If you want higher audio quality, stop using mp3, instead, record from a higher-quality source, like CD, or a subscribed streaming service, apple, spotify, pandora, or tidal, and encode to OPUS instead at 128k -- sounds low but I can't tell the difference from 96k (-cvbr) from flac, that good. 160 mp3 almost gets there, but OPUS 96 or 112 is better than mp3 160
youtube uses opus, and is open-source free license, and still being developed and improved, made by the same group that makes FLAC and OGG Vorbis.

I use 320kb/s mp3 when I'm not using WAV, and as I record the mp4 that gets uploaded here (as I am well aware of what youtubes encoding does to degrade everything) I am also recording to WAV. this particular track only exists as a mid quality tape rip done with late 90's encoding, so not much I can do there (I did actually go into audacity with and remove as much of the tape noise as I could)... but thanks, I am also an audio snob and I am glad others exist
