Please keep videos like this coming! They really help us demystify tinnitus. I have found that 90% of the tinnitus is caused by fear and not coping with the unknown.

Georges you’re situation is so familiar. The fluctuations are a real strain on habituation and so easily bring us down. I keep a daily diary of my T and it’s levels and effects. I really appreciate my quiet brain times which seem to becoming more frequent but am often discouraged how quickly it can ramp up and like you I think my T is mostly Somatic so constantly try massage, Tens machine and pressure points. I gave up on the night mouth guard as I just couldn’t see it making any consistent difference (diaries are useful). Instead of 24/7 Sound Therapy for months on end I’m now reasonably often able to do without it and just accept or ignore the T 😊 for hours in the day and sometimes all day. I now know the quiet is temporarily a gift and the volume will ramp anytime but that is temporary too so that helps the anxiety. I really find these videos are helpful in giving knowledge and hope and wish only the best for my fellow sufferers.

Nice interview. Please could you tell us how you treated your Hyperacusis? The kitchen plates, cutlery, etc kills my ears. Very painful. If I press on the right side of my head it also creates an additional static sound on top of my T wtf

@@Hew.Jarsol Hey, I still dont like those noises but just followed the advice of don't over protect and also to gradually expose yourself to these noises. It gets better, honest. My hyperacusis was anxiety caused though, i believe.

@@reholla8859 Oh yeah, all the time, that's just your eustachian tubes opening and closing, not even Tinnitus related. I think my tight neck and jaw makes it more pronounced and it was something I probs only paid attention to recently

The more I hear stories like Georges, the more I'm convinced it's a result of a hyper-vigilant limbic system (a brain stuck in flight or fight mode). I have all these issues and it started with anxiety, then IBS, now fibromyalgia and somatic tinnitus. Doctors and audiologists can't find anything physically wrong with me. It's obvious to me that my symptoms are worse when my stress is worse. After years of not getting anywhere with mainstream medical help I'm looking into Neuroplastic Reprocessing therapy & Brain Retraining. My regular doctor hasn't even heard of somatic tinnitus! He glazed over when I asked him about it, as though it was some whacky pseudo symptom.

My IBS and Tinnitus take turns to flare up. I don't think it is a coincidence. Mine is somatic moving my jaw changes the sound. I've never heard about getting teeth removed. I always wondered whether mine started after a root canal.

💯 As a senior citizen, i realize that I’ve had it since childhood but I didn’t realize it.
Somatic experiencing has changed my life, just last week! Please try it. Peter Levine.

Hi Ben - another great video! I have a 'morse code' type tinnitus in my left ear. After research I've seen that it might be 'typewriter tinnitus'. Is this type of tinnitus covered in any of your videos? If not it'd be great if you'd consider a video on this specific type of tinnitus!

I have had two sessions with Treble Health and did not receive the kind of support many of your guest speak of. I already have hearing aids so it seemed there was nothing the audiologist could do for me.

Don't be hopeless, I suffered a severe concussion after being assaulted at my job. This last me with severe tinnitus in my left ear, the first two months where hell and I sincerely thought about ending it. Then, I SLOWEY began to accept that this would be my new normal. Stop wishing for a cure, and when they say you have to accept the condition, that your brain will over time and with the correct mindset and coping skills begin to adjust, they're not lying. You have to take control, you will have to accept the condition to begin the process of habituation..
