploading this video.
Very nice! I often find the music & background sounds of WoW to be relaxing as well. The other day I had a nice chill time playing rain sounds on iTunes along with the nature sounds from the Western Plaguelands. It was lovely
This is much more than relax..a spiritual journey to places that were never existed..yet they are very real to us wow players.

Hey man glad you're back on RUclips making these mixes. I absolutely loved the Mass Effect mix and that was my cure to many sleepless nights. It got me through some really rough nights where I felt overwhelmed with many personal issues and also has just made good nights even better. So far I'm about 10 minutes into this one and having mostly grown up with WoW, I'm really like it. I hope you make more, especially more similar to your Mass Effect Ambient Mix. I really hope you get more credit for these too, these are really well done (:

Thank you for this. I was getting a very bad anxiety attack, this was recommended and 10 minutes in, much calmer. The anxiety is still there, but not as overwhelming as it was.

this is great! congratulations.
This is one of the most relaxing, enjoyable and awesome playlist I've found online. For me, listening to WoW music whilst stuyding is nice, but I just can't listen to songs which I've heard so many times before; some songs are good but very tiresome e.g. Elwynn forest/goldshire.

It's a bit sad that soothing Wow music are more rare now. The stakes are more important though (Legion) but still. We'll see what Legion will offer.
