Thank you so much for these. I got an 8 In my paper one mock I have paper two in a few weeks. I would literally be failing rn if I didn’t have these videos
Man science, maths geography and English language always gets me 8 or 9s but subjects like rs Spanish and English literature I never get past a 7 I wish they were versions of you which did those subjects
Me and my friend literally had a zoom where we had to revise for mocks and we just watched your videos until, like 1am. Thank you so much for this. Aha, the worst thing is that GCSE's are now cancelled so...
In trilogy science you do 3 papers for all biology, chemistry and physics where as in combined you do 2 papers for the 3 different science but teacher say that you get one less GCSEs if you do combined science rather than trilogy what does this mean pls help someone really puzzled 😕
So in the trilogy you do three sciences that are worth three GCSEs (Biology, Chemistry and physics). However, for combined science you only take the GCSE exams of two out of these three sciences, which can be your choice. For example, you can choose to take the Biology and Physics exam but not chemistry or the Physics and Chemistry exams but not chemistry. Therefore, you will only have two GCSEs for the exams of two sciences you select.
Sorry but that's not correct. In Combined Science, you do biology, chemistry and physics but study fewer topics than in triple. You get two GCSEs in "Science". And Trilogy has nothing to do with Triple. Trilogy is simply the way that the topics are ordered compared to Synergy in which they are ordered differently. They're both combined science.
In Scotland it's a lot simpler, we have specific sciences, but we also have a general science for those who cannot understand the specialised courses, and a national 5 grade (equivalent of gcse) only comes from the specialised sciences
Hi Sir, can we just write the shortened version of the formula in the exam? eg for ethanol C(small2)H(small5)OH, instead of writing the slightly longer one? thanks
If oxygen was present then the yeast would use the glucose to carry out aerobic respiration, producing carbon dioxide and water. In the absence of oxygen, the yeast carry out anaerobic respiration, producing ethanol (and carbon dioxide).
Chemistry is my worst subject, and i’m doing triple, so glad you’ve made these videos, you’ve saved my GCSE
Me too bro and I am feeling scared

Chem actually isnt that bad its physics that iam scared for the most
Saving me once again, you're the only lad getting me though my science GCSEs right now.
Good luck to everyone with mocks coming up... stay strong!
thank you georgie

literally been watching you for 5 hours straight lmao
How you doing in life
Absolute madlad. Always knows the best way of explaining

Thank you so much for these. I got an 8 In my paper one mock I have paper two in a few weeks. I would literally be failing rn if I didn’t have these videos
you’re the reason im surviving chemistry thank you
bless up our dad
Why does OH in methanol not have a bond between them but the rest does?
Your videos are so helpful. I'm an NCEA student (NZ) and we cover the same material. Thank you!
No problem and thanks for the message. I'm glad to hear that my videos are used in New Zealand.

@@Freesciencelessons Bro we use your videos in the Caribbean as well
Absolute legend doing some last minute revision and your videos are very clear
OMG IGCSE IS SO HARD MAN BUT HE IS A GOOD TEACHER
Thank you , amazing video 🙂 can I have the link for molar equations I find it very not straight forward
On the toilet an hour before chemistry final rn.

probs come back here after i’ve done my gcses lol
I love you.
chem test comming up in a couple of weeks... You've saved my IGCSE chemistry
thank you, keep up the work. i love you
Watching this in chemistry rn
Sir,
does there have to be a bond between the OH, because in methanol there isn't one, but on the rest, there is one? Thank you.
Mimi Pearson-Gee it’s just the way it’s drawn. OH and O-H is the same
with the structural formulas, would you need to write ethanol as CH3CH2OH or would C2H5OH be equally correct?
Goldenshark 14 You wouldn’t write it as C2H5OH it’s C2H6O
I'm pretty sure that's fine
yh
Is it ok if I use only ur videos and past papers to revise for my GCSEs or should I use other resources?
Shouldn't the general formula for alcohol be included in this video?
Do we have to know about isomers, so could we be asked about propan-1-ol or propan-2-ol for example?
In GCE O LEVELS yes, otherwise, I don't know.
what exam board does this follow and does it matter if its not the same as what I'm taking?
These videos are written for the AQA spec but there is a lot of overlap with the other exam boards.
thank you
All exam teach the same thing so it doesn't matter
I love u man u saving lives
every time I remember organic chemistry exists I feel the urge to jump
Do you need to have the bond between the OH drawn or not?
doesn't make a difference
Yes
Can't we write C2H5OH instead of CH3CH2OH?
SIR instead of remembering all the temperatures for the reactions can I just pick the highest one and say that for everything like the alkene reaction
I'd recommend trying to learn each one if you have time.
Me and my friend literally had a zoom where we had to revise for mocks and we just watched your videos until, like 1am. Thank you so much for this. Aha, the worst thing is that GCSE's are now cancelled so...
Chem p4 igcse today u legend
Does a bond between O and H need to be drawn or can it just be drawn as OH
It needs to be drawn if the examiner asks to draw a structural (or display) formula.
thnk u thnk u thnk u for making this video

At 1:25 can you not just said "C2H6OH" instead of saying "CH3CH2OH" so like add them up
I think it's best to write it out as he showed so that it's evidently reflecting the hydrocarbon arrangement.
you can but CH3CH2OH is the molecular formula you should only say it if you are being asked
It depends on exam boards I think. In edexcel, you're taught to add them up, but the expectations may be different for aqa.
It's quite confusing as the CGP revsion guide combines the elements and that's how we've done it in class previously
A godsend
Hi Sir, can we just write the shortened version of the formula in the exam? eg for ethanol C(small2)H(small5)OH, instead of writing the slightly longer one? thanks
Yes as long as it answers the question.
my teacher made me believe organic chemistry was hard
Lmao same
@P234 no its not
do we need to know about esters? AQA
Yes, it's on the specification and he includes them in his carboxylic acids video.
do these work for edexcel too?
praying for anyone who does triple lol
Isn’t another disadvantage of fermentation the fact that the ethanol poisons the yeast? In a long term..? At least that’s what my teacher said
Fermentation take several dayz this shows tjat the reaction is slow while hydration the reaction is quiz.
Can any one tell me that why should the reaction take in an anaerobic conditions . Please answer me
If oxygen was present then the yeast would use the glucose to carry out aerobic respiration, producing carbon dioxide and water. In the absence of oxygen, the yeast carry out anaerobic respiration, producing ethanol (and carbon dioxide).
Thank you so much !!!
How come the methanol has 3 hydrogen atoms when the formula from alkenes is CnH2n so 1 times 2 is 2?
Hi. Alcohols are not alkenes so they have a different general formula.
The general fomula of alcohol is CnH2n+2O
Why does fermentation have to be in anaerobic condition
If oxygen is allowed in, the glucose is simply used for aerobic respiration and converted to carbon dioxide and water.
class of 2022 anyone ??
