If you've been getting low mob spawn rates in your mobs farms, check out this step-by-step guide I uploaded, explaining the hidden spawn mechanics and how to setup your own farm: ruclips.net/video/QTIVRYoMxK8/видео.html Thanks again for watching everyone!
You have problematic conveyor belts touching the robotic arms. The belts need to push it into an OPEN square right in front of the arm. As it is now, if the line gets backed up, and two items are coming down at once, the arm grabs one item while the other will be pushed off the belt, onto the SAME square as the arm. It grabs from the tile in front of it, so if that tile is EMPTY items will sit there and wait to be grabbed. Hope this helps.
Thank you! I found this very easy to follow, other guides actually put me off the game with how complicated it all seemed. This was very helpful, definitely going to try it! Subbed!
The wood farm does not need to be that big. Row of seeds with tin drills on either side of the row with one space between. Use conveyors to gather. Use plank floor to block growth on other end.
Oh interesting, I was mostly going off what the wiki suggested for optimal wood growth but this is good to know. I'll test out some smaller designs, thanks!
Not wrong, but the optimized wood farm is better for more wood per said time spent. I tried it out myself, went from a simple one to adding more roots and realized the wood grows within 2 seconds.
Yeah, sounds kind of like my wood farm. I have 2 seeds, 2 spaces for growth then 2 seeds with 2 drills aimed at the growth spots. I then set up conveyors to move the wood and have a sprinkler to keep it watered just in case it speeds growth. I did 2 sets for each wood type and a series of arms and saws to make planks before sending everything to a chest
Seems like there is an issue with the cattle farm, they seem to glitch through the walls to the outside or even just elsewhere within the little pen itself. I've tried switching the thin glass with full blocks and they still do it. Bit of a shame.
I wish you can also automate farming in this game... I've played with the mod which automates farming which helps a lot in the late game while decorating and landscaping my base (which takes hours), but unfortunately the mod is broken with the 1.0 release... :(
Used your cattle farm but my bambucks glitch through the animal feeder / robotic arms / walls every time I leave them. Any idea to avoid such behavior?
It should! Mine collects eggs. Are the chickens not laying eggs at all? Maybe they need fed. The chicken things eat bugs that you catch with the net, if that's helpful
So, I tried the slime farm because my previous one was a disaster; the slimes would clip through my double walls and pits, or any barrier. The drills are not something I thought of but they seem to aggro the slime floor and not allow the slimes to spawn?
@holyheadshot5553 Hey, I've pinned a message in the comments with some notes about slime spawns etc. Making sure the ground underneath your slime is not hoed is one tip. I hope that helps! You could also leave a 1 space gap between the drill and the slime tile and they should still walk into the drills
Have you figured out how to automate food going into the troughs? I am currently thinking the mushroom spawner with some spikes to break lose the mushrooms could complete the process.
@boyudai1550 Errr, it sends them to a happier place 🫣 When you feed the animals they'll sometimes breed, excess animals get pushed into the drill by the conveyor. This way you can farm meat. Not recommended for vegetarians
@TheSilentTiger89 You can use any conducting block, light bulbs look nice too. But you're right, electric wire is probably the cheapest option if you don't have many resources yet
@kapiteinlulhaas7612 Didn't mean to flex my scarlet net worth this hard, sorry! I have a farm in my world like you've described, conveyors to move mobs onto a spike trap, with a robotic arm to move drops into a chest. Alas, I think a circle of drills is a lot more fun, and equally as easy to understand.
@@ukiyoxgames i suppose thats fair. I was thinking a new player watching might deduct that the only way of making a mob farm by using relatively pricy scarlet drills. Which would be a shame.
Sad thing that ore veins are not infinite. They have aroud 2000 pieces of ore or less. I think placing portals are cheaper and faster than conveyor belts and easier to migrate from one vein to another
This was really helpful! I have a question about the slime farm. I made mine 16 x 16, but im only getting like one slime an hour from it. Do you have advice about what I could be doing wrong?
Place conveyor belts to push the slimes toward the drills. His version is too passive. If you know how to pulse power then add tin spikes in front of the drills for faster kills
@@GriffinNestVideos you can place conveyors or spikes on any of the spawners. It will not block spawning. Just do not mix monster with cavlings or crystal biome mobs. They will wreck your farm . Mushrooms will still grow too.
@@GriffinNestVideos it does need to be big. Spawns only happen like every 10 minutes. A small farm won’t produce a lot. My farms are usually 25 x 5 for each mob with spikes on one end with corrosive slime under the spikes. Drills must pulse or it will destroy the spikes.
I've seen others on reddit saying they get slow spawn rates too. Apparently slimes/mobs have a chance to spawn every 15 minutes, but this can be increased if you put your farm over the corner of 4 separate 16x16 chunks. There's a super detailed guide on mob spawning over on steam: steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2846860078 There's a lot to take in so I might make a simplified video version on this
I ran out of iron so much.... I can't find any iron boulders. I've spent a few hours already grid mining with an iron hammer that's max upgraded in the stone biome. I hate iron
@Jasmin-ng6jv I couldn't get it to work with drills because the drill breaks the fungi spawn tile. But I did get something working with just spike traps and robotic arms. I basically laid out a 1x7 line of fungi tiles. Placed spike traps on top which automatically break the mushrooms. Then a line of robotic arms to pick up the broken mushrooms and place them on conveyor belts. I set this up on the intersection of 4 chunks. So the fungi tiles were basically 2x28. If that makes sense. I explain spawning mechanics in another video, which is linked in the comments.
@irondragon1246 I've not personally seen them break the drill myself, so I think it should be okay. I did just upload a video explaining how mob farms work which might be helpful too
@patoxd3435 It should, but the drills will take a long time to kill the purple slimes as they have a lot of hp. My other mob farming video shows a better farm that's a bit less automated but gets more drops overall

The thing about this game is there are tons of different ways you can farm or set it up. Its awesome
Totally agree with you! You can make your farms fit to your base however it may look, the devs did a great job on this one

Why does the wood need to be six tiles before the drill? Is there a reason?
