I did the lease program starved for 46 months had some major breakdowns thank god i starved myself i would'nt have completed the lease. But got the title after the 12,000 buyout flipped the truck for a new truck found a shipper to lease onto and deliver locally now home every night weekends off gross 186,000 last yr. So don't give up stick to it make a game plan do some research and move on to bigger and better. Finding a shipper to work for and delivering to there customer base is the way to go . No more middle men and broker fee and company fee that rob you to death. Make a plan execute you can succeed . I drive 364mi a day for 700.00 i spend 500 wk in fuel. I usually have 20+ hr available on my Elogs at end of week. It can be done research research research and research even more . Good Luck Truckers
+mike brown congratulations and agree. Leases do work more than people think but it's so much negative being broadcasted that the positive gets over shadowed. Thanks for your comment bro. Keep making that money.
@mike brown how did u go about getting with a shipper direct. I’m getting into the trucking business and blessed enough to have Jump in as owner operator and would like a gig that allows me to make it home daily to raise my kids. Any info on how I can fast track to that setup and make those type of numbers u quoted would be highly appreciated
I'm an intermodal dispatcher for a nation-wide drayage company. This was fun to listen to honestly. You seem like a super down to earth, humble dude. I hope you're still trucking and still shining, brother. If you ever want to run intermodal freight and want to sign on as an owner operator, hit me up.
your doing good, turning a good profit even with the truck problems, after you get in a groove you will around 1800-2200 a week clear, keep up the good work.
Going through comments, I now understand why people don't want to put up their income numbers. Props to you for doing it. Real information for people looking into trucking....not enough of this out there. Good Video!
First of all much respect, I enjoyed the look into the numbers. I just hit a crossroads in my life and looking at what path to travel next. Hope to see you keep the grind, and stay blessed.
KB...Great video, keep it up and don't let anyone shake your confidence. You're doing things right. Just keep refining your system. The very best of luck to you. P
Hello, King Bishop: Thank you for sharing the break-down of your income. It really gives a realistic view of what is possible if your "WORK-it" by Running SMART!
ChrisTheVirgo education is key. Take your time, do your homework and learn what you can before jumping onto this side of the game. Do those things and you can be successful
This is very encouraging! I just lost my job of almost 4 years as ATM Field Engineer. I have kept my CDL active for ever since I got it. I do not have any OTR experience except for 3 weeks training OTR with Stevens Transport from Texas back in 2003 (did not worked out as I was lied about how much I was going to be making) My CDL I got it from Road Master School out of Orlando, Florida; trust me when I tell you I can still drive a rig without an issue; just jump on it and practice some couple hours or more would reactivate all learned. I got some savings and was thinking in start an Owner Operator gig.; Live in Las Vegas but this city has no jobs so maybe it is time to hit road for a while. Your video is very encouraging; I love to drive; love the road; always have. Do you think I would have a hard time finding work providing I got no OTR experience? I mean; one have to start somewhere; I do not want to work for a company. I want to work for me. I work hard and if I drive hard, I think I can make it; what do you think?
+Rodolfo Rodriguez yeah it will be almost impossible to get an owner operator position with no experience. So you will probably have to go drive for someone for a while first. They will also require you to take a refresher course to brush up on your skills. But take your time. There is a lot of liability in this business so don't rush into your own truck until you know the game.
Start with taking a CDL Refresher Course or if you have the money to buy an old Truck and you practice backing and driving skills. However, if you know Owner Operators see if you can ride with them sharing the driving crossing the country.
Thats amazing. Im starting to get into trucking school and drive for a company for a couple of years get experience and main goal become an owner operator in the future. So thats awesome...God Bless You and Drive safe.
You will never believe me on this but I promise you that fuel mileage thing is in your head. I am a fuel tanker driver, all those stations get their deisel from the same place. All diesel is the same. Even the red untaxed diesel, the only difference is it has red dye in it. God Bless.
joker joes does well , whatever you do if you get fuel at Shell on I26 exit 74 Nby SC , if there's a truck there putting fuel in the ground or if has been raining keep going unless you have extra fuel filters to get the water out
thanks for this video when you run under company authority company take %10 for each load they give you for example if the shipper pay $3000 for the load and you need about $900 fuel for delivery so the owner getting $2100 now how the company take the %10 before fuel or after fuel usually how they count it ?
