Regarding bending the frame, what’s the alternate object hitting something with enough force to bend a frame if you do not have bars? Likely your legs. I’ll take a bent frame over a severed or demolished leg any day. Regarding the rubbing bolt on your calf, can you wrap it in some thin padding and or cloth like denim or perhaps leather? What do you think of the bars now that you’ve had them a while? Thanks for the review.
I just got them and They have blacked out the nuts and bolt in there current kits . As far as damaging the frame of the bike , I doubt it the bars will flex do to the leverage and the mounting point would break before the frame bends . IMHO
The spacers don’t have to be used, so the bolts should fit. It says in the instructions when to use them. I missed that on install and lucks I guess my bolts were just long enough
I bought a set for my Ducati Multistrada in 2019, since they have been installed, 4 welds have broken from vibration alone. (Bike has never been down) and the company will not email me back.
@@ScoutsOutindeed, another issue i ran into was that my fender over my front wheel would get caught on the bar that connects the two sides together. Making it so i couldn’t turn because my fender was stuck in between the bar and my radiator! 😅
These look very functional and look good. Is it possible to get cargo/storage bags for these crash bars? I don’t want to load up my 2023 KLR too much Lol but you never know when storage might be needed. Thank you for posting.
Have the same Bars on my 2022. Fathers Day I put her down on the side you mentioned (and others) you were worried about the Frame. Initial review shows missing paint and ground down metal. Other than that, the bars look just like before the Unexpected Get Off!
Dude the next Baja 1000 when they do the whole length of Baja and not a loop go the week before and ride to Cabo and back hitting some of the course during the pre run time there are sections that are just dirt roads and on the way back check out the race it is a spectacle! I used to run cycra wrap around hand guards that you can change out the plastic part they have different ones to swap out, those really protect your controls in a crash and they don't invade your hand area.🤙
Nice vid as always Scout... I think those bars are more "drop bars" than "crash bars"... Meaning that you're more likely to low speed drop that bike doing some adventure stuff than having a full wreck on the highway...
@@ScoutsOut I think most guys riding klr' s is to mellow in what they do to create that kind of damage at least I am. Got mine last week and have the order in for the same gaurds. Safe riding.
These look more durable then the Tusk and DirtRacks bars. Idk what other options there are but I personally think I’m gonna be dropping this thing off road a lot and want what’s most durable as long as it’s not $700 or something
I decided to buy these bars for my 22’ Adventure as well for the same reasons you have. I painted the silver hardware at the front before install. My biggest complaint is that at a somewhat higher rpm there is a very annoying metallic vibration/resonance. Have you had this issue?
Nice, I should have painted them I might do that this weekend. I have not noticed any difference in sound with them on, I will listen for it on my next ride though
I got some of the first ones made and I absolutely love them!
Nice, yea man they are great

That’s a good idea and totally agree I’ll take the bent frame lol

Damn that sucks man!

Jees sounds like a terrible fit for the Ducati
Got my adventure few months ago, getting these t-rex guards as well
nice, congrats on the new bike. I like these bars so worth it IMO

Yes man I like them a lot, I haven’t seen cargo specific for them but I have tied down a lot of things to them lol

Oh cool, well maybe not cool! but good to hear it handled it well and you got a ride in on Father's Day!
I like how they make the bike look beefier for sure
Definitely, I agree it looks stout

on man that would be fun, ill check them out I still have not settled on hand guards yet thanks
I got the sameTRex crash bars, center stand, and skid plate for the 2023 adventure.
Skid plate and Centerstand first?
Nice dude, I'd do center stand first then bars and skid last. These bikes are awesome man I ride the thing almost everyday

Thanks Phil! Yea for sure mainly for slow adventure riding drops
Very nice video buddy🤙
Thanks ck, cheers buddy
Thanks for your thoughts on these bars. What top box is that by the way?
I appreciate that man, for the top box i got the small one at first and didn’t like it. I bought this one next and love it amzn.to/3J6vKzO
Just a question where would you want to attach them if not on the frame?
The frame is still the best choice and least damaged possible. I just wonder if replacing fairings is cheaper in the long run than damaging the frame

Good point I don't ride mine hard either, if I crash it it will probly be at slow speeds putting around

Yea that's how I feel, I know I'm going to drop it and I wanted the best protection I could get

Are the axillary lights of the Adventure model protected by the T-Rex crash bars?
I think they are good as the T-Rex stick out further than the lights
