After watching dozens of these Greg demos over the years, he always seems to match what riffs/chords/motifs/song quotes he's playing to the pickup selections to bring out the best of the combinations for each individual model...that's why he's The Gristlemaster...
@@rectangularcuboid LOL! Well played, Sirrah/Madam. In this case I can confidently state that for my part, it is not fear behind my resistance to this particular change. Oh, no.
Sounds really great! Paint job is awesome. But that headstock, I'd immediately get some of that Vanta Black paint and make that thing disappear. Also, what is it with the $5,000 strats these days?! It's like anyone that makes any kind of custom Strat thinks it's worth $5k. With this guitar in particular, there's no way at re-sale it would fetch even half its list price. If you could even find someone to buy it. If this guitar was in the $2k-$3k range it would be worth it IMO.
It does look a little odd, but my beef is the Tyler logo on it...it should either be single block type or script. The repeating name looks a little weird, off, or something...A plain, simple font would be best in my opinion...oh well...too much $$$ for me anyway.
Yer the Tyler decal reads like a concussed person with triple vision - horrible to look at which only draws attention to the club foot headstock- it sounds ok, but just another soulless guitar in a Strat format that benefits from Greg’s amp and playing....

love this one
Someone else say it.
Other than that - decent tone, and masterful prestidigitation from the Gristlemaster.
We fear change. There, I said it.

Don't get it either
Yep...Fender is crazy...5k....for a beat up....strat.....really overkill now...I thought 3k was steep....but 5 .....greed....
Y'all need to check out the gear page if you don't think these will hold resale value.
These hold their value better than any Fender CS, hands down. Cult like following and for good reason!
Knew he'd play Sultans as soon as I heard how that 2 posish sounded, lol
Nice guitar....James Tyler....quite a luthier....
Nice-looking guitar.
🙏 maestro 🙏

Can’t get past the headstock it looks like a club foot!!

@@philcilia4482 Very well described...I agree.
In my opinion, that head stock is so ugly. Amazing playing as always :D I love your guitar videos/playing
When you play one you'll forget about the headstock
