In my experience, the only people who look down on 9-5 are those who are worse off than myself or trying to scam/manipulate me. Don't let anyone make you question your values. You are doing something, which is always better than doing nothing.
Exactly 💯 I hate when alot of these motivation channels/society trash on the 9 to 5 workers, when in reality, if you start a business, you'll probably need 9 to 5 employees 😂
Not really I use to work multiple 9-5 and what I got as a result a and the last one I was there for almost 10 years. What did I get in return disrespect, nepotism blocking my elevation, a CEO who took a shot at my morals the day I got promoted, a malicious hr manager who offered me less payment for a higher position. 9-5 are not for everyone because not everyone is gone bow down to mediocre management.
I think it’s the fact that the 9 to 5 grind doesn’t pay as well as it used to in the past. Before, people could live pretty comfortably on a 9 to 5 salary. Nowadays, people are barely making it and that includes people making 6 figures who you would think would be doing well. People are taking on 2-3 additional jobs or side hustles outside of their 9 to 5 just to make ends meet which is obviously not ideal. People are being made to feel like they’re just grinding just to grind. Nobody wants to work just to feel like they’re barely surviving or being forced to make the choice between paying rent so that they don’t end up homeless or buying enough groceries so that they have enough food to last them for a week. So you have to understand the frustration and anger that a lot of people are feeling towards the 9 to 5 grind. It’s not necessarily “Oh they’re just being lazy, they need to just suck it up and work harder.” They’re working hard, but they’re not reaping the benefits. Plus it’s not exactly easy to just find a higher-paying job especially in today’s economy which further compounds the problem. That’s why people are upset. Let’s not be insensitive about their frustration and anger. They’re literally living to work instead of working to live. Nobody wants to constantly do something if they feel like the juice isn’t worth the squeeze.
I used to be a gangster. Now I'm a bus driver. When you age you'll learn, prison is not the way to go. I never got caught. I knew to quit while i was ahead. You will need health insurance and life insurance when you get over 40 years old.
Thank you brotha I've always been torn , my father wanted me to chase my dreams , my mother wanted me to be practical.. now I realize to chase the dream I have to build a practical foundation.
Exact same here. My mother didn't want me to move out! She wanted me to be her little helper. When I was doing what I loved to do and making money, she purposely destroyed everything I built then said she never did anything to me. She won't take any accountability at all
Thanks bro for pounding on this topic consistently to make clear how delusional some people are when it comes to working a regular job. People are just drawn to quick money and denying the fact that it has to start from somewhere. Thanks so much!
Use your job to finance your dreams. Working builds knowledge, budget better and character. More money cause more problems for most people. Financial literacy is important. Good content Brother.
The topic of a 9-5 job as it relates to slavery is subjective. People will say that if you rent a house or apartment then you must be poor. Some things, however is common sense. Owning a business and becoming an entrepreneur is not the only way to generate wealth. It always gets me when people say oh start a business and become your own boss. I do not argue that that is not a a good idea. You can get a trade, go to school to become a nurse/ doctor. It depends on a person’s mindset. So I agree on that part. I’m not trying to brag but I’ll take my sister for example I’m not going to disclose her income but she is a psychiatrist and she’s not even 40 yet. That isn’t a low paying job. She owns a beautiful home in Syracuse NY and 2 nicer vehicles. She followed her dreams not what society believed she should be. She’s been wanting to get off into medicine since she was little and she did everything to make that happen. I think the best way to gain wealth is to follow what you like doing. Lastly, I’m not being rude but owning a business in this era is tough especially when we got a lot of businesses that’s been around awhile that’s going out of business for example Best Buy is slowly shuttering Wendy’s here in Michigan have permanently closed 13 chains. The economy we live in requires strategic planning. If you do not realize things is becoming much difficult in every spectrum of society. That’s just my thought though
By that logic. If 50% of the workforce quit and went into owning a business. Who would work at these current places and the new business owner places. Competition will be widely increased causing most businesses to fail. When that happens, where do the “failures go?
Locked in, Love your videos bro, I think you should Keep The WORDS Big on your thumbnails like this one in this video, it helps for those who are on Mobile.
Whoever said that working a 9-to-5 makes you a slave is a lazy person who doesn't want to put in the work. Working a 9-to-5 can open opportunities. In 2018, I went from being a part-time stocker to the Overnight Stocking lead six years later. Because I wanted to position myself in the company. And another thing, I was taught generational wealth by my mother. She taught me that because she saw how hard it was for my grandparents to get jobs in the 1940s, '50s, '60s, and even the '70s due to racism handcuffing minorities from getting good jobs. That's why my mother always told me to remain on my job until better opportunities come. But don't quit when you're getting a consistent paycheck
9-to-5 jobs are a great starting point for many people, as they provide stability and consistent income while building experience. However, they may not align with everyone’s long-term goals, especially if someone wants more control over their time or finances. Depending on the job, the income may not always cover larger expenses, like housing or a car, which can make it challenging to rely solely on that income for the future. That’s why it’s important to think beyond just one source of income. Diversifying your skills and exploring other opportunities, such as starting a business or learning high-income skills, can create more financial security. While some 9-to-5 roles pay well and offer flexibility, others may have less stability, as businesses can experience downturns or restructuring. Ultimately, it’s about finding what works for your goals and making sure you’re not putting all your eggs in one basket. A combination of traditional work and other income streams can help you stay prepared for any situation
I believe everybody is given opportunities in life, what makes us different is what we manage to do with those opportunities, our generation has been presented with a lot of these opportunities but I guarantee you that some will still make nothing out of these opportunities its just life,
don’t have children unless you’re touching real paper, I had a great childhood because my parents were fairly young in raising me & did a lot w/ me growing up. but for me to have kids & act like loving ‘em is enough for them to have a great life is foolishness.
People that say 9-5 is slavery don’t know what it takes to be a business owner. The business will own you! You will need to be committed 24hrs to that business, that’s when you will become a slave. But put in the work and you’ll get to harvest the fruits in the future
Dont let any moron convince you that having a normal job makes you a slave or a loser. I went to college, got my degree and work full time in finance. I 100% make more than most of these "I would never work a 9-5" type guys. Smh.
Facts people gotta stop complaining who gives a damn what my did was doing in the 80s. That ain't got shit to do with my issues today. If you don't take college seriously you will end up on the other side. Stop all the partying and drinking and smoking weed. Put video games down also give hip-hop and sports a break. You gotta be fully locked in with what you trying to do. Too many distraction going on is the problem. People talk about business half the people can't even show up for work on Monday morning. You gotta learn how to hold down a job before owning ya own business. Stop worrying about AI and worry about right now it's 2024 .

The 9-5 is a step up from indentured servitude.

Great video!
Economic degrees is a good trade.. you can work finances for a lot of different corporations theater may not be as much
Yeah, that’s the only bad advice he gave. An economic degree is a very good degree & versatile. He might have misspoke.

9-5 doesn’t make you a slave. I work one rn and I’m not even complaining. I’m trynna build my bank account and shine later.
Most slaves didn’t complain back in the days either. Harriet Tubman said they didn’t even wanna leave
I am trying to grow my channel. I am so tired of working a 9-5!!!
That’s real
I thought about something like this
Yall get on my damn nerves with this loosely defined “slave” you have free will to leave any job you want to. A slave was bought and sold property
Y’all need to stop complaining to Linval bout 9-5’s 😂😂😂😂 this man is me 9-5 himself he gon check yo lazy ass 😂😂