Not sure the quality of the fuel has to do with the company making it but more to do with the terrain you're driving around. Check google maps, enter your route and then select bicycle and it will show you the terrain elevation. I'm curious to hear if that is the true factor in getting better mileage. Keep up the hustle.
I had twice bad fuel at pilot where my truck was shaking and no power after i burned that fuel I refueled at different stop and within 25 miles till system cleared everything went back to normal
Thank you for this video. I got my CDL about 6 months ago, but still haven't taken that leap yet because I'm retired military and I haven't found any real income numbers from anyone to justify more time away from family. Pay as a independent contractor may seem like an option in the future. However, I still haven't gotten any experience as an OTR driver yet. Do you have any old videos that go over what kind of pay to expect as an employee? A suggestion though for any future pay videos...perhaps just start the video off with your gross and your net numbers...then break it down afterwards.
I am retiring in 9 months from the military. My uncle has his own authority and I will be driving under him. I only need 2 years on the road to pay off my bills and then I will be fully retired. You may want to think about finding someone who has their own authority. My other uncle made $200k last year under this uncle. I was asked to come on to help me do what I need to do so I can retire fully. King Bishop, you keep doing what you doing. Your net is still a good net start.
I'm trying to weight the options through information for myself including , being happy with the home time, for the time away, for your ballpark figure of how much you grossing after set cost before taxes... and I know everybody will not be the same, just looking for a example possible.
Out of the 39k in 3 months i didnt hear taxes. If you net 1500 a week after taxes then its great!! But if you take taxes out of the 1500 then id say your actual net is more like around the 1k area a week, imo. Maybe you can clarify.
Ok this one of your drivers that will succeed in the lease purchase..regardless buyout on tru ck hes leasing he will had put away enough money to decipher weather buying that truck hes in is worth it or going another route...on the same token,if you got 2years experience you can simply get with a small mom and pop company that pays 60cpm or 1400 a week 1099 and not stress over repairs, payments or insurance.....as long as you strving to own the truck your leasing then it may be worth it if program is walk away or no buy out amount..meaning once you done with payments you own truck....most of the time lease purchase isn't the way to go unless you can take truck to any company
What yr and make is your truck, we're going to Quality Nov 7th to pick one out? Also do you have any tips on how to get the truck we want, recruiter talks like it can be a VERY busy place? Thanks, be safe!
Brother i commend u i love the comment about where u fuel u r right ive had that argument a million times some diesel is better i find the greener it is the better the mileage keep on truckin
Correction brother. Owner operators DO NOT EARN. THEY GENERATE REVENUE. Money you generate this month you are going to need to fix the damn truck in 2 years or 3. 4cents is now enough when truck is new. Company drivers earn. What they get is their's forever. Cheikh Elmoustapha you sound stupid as hell.Money you generate THIS MONTH you will need to maintain the truck in 3 years😂😂😂An that's suppose to sound discouraging
$1,600 in a maintenance account? What do you do when you need a major repair on the truck? $1,600 sounds like the cost of a set of tires all around. I'm not a driver yet i'm just asking.
Is it a good idea to be telling your business, you do know brokers watch these sites, and probably this is why and how they charge low rates, now I am new to industry, please tell me if I am missing something
+rodney morgan you are mistaken. Brokers don't determine rates. Clients, freight type, length of haul, fuel and the driver who is running the load does. My numbers are average at best
King Bishop Trucking thought I did, guess I missed it. wasn't trying to be a smart ass, just first thing popped in my mind was, you might save on fuel, but what about the things the small truck stops don't offer , that the big ones do. I agree , trying to save money! I got the same lease as you brother , 695 a wk , and the place I'm at only has a deal with pilot and flying j, and they only let us get so much fuel elsewhere , like only 50 gallons. its just the way they work, but I ain't complaining , I figure they front the card , money, yea I pay , but they front it, so... anyway God bless brother and be safe 😃
Great video KB, does interstate run out of other ports besides Jax Fl?? I live in the Atlanta area so I was wondering if I could maybe run out of Savannah or Charleston?
