no one is there to see them play pretend while an ipod is pumping through the speakers. they came to see a performance you can't get anywhere else. if that means it sound sloppy or fucked or a general disregard for technical ability in a catharsis of self destructive behavior, then it means you don't get what's really going on if you have to question it.
