I own a Dyneema tent by one of the companies named in this video. While it is a great tent, after three years it has become "thin" or "silky", I'm not sure how to describe it. I think this is mostly due to UV attacking the material. I'm planning to hike for four months next summer, and I don't trust the material to last through that hike . Given the cost of the tent and the fact that I need to have something I can trust will last for the duration, I bought a new tent and it is not in Dyneema : I went with sil poly. Less than half the price, a few ounces more, and this should last quite a lot longer.

This. Its abrasion-resistance is horribly lacking.

Indeed. Wear and tear can definitely take a toll on it.

@Greenbelly Just to clarify, it's the fly that's has become silky. New DCF is crisp, almost crinkly. Because it's the fly I don't think abrasion played a major role and that's why I suspect UVs from the sun. The DCF floor itself has withstood three years of pretty intense use without any visible damage.
