Today on pReview'd, Jay and Adam react to the Overwatch 2 cinematic reaction, then review it, and at the end Jay gives it his special rating. It's just so well interwoven. But i think what makes him tear up, what makes me tear up, is the music. The music is what incredibly elevates it.

I don't blame you for being emotional about it, this was one of the best cinematic that Overwatch has put out. Great reaction. I'm going to say something, i just subscribed to this channel because i enjoy watching your reactions, it's unfiltered and raw which is good. A lot of people do reaction videos and repress their emotions, trying not to cry or cheer or pump their fist with joy. It's a Reaction Video if you repress yourself, you're missing the point. You guys seem to take it all in and whether by choice or not, you express to us, the viewers how you really feel and it makes me smile. Stay true to yourselves and your feelings. Life is too short to live bottled up and repressed. All the best.

Oh and quick overview for what Overwatch 2 is: Storymode, "highly replayable" co-op pve missions, pve leveling system and insane skill modifications that would be too crazy for pvp. The rest that comes with Overwatch 2 (new pvp mode "push", new maps, new heroes) will also come to Overwatch one. You will basically only buy the story and pve aspect. And all your skins get ported over.

I'm still waiting for an Overwatch movie in the cinemas, made in this style. Even if the story is poorly developed and the game is PvP focused, Overwatch is the "gaming" Avengers. And all the cinematics before [this one the most] prove that this universe has a MASSIVE movie potential.
Also there is another trailer for the game [around 3 minutes] where they explain what will be new in O2.
Also, don't worry: I've watched the cinematic alone at least 30 times, watched 100 different reactions and each time I teared up like a little bitch. It's the music man, the music elevates this cinematic.

The cinematic for Mei was after the Recall cinematic, as was McCree's that introduced Echo, as was Reinhardt's. Because all three make the call back to the Recall order.
With McCree to Echo "I was called, but they need you." and then Rein to Brig "I was called..and I must answer it."

I love this reaction SO much because I'm a very sensitive person. Every time I watch an OW cinematic I get really hyped and sometimes I stop breathing and even tear up because of how excited I get. I just love this game despite its flaws and how people mock it, and the cinematics just move me so much. That's why this reaction is just so special to me AAAHHHH. Both guys are awesome, but I especially love the one on the right, his excitement is just so endearing and relatable!

Yeah Overwatch I think connects with us so much because its the kinda of heroes we would love to have in the real world , not dark , not super comedic just more heroic and more than that optimistic and hopeful for a better future something we just dont have a lot of this days.I imagine this is what Superman meant for people going through or after World War 1 and 2 and all that dread in the Cold War. Sometimes we just need a feel good story to cheer us up and makes us hopeful again , kinda like when we were kids and the future seemed so bright for us.

I was mad that Winston didn't say "Heroes never die" during the scene with mei.
This cinematic definitely takes place right after the Recall animated short. This is my second favorite cinematic right after Reinhardt’s.

I have watched this so many times. Like you said i love the character soooooo much and this cinematic is so damn cool. Just seeing how the cinematic actually were linear and all came together for this one.

The engine isn’t new, it’s actually just updated. And yes Sorjourn was announced, I believe she will be the next character to be released. Overwatch 2’s biggest draw will be the story mode PvE because all the PvP updates and characters will also be available in Overwatch 1

Here's the thing. Overwatch 1 cinematics was about these characters you could play as. BUT they all followed a timeline, they basically showed us where they are right before or right now and it was leading up to something. OVERWATCH 2 IS THAT SOMETHING!!! It's what we've all been waiting for! what's up with Talon and what's their agenda? Except for at the korean shoreline most omnic wars are over but now they're on the rise again? Soldier 76 story is about what happened to the downfall of overwatch?
I think the main campaign will deal with the null sector threat and i hope most of these mysteries will be answered or explored to some extent in the hero missions.

I know I'm a year late BUT I totally agree with you on the Avengers feel! The thing is, if we aren't attached to these characters, then the writers aren't doing their jobs right so the fact that this moves us as a community means A LOT! Also, I loved this video :)

I’ve actually gone back to watch this trailer a few times in the past week for those happy Winston tears.
You were right to suspect that Overwatch 2 was running on a different engine, the main reason for this was that Overwatch 1, despite three different Archive missions, could not support the demand and complexity needed for an actual PvE campaign, and the work needed for that would be enough for a whole separate game. Jeff admitted this in an interview long ago, and he was right. So here we are.
Also, Overwatch 1 and 2 will have a sort of shared experience, with Overwatch 1 cosmetics, icons, sprays and skins going with you into 2, while the new maps, Characters and game modes in 2 will be shared with 1.

Man, I would have killed to have seen these guys react to Reinhardt's cinematic "Honor and Glory" lol, would be nice to know I wasn't the only guy that cried like a baby watching that cinematic. xD
I can tell you that I teared up a little during Reinhardt’s and Mei’s vid. Blizzard are amazing story tellers.
I never see anyone talk about it, but I always personally tear up at the "I'll be right behind you" from Winston. The animation and the shot give it such weight, Winston knows he's probably about to die to give everyone a shot of getting out of there, and he has to put on a brave face so the others don't lose hope and trust him to run as fast as they can. The biggest thing for me is that "I'll be right behind you" outside of being a nice parallel from earlier, is basically Winston's only chance at a goodbye to one of his greatest friends. And the way she responds is so sad yet determined, Tracer and Winston are both battered by the lives they led as OW agents, Tracer knows Winston may not come out of this either, but she still tries to rescue the innocents at stake. Just the looks they give each other, Winston with an almost pleading look to let him do this so they can leave and Tracer's reluctant agreement with the held back hope that he'd better make it out. It just gets me every time man

I don't care about the game (I hate multiplayer), but this needs to be turned into a full length animated feature!
By the way... how come that so may of these game cinematics have so much more sense for timing, heart and "crowning moments of awesome" than any of the movie studios specialized on animated movies (Pixar etc.). The only thing that comes close to something like that is Into the Spider-Verse. I didn't even know any of the characters (never played Overwatch) but this cinematic gave me goosebumps, brought tears to my eyes and made me feel as if I had known these characters for years!

Technically, all of the animated cinematics (outside of the flashback that was Honor and Glory) all took place during the present day of Overwatch. And, while the game itself tends to have events that take place in Overwatch's past, they'd still keep bringing in characters from Present Day Overwatch as well as continue Overwatch's present day stories in the comics you can find on their website.
