Mr. Vasu Very happy to see house getting shape, I have an suggestion for Roof construction 1) Rohtak Doom Roof 2) Madras Roof and 3) Terracotta Roof tiles(Mangalore Roof tiles 2 layers). Use Solar Panels for Electricity
Thanks Mr Prabhu. I’ve opted for puffed roofing with false ceiling inside. My span was huge so didn’t want to take a chance. Yes I’m exploring solar panels
Sir your way of explaining is very perfect Infact its better then the professional's....... Sir plz tell what all things not to do... I mean which may look small but can have big negative impact
Thanks for your nice words. Following are my learning. 1. Smoothness of the plywood surface should be regularly checked. Overtime, undulations on the surface would impair the smooth finish of walls. 2. Planning conceived piping for electricity in advance will save lot of time effort and cost. Further the walls will maintain a neat finish. 3. It’s better the plan lintel level at 7 ft, as it’s very difficult to source doors for 8 ft. 4. Using shutters for corners, will ensure a smooth and nice finish.
Wonderful. Couple of questions. 1. What kind of a roof are you going for? Would it also be made of earth? 2. I assume you are doing the rammed earth walls using some architecture firm. What would be the cost per sft that he is charging?
Thanks. I’ve opted for puffed fabricated roofing. I did consult an expert to start with, trained my local masons for a day by the expert from Auroville. Rest, we built ourselves. I paid Rs 8,000 to the expert and reimbursed his travel costs.
@@OPTIMAVASU Nice to hear. Immense satisfaction when saying, Did It By Myself, I think. :) Plan to do what you have done in six months. Hope it's fine if I talk to you then about your experience and tips...
I used puffed sheet for roofing, ran the Electricals beneath and concealed it with a false ceiling. In the walls we drilled cavities for running Electricals and plumbing pipes and filled them with sand and fine clay
@@OPTIMAVASU Thank You So Much Sir ....Your Project is like Dream come True ...... Sir one more Question If you can Answer Please What's The Difference In Construction Cost Of Rammed Earth technology and Normal Concrete Structures???
Sir, why can’t we make arch shaped lintel with clay bricks or rammed earth since the load will only be transferred in compression for arches and concrete can be avoided.
Hello Mr Vasu, Did you have to apply for construction permit or any approval from Town and country planning? Are there any construction codes to be followed for rammed earth construction?
The purpose of rammed earth construction is to go natural. But then why concrete? You could have used stone of 10-12 ft long instead. I am not sure about the availability of these kind of stone but you can see in Rajasthan and northern part. Wood is also another option used widely.
You have the answer right there, the availability and the cost, including the cost of transport. Considering that, I had gone for three slabs. Slabs essentially would constitute 5% of over all structure only.
@@OPTIMAVASU That's fine Sir ji. I was just expecting that with curiosity and 100% natural which is almost impossible. But whatever you are doing is very good. I will learn lot of things from your experience.

Construction permits are decided by the laws of the land, which is the same for any kind of construction

Sir what is the ratio of cement.soil.sand please tell me.
I’ve used 7% cement. It depends in the clay, sand composition of your soil
Didi u used any rebar in reinforcemnet in the wall
No bars for the walls
Tamil Nadu is in Earthquake zone 4 so, no vertical rebars required.
@@OPTIMAVASU so could it be called as load bearing structure.also what's the width of the walls
