It's really kinda fascinating that the Survivor Auction is a total budget "challenge", allows the show to plug food sponsors, introduce advantages, comes off as genuinely entertaining, and is loved by the fanbase.
That's a very good point now that you bring it up - when you think about it it's easy sponsorship money with people sitting on seats for a few meals. Still I feel the Australian Outback was by far the worst offender.

Yeah, no argument here.
I guess their excuse would be with Australia's ratings the only ego they had to worry about was their own.
As much as we criticize Jeff his presence makes the challenges so more bearable
Very true!
The plank challenge is loved in the swedish version by what I remember, so it makes sense why it made out to Survivor Borneo
yeah it was used a lot in the expedition robinson final 4 phases. Even the finnish version did it
Ahh I never knew that thanks for saying - but it still is a super budget challenge aha
ok to be fair to Aussie survivor, that charade challenge was entertainment gold. I'll never forget Jericho's confused look when Sarah was trying to mimic an animal
It has a lot of really funny moments but I felt so bad for JLP not being able to properly commentate what was going on
The other 4 were straight up lame but Charades was one of the funniest Reward Challenges of all time. Would prefer that any day over the standard obstacle course + puzzle/carnival game challenge we usually get.
Fair enough! I would have expected a stronger set design from the aussies though considering the high quality sets for the challenges in Australian Survivor 2017
I never really thought about it like that but you’re so right, that charades was pretty budget. It was legit one of the best challenges though and I want to see it again. 😂 US Survivor is super cheap nowadays so they should totally use it since it was gold
I am surprised that there is not 1 challenge from Marquesas the season of budget challenges due to them having to switch locations when pre-production was well underway due to 9/11.
I was definetly considering some of them such as flying a kite...and that being it but a lot of the marquesas challenges have a distinct charm such as the stilts challenge which is fairly basic but super unique
This video really made me realize that the challenges are always the worst part of Survivor. Reward challenges in particular are kind of dumb and feel pointless to watch most times. They could honestly cut every challenge out of the show and it would be better for it (except Last Gasp, that one's actually fun).
I’m shocked ladder golf from season 24 one world didn’t appear
I’ve literally played that at low budget barbecues for years like that may be as simplistic as it gets
Yeah that's what I was referencing when I said "these types of challenges have appeared other times" in the Bocche ball challenge. 24 was close to making the list but Samoa was the first and I liked Troyzan's commentary.

♥ thank you!
The charades challenge was fair if these were the teams for any other challenge it would have been a blowout
That's very true!
my problem with that plank challenge in Borneo is that it feel awfully unfair and unbalanced, since skinny women will obviously have a big advantage over like Rich or Rudy. Sure, most challenges are unfair, but in this challenge its pretty obvious who would be last two standing
Yeah it's very similar to the final immunity challenge in Borneo - it will benefit lighter people that take up less space
@@BanditSurvivorContent or the final 3 immunity challenge in exile islands. Which Terry had literally no chance of winning
@@freddytang2128 sorry I meant to say Panama ahah yep! Terry was hard screwed
So number 4 is animal based charades?
Pretty much! Just with blocks and the host couldn't actually speak.
