@@KeyesminerMason From the viewpoint of hardware and cooling, mining is really no different than any other server stuff. It is just stuff which needs a place, electricity, network and properly designed cooling, and some access to service it when needed. The location for different stuff in server rack has also good practices, based on experience people doing that stuff have. On top of all it is also safety issue if the rack is bottom-heavy or top-heavy.
@@KeyesminerMason I have better use for my time. Still, the phenomenom itself is interesting, fun to see what these miners (the people, not the hardware) do.
CCXD wow that’s a nice adjustable rack, I like your layout but man you max out that rack quick! as for mounting the server depending on the rails, some rails require you to screw it in, others has i stud snap in for 0 tool installation, but yeah bolt down the rack!
Bro, I recommend placing that jingle miner with the exhaust on top to be placed on the top of the rack. You can also get a rack expandable shelf to add the other cpu rigs.
Ive racked hundreds of servers in my time.. Id put the server/ jazz miners mid rack or lower, shelves above, power on bottom and networking on top. On back manage power on one side vertically and networking on the other. I think those rail pegs need to be up on second stage, rail 90 should be flush to cage nut holes. Load the server on the back hooks first and lay flat onto the rails. Great job! #L7
Hey Chump, becareful with the Dell server rails, Imo, they are not fully seat in your rack. You have to, fully push the pins all the way throught and make sure you hear a click on all the four corner. I have the same model on my server rack. Take care
Normally you do Networking on the top of the Rack, UPS at the bottom (if having one for the Servers) and the servers in the Middle. I would take the server to the bottom because of the mass, if you got the heavy Stuff on the top it gets unstable and the Rack can fall over if you pull the Server out at the top... Sometimes I mount the networking and power distribution in the back, because most power plugs and network connections are in the back and you can use smaller cables and it looks very clean.
That's a much nicer rack than mine. Mine has these huge roller legs...always had trouble with the press in nuts and i had to buy my slide rails separately. Good Job
for the x4-q, if the back has no mounts to mount it to the back of the rack, you can get rails to help support it. alsol look for 6" patch cables to go from the switch to the patch panel. look at mactelecom on youtube, his setup he does are nice #L7
Great size rack. Am looking for one in that size. Want to replace my wooden pallet-rack. lol But, dude, go server/s in the middle, patchpanel/swith at top, PDU in ther back and if you will add UPS, down low..!! But nice to have shit mounted and somewhat neat, right.? #L7
❤you’re doing great thanks for the quality content I’m looking forward to build mini server and run it please kindly send me list of things I need to buy
Move your server down, put the patch panel in the top unit and your switch underneath it but put the two of them on the back of the rack pointing out. You'll thank me later.
PDU & networking should be on top not the server.. in my opinion! And racks are measured in units also know as U’s… This looks like an 18U rack…. Have fun!

I think you should put networking on top of the rack, heavy stuff like UPSes bottom of rack, and ordinary servers in between.
I agree. This is how we do it the server rooms. ( My day job )
@@Photog918 Are you mining by yourself?

@@captainhappy Do you also own your own miner?

For the Jas miner, raise up the shelf by 1u (3 screw holes) that will give you enough of an air gap so the fans aren't choked off.
Also i think your ipollo's are backwards.
Going to look so clean! He'll Yeah
I love the new server rack setup. Can't wait to see the Mini Miners in that rack too ! #L7
You are very professional, are you an experienced miner?
Awesome! Stacking and racking em' is the only way to go IMO.
My man!
Network patch panel on the top. Think about serving the server top lid, usually waist high for the server.
Mainly did that so I can open the top of the server case and work on it easily

I would mount the server lower. When you slide it out to service it, I would want it at a good working height.
Lookin great Chump. Keep showing us ur work, we all love it.
Thatsalotta ventilation - hopefully the trailer keeps the temps in your house down over the summer!

Great work, the rack looks a fantastic option. Keep the updates coming #L7

That looks great brody ..good for you!!!
Looks Fantastics!!! Will your Solar power some of the mini miners too?
Nice build!
Looking good. I usually put the networking gear and patch panels on the top of the rack and the heaviest item on the bottom. #L7
Clean AF
I want one for my garage!
Waiting on some exciting news regarding your setup for POUW mining. Keep up the grind #L7
#L7 Loving the trailer content, its give me trailer envy, i would put dell at bottom of rack and put X1 at the top, keep up the great content!!!
I don't know whats better... the Server Rack or the Jet Engine in the middle... #L7
Think you just need to take the shelves out and go get your octominers back, they would look good in there. Keep the content coming man #L7

Looks great. I'd love to have a rack but I really don't have a need for one yet. I see that #L7 sitting in there. 😜
