How Ritchie is not considered the greatest all around guitarist in the World is Beyond me. He is brilliant also Acoustically. No one has the body of work Ritchie has done. In all that work he has never repeated anything. He has the best tone ever and when he feels like it possibly with Hendrix the best performer ever to be on stage period.
You nailed it.He doesn't just do scales up and down the neck.He searches for different notes every night. He was at the peak of his technical abilities in this video. I preferred his tone and some of his playing in the 70's,but there is no doubt that technically he is better here.Pretty great!
agreed. very like Buddy Guy in he knows how to play it loud then soft, play it fast then slow, knows how to trade off with other players, ie Jon Lord. He also one of the few (like Jeff Beck) who can start a solo, go off on a ten-minute tangent, then at the end bring it right back to where he left it and finish the piece. And I like how he just kind of floats his hand behind the neck delicately "tapping" the notes he wants to play that's kind artful to watch! Truly the most amazing and entertaining guitar player we shall ever witness.
Last time I saw Ritchie play was ‘84 Perfect Strangers Tour. He was in a good mood that night, and it showed. His level of improvisation is levels above most, and he left the audience hanging on every note. Incredible.
Hundreds of Americans watched and listened to Ritchie Blackmore and thought: 'wouldn't it be great to have all those diddly-diddly fast finger runs all through every song for 4 hours'. No, it wouldn't. Ritchie knew that you can have too much of a good thing.
I was there in Germany and, still today after more than 15 years, it is unforgettable...the closest contact between God and a guitar...Everything around was simply blinded by the feeling of his notes...The only true guitar legend in rock...
@@flavio3770 nice feedback.....but, 22 yrs back now, memories are still vivid as 7 yrs ago when I wrote the comment.....the one and only maestro in rock......his Fender passed from sweetness to heavy metal in a blink of an eye......still today unforgettable
Thank you Ritchie for all your music done since 1968 . I was 7 y old when I heard your Guitar for the first time . Now I m 63 y young :))) I can’t get enough of your specific guitar sound and technique
Blackmoore just has something special, magical, ethereal, sorcery, to his sound. It's just otherworldly. He's by far the most recognisable axe legend, and probably the best slide player ever too.
Ricordi vivi di stupore e meraviglia nel solo "impossibile" di "child in time" in "made in japan" quando ancora non v'erano video e tutto era immaginazione! Un vero monumento regalato ai posteri.
I've always been a Ritchie Blackmore fan, since I got the Deep Purple in Rock album for my 11th birthday in 1970 ! I remember the Deep Purple (when Hef introduced them) at the Playboy mansion ."Purple till I die" . Lol 🌌
the legendary ritchie..it's always riveting and addictive to watch him..once u start on a video, u have to go to the next, and the next, and before u know it, it's way past bedtime! luckily old timer like me have all the time in the world to watch this guitar god, and deep purple, and rainbow...good way to start my day each day, and a good tune to end my day each evening is son of alerik instrumental piece...awesome!
There are many Top-Guitarists - Al di Meola, Eddie van Halen, Santana, Mclaughin, Knopfler, Page or - of course - Jimi Hendrix. For my ears and my taste of music Ritchie wears the crown!
@@deansusec8745 Toni R mentioned Knopfler. He was good. Ritchie was just a little more exciting than the other guys. I have seen just about all the greats except for Santana and Hendrix. I had my Son's friends ask me who I thought was the best. I always replied all those guys we're damn good.
I completely agree with this statement because Blackmore is the rare addition of technicality to musicality, which most guitarists have rarely combined ! ..
Se a dicho que Hendrix fue quien empezo pero sin duda Blackmore es quien dio el toque para una nueva generacion de guitarristas electricos es el padre de muchos otros grandes guitarristas de hoy dia. Sin duda el mejor!!!!
He's one of my favorite guitars in the world. I don't think anyone could best him in his heyday. Just because other guitars may be more popular in America don't mean they're better. I'll take Ritchie Blackmore over Jimmy Page 3 times on Sunday. I like Tony Iommi better than Page. Just me, everyone has their opinions.
Zep and Floyd are completed. They have no space to add something. Hendrix and Blackmore seem eccentric, instable and incomplete. And that makes them so attractive.

The greatest of all time... To an unparalleled melody and a cleanliness of the sound that not to any other guitarist..

Touch and cleanliness of absolute sound.. The best of all time...
Even when Ritchie plays fast you can still here every note.
Ritchie definitely plays the 12 notes differently than all others.

I want to thank Ritchie's Dad for buying him a guitar and sending him to lessons. I can't imagine had never listened to Mr. Blackmore.
