    Thanks for an excellent look-see of this smock mate. I really like Varusteleka's home brand products and I think you sold me on this smock...think, I know you did. Have a good one and thanks again.

    With my my current smock I can carry about 20 half liter beer cans. plus gear for an overnighter. or 34 cans and nothing more. there's nothing comparable on the market anymore :-D (example: my British pattern 95 can take 10 cans and nothing else) unable to survive with, if you ask me. But I am German and have no idea what's important for you Brits. 100 packs of tea and a pound of hexamine? ;-)
    Nice review Mack! The Särmä stuff is pretty awesome, not just this smock. It's made iin Europe by companies who know what they are doing. Military contractors.
    I would like to have a dark brown smock without having to use spray paint lol but the only option there ever was came from a small Italian company and isn't made anymore. I did not get it, because they were asking almost 300 quids for it. (and it couldn't carry enough beer for survival hahahaha)

      Supplies of Bacon and Beer is a important survival consideration mate.. I would like to see more Brown in outdoors clothing..

    One of the best parts about these is they are compatible with the Sarma Liner - makes it a great option for late fall/ winter wear too. I Own the windproof fishtail parka and stronly think about getting one of them smoks too as the liner will fit. (some older editions of the smock might require a bit of DIY , bu the new ones are apparently good to go)

      I have had no issues with my smock mate as i said it's become my go to field jacket

    • @TheIdiotPlays

      Yeah the old one doesn't support the liner but the one's they sell now all have the buttons etc already. My jacket lasted about 4 years and then I went with the german ab bw "parka" jacket.
      The pockets failed on my windproof smock and after 4 years of use it looks a bit too much used. I recommend the ab bw parka, it is nice. It comes with a liner, although it is polyester.
      I've never used the liner though, its been max -13C(8.6F) this winter and I thought only once that maybe I need to take the liner from storage :D

    Great review mate. Thanks a lot. I will be getting one of these. Cheers.
    As for the French, be fair, they are (saving submarines) brilliant arms distributors. Have you not seen the big advert in Le Figaro?: 'Rifles going cheap, never fired. Only dropped once.'

    • @therumpokid4217
      @therumpokid4217 2 года назад

      @@macktightwad606 No problem. Yeah, definitely one of the best bits of kit that I have got.
      I did worry about the sizing. Have you noticed that European medium is American small etc? I am saying nothing!
      Anyway, I went for a large. At first I thought that this might have been a mistake. Would people have to knock on it to see if I was in? But actually it was the right move. You sort of grow into it. Added to which it is better to have it bigger so that you can put more layers underneath if needed.
      The pit zips are just great.
      Thanks for the ace review mate.
