The golden years of the Ottoman Empire come to life in a television series. The life of Suleiman the Magnificent is preparing to be a guest in your homes in all its glory. Get ready to experience the era with ambition, loves, wars and all the struggle.
Prince Solomon, with his closest man, Ibrahim Pargam Ibrahim receives the bad news in a hunt. His father Yavuz Sultan Selim Khan passed away. Prince Suleyman sets out for Istanbul without waiting. Prince Süleyman quickly reaches the capital. He attends the culus ceremony without waiting. His life changed in one day. He started his life as Sultan Süleyman.
Meanwhile, a galley loaded with slaves coming over the Black Sea is heading towards Istanbul. The hottest of the slaves is not yet aware that he is on a journey that will change his destiny. He is rebelling helplessly to return.
Sultan Süleyman wants to show what kind of sultan he is by the commands he gave on the first day of his sultanate. But not everyone will like these decisions. Sultan Süleyman does not hesitate to challenge all of Europe with the messages he sends.
Alex, despite all his rebellion, is brought to the Topkapi palace. His attitude attracted the attention of Valide Sultan from the first moment. But it won't be long before Alex learns the rules of the palace. He chooses a great target. Alex, Sultan Suleyman's first night on the way to attract his attention. Sultan Suleiman's wife Mahidevran just arrived from the palace of Manisa. He is looking forward to seeing his wife.

Bu sırada, Karadeniz üzerinden içi köle yüklü bir kadırga, İstanbul’a doğru gelmektedir. Kölelerden en ateşli olanı ise, kaderini değiştirecek olan yolculuğa çıktığının henüz farkında değildir. Geri dönmek için çaresiz bir şekilde isyan etmektedir.
Sultan Süleyman, padişahlığının ilk gününde verdiği buyruklarla nasıl bir padişah olduğunu göstermek ister. Ama bu kararlar herkesin hoşuna gitmeyecektir. Sultan Süleyman ise gönderdiği mesajlarla, tüm Avrupa’ya meydan okumaktan çekinmez.
Alex, tüm isyankarlığına rağmen, Topkapı sarayına getirilir. Onun bu tavrı ilk andan itibaren Valide Sultan’ın dikkatini çeker. Ama Alex’in sarayın kurallarını öğrenmesi uzun sürmez. Kendisine büyük bir hedef seçer. Alex, Sultan Süleyman’ın karşısına çıktığı ilk gecede onun ilgisini çekmeyi başarır. Sultan Süleyman’ın eşi Mahidevran ise Manisa sarayından yeni gelmiş. Eşi ile görüşmeyi sabırsızlıkla beklemektedir.

In real life Queen Mother Hafsa persuaded lots of time for Ferhat Pasha and tried to save him. The pasha never learned his lesson. It is said that Beyhans outburst of grief by the news shocked the entire harem. She went into voluntary exile and refused to go to the Old Palace. She was angry and refused to see his brother as well.
Looked at a list of Sultanas (daughters of Sultans in this case), and the amount of times they had to remarry because their father or brother or nephew killed their husbands (due to betrayals or conspiracy) was staggering...
What a miserable fate most of these imperial kids had. Born into one of the richest and most powerful dynasties of the time (or ever, really) and most of the boys got slaughtered as kids or young men (knowing, any sons they had would die with them). And the girls were married off as political pawns at a young age, often repeatedly. And if their father or brother decided to kill their husbands, they.had to accept it and still bow and submit. They may have been above everyone else in status and possibly wealth...but they were everything from free. Even the shezades. How much control did they really have over their lives, unless they became the ruler? And they couldn't have a love marriage, either, unless they were lucky enough to fall in love with a concubine and not a free woman. And to become the ruler, they had to kill their (half) brothers. Wonderful. Just wonderful.
No wonder Hurrem fought so hard for her kids
Truth be told. It was rare for any pasha to survive. The list of grand viziers and how long they stayed in office (especially during the 17th century) makes you actually wonder why would anyone even want that position.

Contrary to the real order of ages, I guess in this series the sisters order from oldest to youngest
1. Sah (her daughter is the eldest of all their children, maybe same age as mustafa)
2. Beyhan
3. Hatice
4. Fatma (she appears latest and looking younger than Hurrem & Mahidevran)
Ironically, the actresses real ages order are opposite.

I agree with your list I would just swap Hatice and Fatma. I think the show presents Hatice being the youngest cause in a flashback Valide travels with a young Hatice to Manisa to visit Suleiman so it's implied the other sisters have got married by this point. Although in truth I don't think the show thought through the order of the sisters until they were needed in the story so its anyone's guess.

I also believe, that Sah was only his half sister - I can't remember, what her mother's name was, but it wasn't Hafsa.
And Hatice was definitely the youngest sister and closest to him, even when they were kids (as portrayed in the series, not talking about RL).

Every Pasha married Sultan's sisters for their own gain. They thought thay they could do anything just because they were married to Sultan's sisters. And these Sultanas could not stop their spouses from wrongdoings and corruptions but they managed to call Sultan a Murderer. I mean, practice what you preach first.

Those names who have been executed by sultan were nothing personally for such an empire which has ruled 3 continents. Sultans were able to execute even their own sons just for the sake of the empire and Muslims. Thats why it survived almost 700 years with a few fights for the throne.

Another fool.Her husband was guilty and was punished accordingly to their law.She can't expect a proper ruler to make exceptions for anyone,that's not justice.If anything what are his flaws is giving high power/high risk men to his sisters,if they were nobodies that his sisters truly fell in love with there wouldn't be such problems.Suleiman despite being justiful was near fully incapable of preventing events that will lead to him being forced to impose such justice.Giving power where he CLEARLY shouldn't,giving promises he NEVER keeps and much more.

Suleyman was the one who killed him and Its still debatable whether he was completely innocent or not but I don't think he deserved to be killed. And hurrem IRL had a good relationship with suleyman's mother and his sisters. Suleyman didn't take any other concubines after hurrem. She was the legal wife of suleyman the magnificent and the first ever haseki sultan. She was the founder of the sultanate of women. She did a lot of charity work and loved her children dearly. So pls don't judge the real hurrem sultan by her portrayal on the series
@@kamrunsultana4338 Everyone judges other characters based on the series so people can judge Hurrem as well. In the series, she is shown to be the reason Suleiman starts to be suspicious of Mustafa. She is the reason for Mustafa's death.

Kara Ahmed Pasha was Grand Vizier after Rustem was dismissed because of janissaries revolts after Mustafa death. He died when Hurrem spread false news about him because she wanted Rustem back as a Grand Vizier

Why does Valide play like she has power in that palace and family? She moves around dressed like a queen and having a word only on the poor slaves. Sultanas had power only if they were ready to feed the murderous thoughts and nature of their sultan. To make them think of other people's pain... it was impossible.
She is the Queen Mother. She has power over the harem and can influence the way things go.
