Hey man - Thank you for this video. Same problem. Bolt not broken, but striped. New bolt, re-tapped inert "nut" - thread lock & going back together now. It's funny how useful a RUclips video can be, and last and last and last.... Cheers Mate !!!! No more "floppy" seat !!!!

Saved me investigating, mine must have broke on the other side *sigh*
The other light bulbs give cancer and brain damage too. Thanks!

IBISMK2 I am glad that my video helped you. The repair I did here in the video is still holding up, I am happy to say!

Had to do that to the driver's side last week .
Went to upgrade the passenger side bolts today and the bolts are longer and 1 is snapped already

Thanks for the video. Do you remember what size bolts it uses?

econman27 I believe it was an 8mm bolt.

econman27 The video says 10mm bolt. I think that must be correct.

Mr963291, It appears to be an M8 x 1.25. I was able to match it up. Thanks again for the video!

Did the bolt repair it? I have a 97 c1500 that the back won't stay up on

It solved my problem. The oem bolt had sheared off.
