Thanks for the great demonstration with commentary on the run. I was thinking in my mind about how the return row is executed to prevent going back to the starting point each time after a row, and I saw that in action with you raising your oars, made perfect sense.
I have been thinking about a row boat for about a year now. I think rowing across a quiet lake would be good exercise and very relaxing solitude. Yesterday I took some scrap aluminum to the recycler and there sat a nice aluminum boat! No motor, just the boat. It's about a 12 footer and has places for oars. In my state, no title or registration is needed for a rowboat. It's marked $60.00, I have been thinking about it. I'd need to get or make a trailer, fortunately I can weld a bit and have access to a welding shop. I could make my own trailer if need be. I haven't decided yet, but I think I am going to buy that boat.
brother, when you said "paddles", I felt like I needed a drink. When you corrected yourself, I was very happy again. Great video, great presentation. Thank you for your time!
I truly enjoy rowing. It's definitely work when the wind picks up but it is easy to figure it out with practice. I have a Mercury 2.5 two stroke and a Yamaha 9.9 four stroke I will probably sell. I will keep my MinnL Kota trolling though as a backup.
Thanks for this! :) used this video to explain the concept of boat paddles to my 3 year old. They're in a cardboard box row boat with a toy shovel as a paddle lol.
Rushing Tide. . A boat I row But get nowhere Against the tide I'll never get there Suddenly the tide Doth change On past the dock I'm out of range How to get This rented boat Back to shop Before I'm broke .
Watch another video. Feathering/ sculling backward, digging the oars to deep. No look over your shoulder to navigate instruction. And your legs and back do the work. Not your arms. He hasn’t rowed in years??? He never learned then either. Any questions? Message-reply I’ll be happy to help. Been rowing year round for over 30 years. I appreciate him trying to help. But bad instruction is worse the no instruction.

Hey! I just started rowing on my Seahawk 2 I ordered online. It was quite the learning experience when i got in the water, But getting out was hard. the boat was rocking back and forth and i inevitably fell in the water. Any tips getting out?
Arwah Gedi The rubber boats are a little tougher. You can’t bring them to shallow. You might puncture them. A sandy beach is best. Get close to shore maybe 2 feet of water stow your oars. Then raise your legs. Pivot, so your legs are over the side and just stand up. The boat will squeeze out from underneath you. Just make sure you hold on to the boat so the wind won’t blow it away if it’s breezy. Enjoy. B.
I looked up this video because I got so pissed off by that one scene in the muppet movie where the Hollywood agent rows the boat in the swamp INCORRECTLY
John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
JPierquet9, thanks for pointing that out. It's always important to have a life jacket on board. In this video, Lenny stayed close to the dock where the film crew was close by to lend a hand.
Oh, my God you did seven things wrong.1. You never stand in a boat that small. You get in and sit down.2. You got in backwards and had to turn around in the boat. 3. You place your oars so that the handle is in front of you. You placed both oars with the handles behind you so that you had to move your body to get them in front of you.4. You never bent your knees or used your legs.5. You feathered the oars reversed. 6. You dipped the oars too deep7. Your hands are too far apart. There should be about two inches between the grips.
I didn't know it was easier to row a boat with your back towards the bow. Basic, yet very informative! Thanks!
ikr who'da thunk it
You thought it was easier to row with the flat part of the boat going forward instead of the pointy part?
@@patricke170no he means paddling while facing backwards as opposed to facing forward😂
Thank You! I helped my friend to learn how to row a boat! He didn’t return tho
Hmmm...... Dark.
Did he have one oar?
Oh hell naw💀🦶🦶
LOL 😂
Hahaa 😂
I always enjoy a bit of boat rowing when I get the chance, and despite having a bad back the exercise does it good, love it.

What, if there is no one to assist you getting in the boat and setting everything up?

Thanks Sir!
What size oars do i need for a 14 foot row boat?
Thank you. This is exactly the way my P T told me to row, without putting your whole back into it.

Why do you row backwards cant see where you're going
I learned to row in a inflated boat :)
Your feathering your blades the wrong way the concave part should face up
Nicks Kitchen YOU'RE speaking English the wrong way.
@gabe4287 I love you for posting this
And about life jackets?
Oars too deep. Can also turn by braking with 1 oar and towing with the other....
And thank you
Here after noticing there's something strange with the Red Dead Redemption 2 rowing physics. Had to confirm. Over 5yrs later😅
What kind of boat is that, as in brand? I would love one similar for my family
Hey ew, it's a custom-made boat, so it's one of a kind. You can search for a similar boat under the "unpowered" category on boats.com: ow.ly/Pfu8I

Michael Monaldi he also needs to keep his thumbs on the end of the oars
This is the problem with U Tube.
Even if you don’t know what your doing. You can still make an instructional video.
@mr.h.7586 This is the problem with RUclips. Anyone can comment even when they don’t know what they’re talking about.