Hate to break it too you but most places have the exact same fuel so get it at the cheapest place... I have hauled fuel for years and take the same fuel to every truck stop gas station within 200 miles
King Bishop Trucking what it says on the pumps and what's in the pump is 2 different things. I deliver the same diesel to the big truck stops and the small ones.
You got it God! Check out Road Runner Transportation System's Opportunities when you get time... I hear you can use your own Authority, etc or use theirs when you get time, may be more freedom to make more $$$... Let me know...
OTR- 559 nahhhh coming from nothing it's good money BUT only coming home every other week it's not good(to me). After all the deductions his pay came out to 6k a Month.Yet the conditions of that 6k a Month are great to a bachelor. If I was in his shoes I would save every dollar for the first year and get my own truck because that's what's knocking a hole in his pockets. His truck note is 2600.00 a Month.
Yep good job payN bills cant be mad got a picture update for you rest of my chrome is here sleeper windows baggage compartment with the chrome strip between them both gonna be sick told my wife i wont order no more till nxt yr lol only 3 pieces left two strips across both side of sleeper hood and visor fnt windshield

Good point about knowing where to buy fuel as for quality.

+Chasn Ben Franklins roughly 7k
great info bud, thanks for sharing, keep up the good work.
Thanks for watching
You missing out on Love's. Love's has a mean point system. You can eat off of points almost everyday, and save roughly $40 a week.
+Simple&Cool SimplyCool 23 it does. I just started fueling there not too long ago
Keep up the grind, God Bless
+Eric Tucker thanks
Keep up the good work driver and be safe
Well said bro, respect

I work pulling containers out Savannah Ports, and work regionally...
Where you purchased your truck?
+neo1baby I have a quality truck
What yr and make is your truck, we're going to Quality Nov 7th to pick one out? Also do you have any tips on how to get the truck we want, recruiter talks like it can be a VERY busy place? Thanks, be safe!
+Vicki Snell extremely busy and 16 cascadia. The only tip is get there early. Go watch my quality videos for other info on the process
At what miles per hour do you drive to achieve getting 1300 miles to the gallon?@kingbishop
He said for his two tanks full he gets 1300 miles
yea Ray . Like how u worked the numbers
+keithmackall thanks bro
what app do you use to find the best fuel price ?
Fuel book
Brother i commend u i love the comment about where u fuel u r right ive had that argument a million times some diesel is better i find the greener it is the better the mileage keep on truckin
Good job man but forgot you gotta put some back for taxes
No I didn’t. I just didn’t give that info out
Good info brotha. Appreciate you
+Eric Kindley thanks for watching
No problem brotha. SInce I am not all the way up to seep on what company you are with now, are you still OTR or local now?
Do they give you a break on taxes? Or will that net number then be taxed at the end of each quarter?
Also great videos man!
Company doesn't handle taxes at all other than ifta
Thanks
Great insight Brotha,
However, it wasn't clear to me if that net income was after the Federal, State income tax and health insurance?
keep up the good work. who do you have to do all all your paperwork and taxes, is it the company or you got a totally different person
+J j601 totally different person
how heavey is your load.getting 1300miles and what type motor do you have
+Ronald Hamilton usually lighter loads and decent fuel. Maybe 20k or less. And I have a DD15
do you get surge prices? And does the company you work for allow you to triangle book your loads.
+Working Dad llc yes but it based on national averages. About .20cpm
Correction brother. Owner operators DO NOT EARN. THEY GENERATE REVENUE. Money you generate this month you are going to need to fix the damn truck in 2 years or 3. 4cents is now enough when truck is new. Company drivers earn. What they get is their's forever. They do not have to dig in or borrow to fix the major repairs down the road.
+Cheikh Elmoustapha agreed
Cheikh Elmoustapha you sound stupid as hell.Money you generate THIS MONTH you will need to maintain the truck in 3 years😂😂😂An that's suppose to sound discouraging
Hey bro that's no money $1600 a week been owner !!!! No way !!!!
