So much missing information. How did you repot your string of pearls without damaging the pearls? Did you break away all the old soil and put all new soil or just some of it? What kind of light do you give it? Do you remove the dead stuff? Your title was how to save your string of pearls, but very little information other than watering.
That happened to me too! I forgot to water my 6 inch string of pearls for 2 wks and it was almost dead. I decided to propagate the good pearls and transferred them to 3 separate pots with new soil. They are all thriving at this time and have new baby growth😊 Im so happy I was able to save it! I felt so down at the time when I saw most of the pearls die😭
Trying to save mine!! Got my string of pearls for my birthday about two weeks ago, and I watered it once and it is just a soggy mess. I’m letting it dry up completely and hopefully it will revive!
Nice work ! Huge improvement! Do you suggest cutting off the brown , shriveled pearls ? I like to use a humidity dome on mine when they’re too dry . Sometimes those brown ones mold a bit . But there are so many , it can be daunting. Thanks for this awesome video 😊
Alisson Hernandez yes. I used a premixed soil called propagation mix by sungrow but you can use anything that is well draining soil like cacti or succulent mix. This one just needed new soil. The one it had before was super dry.
kayoua48 change it’s soil into completely dry soil and let it sit there for a while and water when soil is completely dry after you see it’s not so soggy
Girl, I’m in San Diego too and I always struggle with this one 😩 I just recently bought one online that looks like it was just recently propagated so I have a question, would it be ok to re-pot to a terra cotta or should I wait? I don’t want to kill it 🥺
I water mine once a month, but not a lot of water, and I spray them with water whenever they feel too dry. and mine only live if they're near a window with a lot of sunlight.
I don't understand why no RUclips really showing how they water them... LIKE from the top slash or bottom absorbing it will be helpful to actually shows how much u water them...
I bottom water all my plants. Just get a bigger bowl it will fit in and fill it with water. Set the plant in the water for 10 mins and check. If the soil is not wet from the top when you stick your finger in let sit another 10 mins! If you have any other questions ill answer if I can!
Saludos y bendiciones!
plants from grocery stores/home depot are always so difficult to take care for compared to the ones in nursery homes. I recently bought an ivy plant and it died already as it was infested with spidermites
I have learned NOTHING from this video. AT ALL. giving it water and shade - nothing special. You didn't show how you reported it at all. Thumbs down. I already know how to water a plant. Thanks.
I'm sorry, but this just looks like you neglected your string of pearls for a bit on purpose, you put it in direct sun and stopped watering so it looked like that, then you "changed the soil", put it in the shade and started giving it water. Not impressed at all tbh. 😒

My new string of pearls is in poor shape... You gave me hope that I can save it. Thanks for the video!
Did it live?
what happened to it?
Well done! I agree they need periodic attention to keep them thriving and become a string instead of a shriveled dry ball! Happy growing!

Do the single pearls root?? I mean without the strings? Do these pearls root and further grow into strings?
@@gardenpassion2256 With the pearls attached to the strings. I havent tried propagating just the individual pearls but you never know. It might work😁
@@20nnaletsyrk thanks

Mari I bought it in a plastic pot but then I shifted it to terra cotta pot and now it’s growing well. Thank you 😊

Do you bottom water this plant?
What soil did you use? And when you water it through, do you just keep watering until it comes out of the bottom?
Same questions. Great results but need more guidance on the actual care along the way!?
Can you say how often you watering the pearls?

So did you switch out the soil? And if so what kind of soil did you use?

Awesome job! I'm so proud of you! It's not an easy thing to do.
thank you!!
@@DoseOfSucculents what kind of soil did you use to repot?
Did you water the leaf or only the soil?
Great video! Great advice!
When you see purple does that mean it’s dying? I have a very healthy propagation with one purple pearl that’s thriving.
It just means yours is receiving a tad more sun and it changes its color, but that's ok. 😊
Hi! What about transparent pearls?
I heard that means too much water and to let it dry out more
Girl I feel u..I'm so impatient..but that's what plants are for right ..right??..lol..they r very therapeutic
Wow!!! Great job!!!!
You missed mentioning rhs mkat important part. Toy aaid thw potting medium is too dry. So what did you change it to?
I have a very small sop from a cutting. It’s not doing well. Any suggestions for cuttings?

I only bottom water. They don't like being wet.
String of pearls do not need to be sprayed! They are to sensitive to getting mushy!
Would you know what causes the purple?
What did you use in your soul.?
My string of pearls turning black and its like mushy I don't know whyyy
Too much water

I watered every 7 to 10 days :)
7 to 10 seems like a lot, I only water mine once a month. But then again, she's getting mushy..
