I covered it briefly, should have gone more in depth for sure since there's a lot of questions regarding the timing. I do believe, as long as the fight is faster than 1min 10/15 seconds, you need to pre-summon your inferno, to give it bloodlust. If the fight is longer than that, let's say a 2 minute Patchwerk fight, then you want to summon inferno 60 seconds before Patchwerk dies, it can be hard to time it perfectly but weak auras with "time to die", can show you when it expects the boss to die taken current raid dps into consideration. If you summon it during the fight and you have more than 1 shaman, you can try and ask for a mid fight bloodlust if you bloodlusted on pull, giving your inferno bloodlust!

is there a good weak aura icon besides the normal warlock weak auras I want to know what I have proc on my talents and my gear props and how long I have to spam for more dmg or time basically in the middle of my screen and I also would like to see the opener and execute phase detailed this was a amazing video btw makes me want to keep my lock affliction can't seem to get over 2.1k dps sometimes and I am very well geared I kno its hard for these short boss fights but I'm doing something wrong so anything is helpful thanks for this video
@@codykost1174 weak aura's can do all that u just need to configure it but power auras I've used a fair bit & is very easy to use & set up & covers all that. I hit 80 2 weeks ago & in blues & 3 epics (2pvp) only a couple enchants & gems so far& I get 2k so something is def wrong me-thinks.

ooh plz no Cata that was the beginning of the end. Just look at the numbers - steady decline from there. They have said Wrath will be it, I hope so, but there are xpac's I'm sure others would like to play again. I'd go MoP -yes Ik some think it was a bit cartoony/panda's etc. But when it came to spending time in-game as I played through I have to say I really enjoyed it. There was always something fun to do and new clever things , own farm plot, buff items (think Lilly pad), all the 'Isles" a great end raid ++the BEST EVER chain quest & it was for our Fel Fire -I did it then hard mode & it was the Most challenging, fun quest I've ever done. I main'd a Warlock tho so....heh >

Regarding the weapon swapping and it wasting a GCD, you can mask the GCD that incurs from switching weapons by switching right after casting an instant cast ability. This way the GCD from switching weapons is "masked" by the GCD you incurred from pressing an instant cast ability, essentially wasting no time if done correctly. You could even macro equipping your main wep into your Corruption like this: /use Corruption /equip Main-Weapon and you'll lose only a fraction of a second due to server delay. Also don't forget about the warlock quest items you can get from AQ. The ones that buff your pet's dmg by 5%. You can summon your pet with those 3 set items equipped and it'll maintain the +5% dmg increase as long as it's alive even after swapping to your normal gear.

Hey man! I think you did a good job condensing the pnuances of affliction warlock gameplay. When I was playing affliction warlock, I used to practice alot by doing the following; 1. 3x dummy sandbox mode. Try to keep shadowsembrace & corr up on all 3. 2. Play 2v2/3v3 as affliction. 3. Use specific targetting macro for fights requiring a third target to damage (your target+focus+specific name). With the API-limitations of WOW, I had to make specific dot-tracker by name for the third target (but i guess boss1-2-3-etc can work now on this client). Look forward to your next video!

you should pretty much always weapon swap imo, as you can weapon swap during gcd, so you can have a macro with /cast corruption /equip main hand /equip off hand, and the only loss you will have is the difference between your hasted gcd and normal gcd, as weapon swapping incurrs a 1.5 sec gcd regardless of haste. You should also swap a wand for more crit as you can also swap it mid fight. Another small thing is you dont keep your other dots up because of soul siphon, soul siphon will be maxed by haunt shadow embrace and corruption already, they are just worth it as long as you get a full duration out of them

So the first cast you did. You applied corruptions before shadow mastery was enabled onto the boss. You need to fill that global cooldown with something else before applying your corruption.
Excellent question. There's many factors to this question, using a nightfall procc right before boss dies to make a shadow bolt hit when the next drain tick couldnt hit, are u snapshotting huge drain souls or not and so on. The information i've gotten from sims and looking at all the top parsers as of right now, neither the sims or the players tend to use their Nightfall proccs
Love the content! Question on all the shards we generate due to high use of drain soul during execution phase. Is there an add on or macro to help auto delete the shards after a certain number are in our bags? Thanks so much for all the detailed information!
Necrosis can do it for you, the way I do it as affliction is I stock like 20 soul shards in my bank, and since they're unique (32), I can never have more than 12 in my bags!

I have played Affliction many years myself also, from back in 09 to private servers etc. so have a lot of experience myself. I used to get such great dmg my guild often couldn't work out how lolz. #1 every week in ICC made the mages, DK's etc so sad. Your opener doesn't matter too much, most important thing to remembeer is corruption > everything as soon as the crit debuffs are up it takes prio on all
Brainlet here, why do you not want 3 stacks of Shadow Embrace before snapshotting corruption? Unless the stacking effect only applies to healing reduction and not the 5% damage dealt?
Mostly because Haunt itself doesnt do good damage, and if you have haunt casted as first ability you have no dots on the target to benefit from haunts debuff
I use a bunch of WeakAuras, all of them to be found on my discord (invite link in description) - and then only a few addons for UI, like "Easy Frames, Bartender4 and Details"

