Interesting thing about U.S. state capitals is that New York's capital is alphabetically 1st (Trenton, NJ's, is last).
I like the fact that New York's two biggest cities are sort of bookends for the state.

My favorite state to visit. great video as usual, just wondering do you make them then upload or make a few at a time then set an upload schedule?

My New Year's Resolution is following a weekly upload schedule, and I currently have two videos on backlog. This video was made shortly after Christmas if I remember correctly. All the previous episodes were usually uploaded the day after I finished, so the scheduling was arbitrary.

VERY WELL DONE!! However, The Adirondack Mountains are NOT part of the Appalachians. They are completely different geologically. However, the Catskill Mountains, and parts of the Alleghany and Taconic ranges are in NY and are part of the Appalachians.

These are really good! I'd only wish to hear the actual population of the state instead of a comparsion only

Thanks! I state the population in the first sentence of these videos, but thinking about it now I probably should state it when I show the comparisons.

Stupid UK taking New Netherland, it would be sooo awsome if it stayed as a Dutch colony and became a Dutch speaking country with Dutch culture.

Dutch stayed as a language of New York for a long time after the British got it; President Van Buren is so far the only U.S. president who's native language wasn't English, because it was Dutch (from what I remember reading about him he had a heavy accent while speaking English). Also New York State didn't stop printing official paperwork in Dutch until the beginning of the 20th century.
So what I'm saying is that New-Yorkers had the language long enough for it to have been preserved and continued existing to this day, but it seems there wasn't a movement similar to what happened in Quebec with French for whatever reason. Also, I don't see a need for it to have been a country, the same way I feel about Quebec.

I’m originally from NY state and I have English and Dutch ancestry. It’s kind of strange to think 🤔 about it

Ah, you're right, I've been using the 2010 census information for these (before Florida took #3).

Morrethy it was only a few months ago when Florida took the bronze medal, hard to blame you.
