Metallica Songs NOT Written by Dave Mustaine (First 2 albums)

Well, there you have it. Maybe, just maybe, Metallica would have survived with ‘only’ these songs and riffs? 😉 Since both Metallica & Megadeth fans will click on this, here are my favorite albums:

And yes, Dave Mustaine wrote some solos for Kill ’Em All that Kirk uses. One reason is probably because he only had 4 weeks or so before they went to the studio…
But here is why you don’t count that as ‘song writing credit’: Because not even Dave Mustaine counts solos as writing a song!
Writing credits on Megadeth - ‘Tornado of Souls,’ for example: Dave Mustaine/Dave Ellefson. NO Marty Friedman!
This is pretty much standard; you usually don’t get songwriting credits for solos. I guess solos are maybe seen more as a ‘bonus’ for an already written song. It’s still important, but often you write and record solos last, when you already have the riffs written…
Maybe you should still get credits for the solos, but I don’t make these rules!
Maybe we should have special ‘credit rules’ for Dave Mustaine, even if Dave himself doesn’t give any credits for the solos either? 🤔
Anyway, I am still a fan of both Megadeth and Metallica! And they have both made some amazing riffs and songs 🤘 (And solos, even if it don’t give any of them writing credits on paper)

Dave and the community need to get over he’s not in Metallica. Just a blip in their history. Few live videos.

After all he has 4 credits on Kill em all and 2 on Ride the lightning. They even put his name first! On Kill em all, after Cliff on Ride the lightning.
They seem to put the writing credits in order. They put the ”main” writer first, this might also mean more royalties for Dave on 6 songs…
These two albums has sold 10+ million each today. Dave won, who wouldnt want that? Caching in from Metallica