So we should wait for dying curse proc then we use wild magic - shadow bolt- UA- haunt - corruption ? Thats the rotation for normal bosses that doesn’t have any damage or crit buff right? When you talk about snapshotting, i dont understand if i need to reaply my dot if i have a jewel proc, my dot will benefit thé spell poker even if i dont reaply them ? And same thing about siphon soul if i have a jewerly proc i need to wait my Last tick and reaply for my siphon soul benefit the huge amount of spell power that i gain. Standing at max range might make the Shadow Embrace stacks from Haunt more annoying to time in execute phase due to travel time. It's doable, but feels more wonky. Assuming threat and mechanics aren''t an issue, standing a bit closer could make it feel smoother. Btw, is it worth using a Nightfall proc right after a tick of Drain Soul in the execute phase? As it refreshes SE I feel like it is. I'm new to Affliction so any thoughts are appreciated :)
Haha sadly/thankfully this will not be an issue. Warcraftlogs has already stated that tricks damage will be a category of its own, and not added to the specific players. An example of this can be found here in one of my beta logs: classic.warcraftlogs.com/reports/FzwpkLg89f7HrYWc/#type=damage-done&boss=-3&difficulty=0
Firstly, I would figure out just how important each target is. Warcraftlogs are making rules on what mobs counts towards your damage in the logs. If eg. the Anub guardians do count, I would treat them as a pure multi-target all equal value as they can live for quite a while.

Does snapping corruption with haste dont work? Like if engi gloves proc haste isnt it worth to re apply? You say its only crit and dmg % modifiers that works but i would like to make sure :). Im guessing it just shines when using drain soul as mentioned in your earlier vid.
Thank you for your question, "rolling" haste doesn't work either, it is refreshed every time u refresh your corruption when you have Quick Decay glyph!
Do trinket proccs apply to your corruption? I know it doesn't roll - but e.g: Corruption is already applied -> My trinkets proc or I simply use them. Are these procs applied as soon as they proc, or do they apply after refreshing e.g. via shadow bolt? Because sometimes when I want to reapply my corruption at Boss health
Your current Spellpower is applied to your corruption, every time you refresh it via shadow bolt / drains / haunt etc! If it says a more powerful spell already active, you just gotta refresh it once more at your current spellpower!

u must wait or ull do 75% less damage
Sadly you have to wait for the boss to actually be 25% or lower, if u cast it at 25,1% it will not do the x4 dmg :(

Your opener doesn't matter too much, most important thing to remembeer is corruption > everything as soon as the crit debuffs are up it takes prio on all

Nope, stuff like curse of elements and shadow embrace and haunt debuff works dynamically!
12:10 did you reapply corruption in this part of the clip? since you did not have shadow bolt debuff on the target when you applied corruption.

Brainlet here, why do you not want 3 stacks of Shadow Embrace before snapshotting corruption? Unless the stacking effect only applies to healing reduction and not the 5% damage dealt?

here's a question, why not start with haunt because of its travel time? (on opener)
Mostly because Haunt itself doesnt do good damage, and if you have haunt casted as first ability you have no dots on the target to benefit from haunts debuff

So we should wait for dying curse proc then we use wild magic - shadow bolt- UA- haunt - corruption ? Thats the rotation for normal bosses that doesn’t have any damage or crit buff right?
At 35 percent of the boss we re-apply corruption ? Or we lose the imprinted dying curse damage

When you talk about snapshotting, i dont understand if i need to reaply my dot if i have a jewel proc, my dot will benefit thé spell poker even if i dont reaply them ? And same thing about siphon soul if i have a jewerly proc i need to wait my Last tick and reaply for my siphon soul benefit the huge amount of spell power that i gain.

Thank you for the comment! Spell power is "updated" every time you refresh the corruption with shadow bolt / drains / haunt and so on!

Standing at max range might make the Shadow Embrace stacks from Haunt more annoying to time in execute phase due to travel time. It's doable, but feels more wonky. Assuming threat and mechanics aren''t an issue, standing a bit closer could make it feel smoother.
Btw, is it worth using a Nightfall proc right after a tick of Drain Soul in the execute phase? As it refreshes SE I feel like it is. I'm new to Affliction so any thoughts are appreciated :)

Haha sadly/thankfully this will not be an issue. Warcraftlogs has already stated that tricks damage will be a category of its own, and not added to the specific players. About multi target, how would you play on boss like Anub or Faerlina in order to parse? And for Grobbulus? Tyvm
Firstly, I would figure out just how important each target is. Warcraftlogs are making rules on what mobs counts towards your damage in the logs. If eg. the Anub guardians do count, I would treat them as a pure multi-target all equal value as they can live for quite a while.
if you activate drain soul while the target is at above 25% will the damage be 4x once he goes under 25% of do you have to recast it ?

Does snapping corruption with haste dont work? Like if engi gloves proc haste isnt it worth to re apply? You say its only crit and dmg % modifiers that works but i would like to make sure :). Im guessing it just shines when using drain soul as mentioned in your earlier vid.
Thank you for your question, "rolling" haste doesn't work either, it is refreshed every time u refresh your corruption when you have Quick Decay glyph!

I use the casting bar addon called Quartz, and then I enable "Show channeling ticks" in settings for my Player cast bar!

Do trinket proccs apply to your corruption? I know it doesn't roll - but e.g: Corruption is already applied -> My trinkets proc or I simply use them. Are these procs applied as soon as they proc, or do they apply after refreshing e.g. via shadow bolt?
Because sometimes when I want to reapply my corruption at Boss health
Your current Spellpower is applied to your corruption, every time you refresh it via shadow bolt / drains / haunt etc!
If it says a more powerful spell already active, you just gotta refresh it once more at your current spellpower!
