Hey Roderick...Loving your stuff...Thank you much...I trade now on Tradovate with Trading View...Very simple and intuitive for me...is there anything comparable on NT8 in terms of the trading view order panel? I don't scalp, use basic limit orders with profit and target for each entry...TV allows me to set the max risk in $ amount and adjust the rest from there...hoping there is something similar for NT8 as I would like to take advantage of that platform to copy trades...thanks again...
Is it possible to create a bracket order that will cancel and become an MOC order to close the position if neither the profit target nor stop loss is hit before the end of the session? I like to use bracket orders but don't like to carry positions overnight unintentionally.
No, you can't create an order with that logic but you can ask your broker to liquidate / close open positions and orders at a set time each day. You can also set a number of risk parameters directly in some platforms like Tradovate.
Great video. Just started a monthly account with Leeloo. I'm new to Ninja, and I've just spent the last hour trying to figure out how to move my stop in the DOM. I wasn't able to drag the stop or target like Tradovate does. Probably something simple like clicking the middle mouse button while dragging it. Looking at Apex, and it does look better at the 50k account that Leeloo has, because you get two more contracts to trade. I could actually use those two extra contracts on 6A and 6J during the London session. I saw your Apex video, I'll check that out now.
Thanks for the idea for my next Ninja video. The DOM on Ninja is pretty terrible. RE: Apex, note that if you're in a Leeloo evaluation you won't be able to trade both Apex and Leeloo in the same Ninja instance since you can only have one Rithmic connection. You could do R | Trader for one and Ninja for the other. The R Trader DOM is MUCH better than Ninja. I'll record that video today and post.
I like ninjatrader and currently in apex program. Just ridiculous that vwap and volume profile does not come standard. Most platforms provides this. Also, that ninja trader is not within one single window. Makes it difficult to minimize. Anyway
Agreed, I was very annoyed when Ninja moved the Order Flow Suite of indicators to the paid license. Here are alternatives many of our members use. tradersdevgroup.supporthero.io/article/show/141300-is-there-a-free-version-of-volume-profile-or-vwap-bands-for-ninjatrader
I'm off NinjaTrader and back on Tradovate. Tradovate is intuitive and snappy if you haven't tried it. Amazing how different they are considering they're the same company.
I have a life time licensing but Im not sure if how to trade with stock coz right now Im trading futures but have not tried the stock. It would be nice if you can make a video for stocks trading too. Thanks a lot.
The easiest way to get stock data into NinjaTrader is to buy a data plan from kinetick.com/ That will get you stock data in Ninja but not a connection to a broker where you can trade stocks. Yes, you can connect NinjaTrader to TD and Interactive Brokers but the API set-up is detailed. It's best to Google for the instructions.
I really like the NT ATM's Even the Auto BE. CTRL-Z also enables the OCO. There is a green box at the top next to the link boxes that displays OC (Sorry I like shortcut keys)
Unlikely I'll do an entire video on this. Creating a connection in NinjaTrader is pretty simple. From the Control Center select Connections > configure and then you'll need the credentials for the broker or connection you are setting up. Google "connecting a broker to NinjaTrader" and you'll the exact instructions.
Nope. Apex doesn't issue a separate SIM account with the same rules, so anything placed in SIM 101 doesn't effect your monitored account. Of note, other firms like Earn2Trade will actually give you a separate SIM account with the same rules so you can practice in a SIM account that has the same rules.
@@futuresfanatic this is great thank you. No I don’t need the same rules, I’m just trying to figure out how to use the platform without wrecking my account! Lol Oh boy did I miss a huge trade (I’m actually sick about! That one trade alone would have qualed my account) today while working out Ninja (on a Mac through VMWare) … it’s all new to me (pc’s) so there’s a learning curve. BUT the sim is great for that (chart building, getting comfortable placing trades, watching the Rtrader and my charts while in a trade) It’s all good, others will come and I’ll be ready. Thank you so much for the input! Good luck to ya!
Set up an ATM Strategy - you can create multiple stops and targets for each order and scale, scale and trail, and apply other logic. You can find the ATM Strategy in the chart trader as a drop down below the account.
@@futuresfanatic I always use the ATM on every trade I take. I always have a stop loss and take profit in place as I take the trade. To minimize my losses. I will look again at what you say but I couldn't find a single you tube video on scaling in or out or taking partials. Hopefully your words "scale and trail" will make the search come alive, cheers, steven
I go into the indicators and NinjaTrader (which is a trading platform) in detail in my course which I'm giving away free: tradersdevgroup.com/free-futures-course/
It's a great platform. NInja has a RUclips channel with lots of training and you might also check out my free Futures Foundation Course where I most show Ninja in the lessons. tradersdevgroup.com/free-futures-course/
Yeah, those foolish traders looking to make a one-time payment for a lifetime license including upgrades (which, granted, happen once a decade), lock in competitive commissions, access a broker with the best treasury, use a platform with the largest ecosystem of developers, easily code scripts for "retail" automated trading and back testing, and trade with the preferred platform for about 10 futures prop funding companies, OR just trade with the free version and get the order flow suite from a third party for about $200.
Rod how do you feel about the Strategy Builder in Ninjatrader versus hiring a coder to automate a strategy? Do you have any affiliate links to coders you know?
My coding experience is limited to what I picked up adding indicators and cutting & pasting bits of code to the code originally generated by a free MT4 online Expert Advisor builder.
@@papaney1 Replying here. I don't know why comments don't show up for the videos. I've contact RUclips about it. I have a ghost on my channel. It's somewhat irresponsible to encourage people to use Apex when you don't take the time to explain some of the pitfalls of using Apex versus other prop firms. The withdrawal rules are significant and Apex is one of the WORST in the business in regards to withdrawals. You become a selfish shill when you push below average products. A real, successful trader doesn't need a prop firm.
Thanks for the comment on a video that has nothing to do with Apex. But yeah, 10 days to withdraw is totally unreasonable. Also, appreciate you mentioning the prop firms you prefer to Apex since I highlight no fewer than 10 alternatives on my channel.

Yes, Ninja has both a "Basic Entry" screen and an Order Ticket. Both are found under the New tab in the Control Panel.
Last day to lock in your 50% at Apex Trader Funding. Use Code: TDG50OFF tradersdevgroup.com/apex

It's a legacy thing from a settlement with another platform a while back. Basically they had to agree to make it pretty limited and crappy.
