    this course is truly amazing. I have been a photographer since I was 14 and I am now 79. Spent years in my home darkroom and now I teach Photoshop. And I am humbled to say I learned more from this course than I expected. Alister is a great teacher and this course is a lot more than how to use a brush to dodge and burn.

    Generally speaking, I find translating observations from being at the actual locations, into the dodging and burning to be invaluable. For example; in wooded areas, the more flat light you’ll experience, the more the luminosity of greens (typically mosses) will stand out (higher luminosity in these conditions), and the loss of contrast will be due to high values of blue… this makes perfect sense, as the eye is more sensitive to greens, rather than other colors, and also the flat light being dominated by blues, and almost devoid of reds and yellows

    Hi Alister: Thanks for bringing this Master Class to the Community. I purchased this Master Class last week and completed the first view of the entire course. The contents of this course have been extremely well presented and easy to follow the flow. I am now using these techniques in my post-processing workflow and it has been wonderful. I would highly recommend the investment into this Master Class who really wants to taken their images to the next levels in a concise method. I would also add that this course dove-tails well into the TK7 process within PhotoShop. Well done! Cheers, Keith

    I just finished this Masterclass this afternoon and the one word I would use to describe it is revolutionary especially when it comes to the photoshop. You present a way of editing which is so different from what would be considered conventional. At the same time this method is so flexible and effective but at the same time easy to follow along with and learn. I will definitely be applying a lot of the topics covered in the course to my own workflow and going over the 14 pages of notes I took during the course. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and skill Alister!

      @Alister_Benn  3 года назад

      Excellent, delighted to hear that. This method most closely relates to painting with light. As you say, very fluid and intuitive.

    Good demonstration of the basics. I used to do this back in the day. It's such a hard thing to learn on print paper. Digital is better for undoing mistakes but has less of a tactile feel. I've had photoshop for about 15 years in one form or another. I still don't use all the tools let alone use them correctly. I'm seriously thinking about buying your course. Not that you are a good craftsman at this technique but more for the way you portray the feeling and emotion in the image. That's what I need now. I feel I've grown enough in all other areas. 30 years journey but I love every step.
    Oh by the way. I'm haunted by " Loki" that's a stunning heart grabbing shot. A true masterpiece.

      Thanks. The basics can take us a very very long way. In fact it is the very fact that people strive towards the complicated that is one of their biggest hurdles in this development game. I think I could (and do) process the majority of my images in less than 5 minutes.

      I have taken the course down because the version of Lightroom I taught it in is a couple of years old. If you want a copy I can sell you one for £30, which is less than half of what it used to be. It's still totally valid, just LR has become more sophisticated.

    Hi Alister. I bought this class but have now moved on to Tony Kuyper's TK8 version. In your class you show the History Brush based on generating the Rapid Mask and using this for intended History Brush activity. In the latest TK Module it no longer does this but generates additional Layers in Photoshop depending on the Source selection. How can use these new methods to generate a Source History State similar to the Rapid Mask Source State? I have learned a considerable amount and, like yourself, was originally turned onto the use of the History Brush by Bruce Barnbaum.
    Thanks!
    Dusty

    I don't use LightRoom, but I get a strong feeling that this masterclass will teach me the general ideas and not just how to operate some piece of software so I'll most likely purchase it some time soon. :-)
    I'm a bit surprised that it's a download and not online, would have slightly preferred just watching it online from any of my devices but there's pros and cons both ways. At least a download will stay with me as long as I keep my backup. ;)

      @@Alister_Benn Yes, and that means real life-time access.
      I like how for instance a platform like Bandcamp gives you steaming access plus downloads, but I'm not aware of any platform for video courses that does the same.

    dear Alister, I'm always in pleasure to feel how my soul reflect on your person and info you spread. Photography is only hobby to me, but this helps me to connect to Source of bless. Please comment, is it a reason to invest in your course (or other courses) for person, dealing with Capture one and Alieskin X4 and try to catch the main general idea of principles create 3D + emotion, but not copying the steps in Lightroom with sliders? Being very close to your personal perception to nature and to state of conscious "here and now",which could possibly give a chance to express in to photo picture, please share which course from your range,I should start to get even more expressive in being and photography. Appreciate your answer and bless your Being.
