But for some unknown reason - he didn't talk about - he eighter fully lives in Russia, or in a Russian occupied part of Kazakhstan and served in the Russian military there, or he went to Russia before the war as immigrant worker and as such was conscripted into basic Russian military training in 2021.

War is a terrible tragedy if Putin cared about his own people he wouldn't have started this sad conflict. I am so sorry Ukraine has been so damaged and lost so many people and historical things but also feel the Russian soldiers should never have been sent to die and be lied to by Putin. Such a sad waste that will take a long time to heal and repair.

    • @HighHrothgar0

Yeah they set it up like that so the less important people like prisoners and draftees get taken out first it’s pretty simple most of them probably don’t have very much intel and are new to the military. It’s probably difficult to capture people that have important information even more difficult to get them to talk.

@lucabaki The Russian people need to refuse to fight. Ukraine will be victorious I think they are treating them too well. They only have to give them a little bit of food and can give water with alcohol in it and it would still count as them giving water I think piss is also mostly water. Idk if someone tried to invade my home I would be ruthless and not feel bad about anything. They need to exchange prisoners though and want to keep their people safe so I understand why they do it this way.

They don’t care if it’s Russian or Ukrainian it’s just cool. I am glad he was captured and I hope he can go home and stay home. I expect if Putin believes he must send more children to die for him Samrat can expect to be shoved into the line of fire again. Much better if he fights for himself.

I'm horrified those young guys all want to get exchanged asap, he should only return AFTER the war!
Logically Putin will send him to one of the worst places of the frontline immediately upon return where he'll die asap - as you likely can imagine, the Russian military isn't interested that he comes home and tells everybody that he got treated well as a POW - the Russians are telling their soldiers they'll be tortured if they surrender or get caught, which is the complete opposite of his version that destroys their entire propaganda narrative built on fear..

It blows me away the number of people who smoke (most of you guys). The research in the 1950’s said smoking was giving us lung cancer and other serious lung conditions. It’s a shame these countries don’t have strong legislation plus taxing on cigarettes to cover the future strain on the health system. And don’t get any ideas about vaping. Same thing although the inhaled particles are larger and do even more harm.

It's clear to me and very clear to the Ukrainians that many Russians were tricked into being put into a position to where they could easily be ordered, under threat to invade, occupy Ukraine and ultimately kill Ukrainians. I wonder how much sympathy this fact affords the Russian soldiers. I wish that instead of War, that the world embraced love and unity. The sharing and exchange of cultures, that instead of hate, there was friendship between us all. These young men, 20 - 21 - 22 are ill prepared for who they are facing. There is no clear reason why they are there other than the lies that are fed to them. War is very serious business and you need to have purpose and conviction in your heart to give you the mental fortitude to fight. The Ukrainians are fighting for not only their lives, but the homes, land and lives of their countrymen. More importantly, their future. I also think ( I'm not sure ) the age of these Ukrainian soldiers might be a bit older and with age, comes greater experience. the certainly have the passion and drive that a solider should have. I hope this engagement ends soon and that we can have many many years with peace.

It's not like they are being starved , tortured and mutilated like the Ukrainians that have been in Russian captivity
Ukraine treats the prisoners very well, they get the choice to do these interviews, they work to earn a bit of money to buy chocolate etc, they get treated like human beings, probably for the first time since joining the military and attacking Ukraine.
