- My Ridstar Q20 suffered from a bad LCD 325 miles into ownership. After Ridstar Q20 did some troubleshooting via a video submission; they decided my display needed replacing. While waiting, I purchased an aftermarket LCD to speed up the process of getting my bike on the road. In this video, I walk you the viewer through the removal and installation of the replacement LCD.
A couple of language corrections. 11:19 power switch not controller switch
20:51 stock LCD, not stock controller
20:54 LCD purchased, not controller that I purchased
Aftermarket LCD in this video: www.amazon.com...
great info on the bike and very informational. As someone who doesn't have much experience with bikes like this, I'm very happy with the informative presentation and attention to detail. Thank you a million, keep it up please!
You are very welcome. My hope is that this video would give someone such as yourself the comfort to tackle this.
More content coming.
@@Ridstar_Q20 Funny enough, here I am 10 months later having to go through the same procedure! My LCD gave out too the other day, thank God (and you) I can make the swap now. Thanks a ton again!
great jobe george. brilliant idea. my ridstar arrived yesterday! so far so good!
Excellent! Finishing up some details as I put mine all back together and make a few adjustments to the factory running of the wires.
@@Ridstar_Q20 One thing I was wondering is if it possible to buy stronger tires (moto style) for the ridstar. I would like something stronger and better looking, kind of super 73 aesthetics but can't find any. Do you have any ideas?
@@giorgiorocchi8313 Check these out. Much sturdier with a better all-around tread. ruclips.net/user/shortsKNcS-FtPhg0
@@Ridstar_Q20 thanks, just what wanted! I hope I can figure out how to ship them in Italy! Looking forward to a comparison video with the stock ones!
Sei stato bravissimo. Complimenti
Thank you.
Hello George! Hope everything is good! when are you going to release the video on the new tires? really looking to see the difference over the stocks
Very soon. Let me give you the super condensed short of it. The tires are quieter than the stock knobs. Grippy. Beefier. You can expect a loss of 3-4 miles off your total range. The Ultraverse tires are the quality that should have been on the bike in the first place for as heavy as it is. Ride safe.
There's no way to keep the phone holder?
Hi there, I got a question
So the old button plug stays empty, and you only connect new screen plug and the buttons work?
The buttons are now on the display, and the lights and horn work.
@@Ridstar_Q20 But you didn't connect buttons separately?
@mantukas86 the + on/off - are wired to the old LCD. On the new LCD, + on/off - are integrated to the face of the LCD.
The light and horn are wires coming from the controller.
@@Ridstar_Q20 oh,now I understand,I thought that buttons on/off was separate from screen and coming from controller, thanks, I order this display from AliExpress
I just installed the new LCD it works great. Can you please send me a cheat sheet to the P settings? Thank you.
I also can’t get it to show any speed. If you could send me some help that would be great thank you you with the P settings that you use thank you.
Anyone have information about replacing the controller possibly a link, 1500w motor too
Hey i changed my display with the same that you have and did all the settings on it and my throttle doesn’t work i don’t know what to do
If it's the same bike, and it didn't work, I would reach out to Ridstar.
hey , I just got mine , everything works but it's not reading my speed( the screen stays at 0mph) what do you think I can do?
Same here, it lags a lot. Have you found a solution?
finally & Salute!!! Lol
Thank you. The stock replacement arrived today. Need to check out the new one.
Can I order this is Display on ebay
I don't know, I got it on Amazon. The key is that it has the right plug.
Confusing you keep saying controller but it's only the screen that wouldn't change the speed of bike only if you change the controller. Better words would have helped people probably
