  • In this video, I will setup and solve the Load Frame example in Pavel Goncharovs book «Engineering Analysis with NX Advanced Simulation». This model was meshed in my "Load Frame Meshing" video. In this video you will learn how use "simulation objects" in the NX .sim file to glue and define contacts between surfaces and edges. NX uses an Augmented Lagrange Multiplier technique that efficiently connects FEMs with various element types. This technique introduces nonlinear contact effects which are included in the "linear" SOL101"solver.
to demonstrate mapped (3D), free (3D) and shell meshing of midsurfaces (2D). I will also show how to model concentrated masses (CONM2), rigid elements (RBE2s), mesh mating conditions to connect FEMs and how to inherit shell element thickness on midsurfaces from the solid geometry.
