That is overly cynical. There are many Kenyans benefitting from the improvements in infrastructure brought about by the joint efforts of the Kenyans and China. Of course, China also wants to benefit in terms of better relationship and more trade. But so do the Kenyans. Trade helps both sides when there is a 2-way flow. But until the African countries can improve the infrastructure and skills, the trade flow from China will naturally be the greater. African nations have to start somewhere, and this is what China is trying to help them get up to the level when they can sell to China and other countries in return.