+Ady H fret no on small beginnings. I'm content
Ady H hes prolly a lease op
There's a company called Florida Rock hauling fuel that has a $1400 guarantee a week and your home every day
appreciate the good info bro, really helpful
+ELDAWG E thanks for watching
$1,600 in a maintenance account? What do you do when you need a major repair on the truck? $1,600 sounds like the cost of a set of tires all around. I'm not a driver yet i'm just asking.
+SkilledEddie only been here a few months. And always keep money in the bank of course
Obviously your very very ignorant. Stop giving people bad info on my page or I'll block you
I wish that was the cost of tires all around....$4k-$5k and that's with carrier discount
Appreciate the info brother
+Adrian Hopkins thanks for watching
Are you responsible for paying taxes with that net or are taxes already taken out
+troy williams no taxes are deducted
I'm saying after all your set cost , truck payment, fuel, insurance are paid?
+Chasn Ben Franklins o ok
if you don't fuel at pilot or flying j , where do you get free showers at?
+Truckin with Brian re watch the video
+Truckin with Brian thank you, you be safe driver
The $695 a week truck payment was for the old truck or new truck?
+John Cervantes both quality goes by the year. 2015 & 2016 same price
Thanks for the info I haul fuel myself I wish quality had a lease program for fuel hailers and how are you able to average those gas mileage
Mane I try my best to get quality fuel. But outside of that I'm not doing anything special honestly
+King Bishop Trucking trust me I understand I appreciate all the info you provide for us and I want to be a operator but not over the road
Thanks bro. I mean there are local owner operators make decent money too
You need to get Brothermans spread sheet and know your exact coast! No estimates!!! Look him up he’s on RUclips!
I’m good now this video is over a year and a half old bro lol
Great video KB, does interstate run out of other ports besides Jax Fl?? I live in the Atlanta area so I was wondering if I could maybe run out of Savannah or Charleston?
No only Tampa and Jacksonville
I emailed you but it didn’t work I’m really trying to get in contact with you
Wassup?
Hate to break it too you but most places have the exact same fuel so get it at the cheapest place... I have hauled fuel for years and take the same fuel to every truck stop gas station within 200 miles
+CJM major truck stops uses a higher percentage of bio-diesel. It says it right on the pumps
King Bishop Trucking what it says on the pumps and what's in the pump is 2 different things. I deliver the same diesel to the big truck stops and the small ones.
out of 1500 per week how much of that do you figure we'll go to taxes?
+Big Ounce depending on your accountant about 300
I like ur vib bro. keep getting it. save and get ur own.
Thanks
Facts all fuel isn't equal...
Good communication!
+Robert Rodriguez thanks bro
did you buy your truck on your own or through the company ?
Lease truck through quality
Great video
Thanks
Oh man most of my family and friends are truck drivers they got hight crostrol big stomach other healthy issues but they doing good money
7.4 mpg is pretty damn good I can only get 6.5 with my t800
+Les Leb 7.4 is great if I slowed down to 65 I would get about 8mpg
Let me hold something
I was just thinking the same thing
in my area o/o get 90 percent took me awhile to find out who pay the most been at it since 06
+interstaterunna 90% is great driva
Another youtuber says you need to make $1.50 for EVERY mile you put on your odometer. Does this sound right to you?
+Sam O I don't but based on the fuel mileage, maintenance, truck payment and load weight I can see it being that high
Sam O starting out truckers don't receive that rate.0.60 MAYBE 1.00
Its all, about managing them numbers. good job bro.
+Rayford Hickman yessir
Something to consider is working for a company that doesn't have company drivers, 100% owner operators.
Maximus Rex- he leased his truck from Quality Truck. He can go to any company he wants and any time.
Mathematics!!!!
Decent numbers God, do you think you would get up to approx $2500 per wk at Interstate?
Peace, Power and Prosperity!!!!
+SUPERMAN 7 thanks bro and not if I keep paying 2800 a month in truck payments. 2000 yeah, 2500 no
You got it God!
Check out Road Runner Transportation System's Opportunities when you get time...
